I’ve used these in the mountains of India during monsoon season. Nothing competes, they are absolutely the best pair of SHOES for intense off-road conditions in all weathers and climates that exist, end of story (hiking boots aside) - The only downside is they wear down quickly and I think for the price only 4-6 months wear is a bit steep

    Not only for hiking,
They are perfect for the city as well.

Which one would you choose for hiking? Adidas Terrex Ax4 Mid Gtx or Adidas FREE HIKER 2.0 GORE-TEX. Thx for your detailed videos 🙌

Hey man, gotta say I really appreciate you making just so many reviews on the gear you do
I swear for much of the footwear you review, your videos are the only actual video reviews on said item
On top of that, love watching your content getting better and better over the years, I'm talking better shots and presentation and whatnot
Good effort mate, keep it up!

    Good Review my dude.
I want these..I've always been a Nike Guy, A Fila Guy, I never owned a pair of Adidas.
After the Torsion System Boost (I don't know what model -triple black mesh) I was sold.
Adidas Torsion system are light, can take a beating and wear well comfortably, they have quality construction, and they look good anywhere.
😂 *I love your accent..everytime you say "Outsole" it sounds like as$hole. 😅

Hi, we in germany don‘t really have hard winters nowadays. I was kinda thinking about getting this shoe for fall/winter. Do you think this might be a good idea or not so much? Thank you.

Yea, for in-out day hikes, the waterproof version should definitely be sufficient. I'd get a half (maybe even full) size up to accommodate for warmer socks and you should be good for light winter use.

Im really wondering if i should buy them for working shoes, now that we have the rainy fall, with mud and other poop. Also ill have a lot of walking on thermo panels and im wondering hows the grip on it.

Had some for just over a year done about 60 miles in em. One of them leaks now already and they still look like new. (Mine are the boots tho)

Thanks for watching! Yea, as long as the fit works for you, these will be solid as a gym shoe!

Awesome, just picked these for 60 euro up to use day to day and for a hiking holiday because they look pretty casual. Glad they'll perform well in the Highlands next month 😊

I'm confused the difference between these and Terrex Free hiking 2.0.

I haven't had a chance to review Free Hiker 2.0 low version, but I did review their version with the gaiter. Free Hiker has a beefier midsole, so if you expect to do some hiking with heavier loads, you might benefit from it more. In my opinion Free Hiker is definitely a step above the AX4, but again, I haven't tried the low version yet.

I did a little research around reddit nd open internet. It found more positive reviews for Free Hikers. Free hiker seems to be more popular amongst people. Inspite of all that i ordered ax4 since looked better to me.

I am a bit confused. Is the Eastrail 2 and this the same shoe? They look identical.

    • @UltimateSurvivalGear
      @UltimateSurvivalGear  5 місяців тому +1

Yea, they are very similar. As of right now the AX4 looks like a better deal, because it is a bit cheaper, and you get a GTX waterproofing with Continental outsole. But Eastrail 2 is a great overall shoe as well.

@@UltimateSurvivalGear I just received two pairs of the eastrail 2 today. In india they were much cheaper and discounted like crazy during the end of season sale. But unfortunately, shoes from mainstream brands just aren't gonna cut it for me anymore. These shoes were supposed to be wide but even a UK8 (US9) size was tight around the toes for me. And as a 5'5" man they looked absurdly long and clown like too. I have wide feet, so I will check out a brand like Keen which recently launched in India. Or maybe import a pair of vivo barefoot shoes. Until then, I will rely on my sandals to get me through my hikes. I like the Adidas Nu Gladi sandals and I can get by with a size UK7 in them and not look weird at all. Plus they have good grip for moderate hikes. Just cannot do anything extreme in them of course. But thanks for taking the time to reply!

Just bought these. Mine have the gore-Tex waterproof membrane. I have an issue with only the right shoe, not sure if it’s a difference in my feet since my left is comfortable in this shoe, but my right Achilles has been getting abused by this shoe from rubbing and the hard heel back plate in the shoe. Also not sure if it’s the gore-Tex bit since it’s in the area of the rear gore-Tex seam. Mind you I’m still in the break in period having only worn them for 4 days now. I’m hoping the right shoe gives in and will be more comfortable to my Achilles. Hahaha!
