You showed up on my algorithm again.A few months ago, I made a comment about explaining each card in the deck tech a bit more (because some people don't have the time to know every card). You said you would take it into consideration. BOY, DID YOU EVER. AMAZING CONTENT! You earned a new subscriber.
I got mythic for the first time today, using a skeleton deck that took a lot of inspiration from your video you made a while back. Just wanted to share my happiness and say thanks 👍
Great deck as usual I love your builds I've been playing a take on your borros deck with the red case threw 2 stingerback terrors in been doing pretty good with it
Two days ago someone surprised me with a very similar deck. They used Deathbonnet Sprout, which I think is a better 1-drop than Cenote Scout, but could possibly replace Scrapwork Mutt instead? They also played Wary Thespian and Aftermath Analyst, which are OK, but even more interestingly, they played Bitter Reunion. I think that is an amazing 2-drop for this deck, as it not only helps you fill up your graveyard, but it also gives your creatures haste to finish the game, for those cases when you just can't find Imodane's Recruiter. They also used Conduit Pylons, which not only enters untapped and surveils 1, but it can also add white source if you need to cast the adventure part of Imodane's Recruiter. What do you think?
Worth a try! I tried some of those, but this one was the cleanest for me so far! :))). I do think Bitter Reunion is a trap though since it’s not a creature itself, but open to being wrong!
@@MythicMichael Hey Mike, how is it going ? It is a sweet deck alright. Glad you mentioned Bitter Reunion. I play two of them in my build on top of the 4 recruiters. It is a good card in this deck for two reasons : first of all it allows you to put one more creature to the graveyard or discard something irrelevant. Then it only cost one to activate which means you can add a two drop to the board before attacking;). Cheers for everything. Enjoy your games!
man, always love your stuff and just so happens I gotta play gruul to avoid completing some 500 gold quests. love it when the stars align like that *edit: autocorrect doesn't believe gruul is a word. hethen*
Great stuff, though * no rare spells * is an equally intriguing, title and more accurate. Magic the gathering is a game of semantics after all. Going to re-create the deck list I did have to cash in rare wildcards to get the play set of duel lands.
Ooo. That’s my top deck if you look on my “Best Standard Climbing Decks” playlist :). Someone had just commented they were losing with it, so I tried it again and went 7-1 to get back around top 1,000 Mythic haha
Could You make some deck without cards that will rorate out soon? Don't want to waste limited resources on something that will be playable for like 2 months.
Where did you get 16 rares. Even counting rare lands it’s 11. And I’ve explained the rare land thing a bunch of times. Play with as many as you have (but they are worth the investment for any Gruul deck)
@@MythicMichael I don't mind usage of lands and stuff like that its still fun deck to play, I think it was export error, I lokked and imported again now it is 11 instead of 16. 4xTwinshot Sniper, 2xBoseiju, Who Endures, 1xSokenzan, Crucible of Defiance are gone from standard in 2 months, few days more or less, so if you already don't have the cards, its not worth to craft them, if you don't plan on playing anything else beside standard. Aside from that its fun to watch the deck in action.
Thanks!!! Still will work ok with common lands. The reason I put rare lands in my 2 color Aggro decks (even the no rares/budget ones) is because in order to compete at high level with 2-color Aggro you do need some fast lands. And since they can be used in many decks, I see them as independent from making the core deck no rares. But definitely can still play it with lifegain/crime lands! :)
@@MythicMichaelI see, thanks! You think it's worth crafting the rare lands? What about the ones rotating out soon? What are some commonly played rare lands in standard that won't rotate out? My account is new and mostly I play draft.
I believe just the slow lands are rotating, so the fast lands (2 or less come in untapped) and pain lands (1 damage) are still good. I’d say at least the fast lands in your favorite color combo is a good idea :)
Good news is much of mill is surveil which gives you card selection :). And some cards can be played back from graveyard. Also, odds are ultimately same to get cards you want off top whether you mill or don’t.
Yeah was looking at badger mill. True but I only ever remember losing the cards that I want Just getting into games now. Regardless of whether I play or or not, always appreciate artisan / budget decks coming out
I mean I made a video about Imodane’s and Varmints in spoiler season before the cards could even be played haha. But bunch have people have independently thought of this idea (Varmints with haste) and played versions :). This specific brew is something I’ve been tweaking for a while and I think is best!
Bitter reunion might be nice to add, it discards to grow burrowfiend and varmints, it draws two cards, and it can give haste if you can’t find the recruiter. Edit: saw your comment in another comment, makes sense!
Worth a try! I just don’t love it doesn’t do anything great on enter and isn’t a creature when milled. Since the main weakness this deck has is to aggro!

Already recorded, and it’s coming out Sunday :)))
you should make no rare deck but with rare suggestions
it would be sick
Hey Mike, we met again in the ladder, but this time you got me! Well played! Nice deck, I'm looking forward to try it! GGs my man!
Thanks!!! Which deck was I playing? :)
@@MythicMichael a very aggressive rakdos deck, with the bird, removal and skeletons (forsaken miner).

Hope you're enjoying your time off. Hope all is well.

Alchemist's gambit.
3 mana extra turn spell in red
plot varmits, get a huge board, no need to pray they don't have a board wipe

pretty deck, but not efficient againist selesnya and mono red
A bit rough vs mono red bird, but I’ve been able to pull off some wins there still, and had generally solid matchups besides that :)
Its funny how you play some trash being on 2 lands and are still winning 😂
I know you have been busy with your work, but I sure miss your deck building. They are straightforward, easy to play and aren’t stuffed full of rares.

You can play it with lifegain and crime lands that are commons, just a bit slower :). Dual lands a great investment for sure though!
