The updates they did in this 4th version are working for me so far. The softer Lightstrike Pro (LSP) is something I appreciate giving a soft ride to a bit of aggressive geometry. The upper is a significant improvement from version 3. It feels more comfortable and I can get a race snug fit quicker in version 4. The softer foam though is a concern for me especially from the durability standpoint. I hope it doesn't bottom-out quickly. I believe the LSP midsole of the Evo 1 has been recently called Lightstrike Pro Evo to distinguish it from the standard LSP. The LSP Evo is airier, more cushioned but probably less durable. Thanks for the review and keep up the good work. 😊
Great review as usual, love your reviews, I find everything I look for. I dont buy shoes without seeing your reviews😂. thanks for putting all the detailed reviews.

@@Eirikkinserdal probably won't hit that date but maybe later in the week. (there are already reviews out there for the shoe, and I suspect that people who will be trying for the lottery for a chance to buy from the limited drop will be buying regardless of what I say)
The lightspray is the least interesting thing about that shoe to me. The fact that, compared to the non-LS cloudboom strike, they changed the number of clouds, moved the clouds higher up in the stack, and shifted the clouds more towards the middle of the foot is what is interesting to me
always love your reviews man!! specially the shoe rotation lineup and other shoe recommendation segments! these are really really helpful. I just noticed that on this video, you haven’t included the boston 12 in the lineup. Is Boston 12 still a great purchase this late 2024 for an overall shoe? I mean from daily trainers, workouts (intervals and fartleks) or even racing in the HM and Marathon distances?
I found the AP3 laces extremely difficult to adjust, as well as challenging to find the proper fit. Curious if you experienced similar challenges and if you found the same with the AP4? Extremely well done video btw. Yeah it was long but I don’t feel like there was any fluff in there, and all of it was extremely interesting. Appreciate all the research and hard work 💪
there's a lot of similarity in the lacing, although I found it a bit easier to dial in the fit of the Adios Pro 4 because of the difference in eyelets near the toes. I think there is a bit of a difference in the grippiness of the other eyelets as well. it overall doesn't make for a huge change, but it's an improvement
I found the SL2 much faster but definitely less stable than the Supernova. The fit of the SL2 needs work, they gave me the worst ankle bite of any shoe and tore up my Achilles, They should have copy pasted the Boston 12 fit because its perfect.
@@Powellcon_ I agree with you regarding the SL2 being faster (and fun) than the Supernova. But for higher volume with less injuries, the SN is my go to for 99% of users. I didn't experience the same issues with the SL2, but did with the B12. It's the only reason why I use it less and only keep it for long runs that exceed 15k (since I find that the SL top out at about that distance) and that will at some point require faster tempo. But man, is the fitting cumbersome. In addition, that's why I chose the Puma Elite 3 over the Pro3, because I've heard too many complaints about the upper. I will however purchase the Pro4 for my 2025 marathons and probably the upcoming Evo SL to replace the B12 :)
@@Powellcon_ Again, for me the B12's upper is just to problematic. On most days, I don't need to spend 15min on getting the proper fitting and an energy rod. One just laces up the SN in 2 seconds and GO :)
Just a note: CPU outsoles are used by chinese brands since YEARS, no clue why western market didnt adope them earlier... they are insanely durable and - at least on road - very grippy
After talking with you earlier about them and a user of AP3 - I like the foam reaction and return in these - it also seems as if these don't need the break in period like the AP3 and my stride is "closer" to yours hence I took your advice on the ASICS MS Sky P and thoroughly enjoy and you did not steer me wrong. I do like the TS10 feel as well and will take your advice and look to buy the 4's and then make a "game time" decision between these and the ASICS MS Sky P for London.
I got a pair while I was in Berlin. I haven't been in a rush to test it yet as it doesn't release for a while (I know the Adios Pro 4 doesn't come out for a while either, but I wanted to talk about it while my experience racing with it was still fresh)
@kofuzi As always excellent review, do you think it will be possible to make a comparison between the adizero adios pro 4 and the asics metaspeed sky paris? Will shoes be direct competitors?
They’re competitors in that they are flagship race product, but I think there are shoes that feel more similar. I’m working on a 100 mile update to the MetaSpeed Sky Paris. Some comparisons will be made there
I know @kofuzi you aren’t a big Nike supershoe fan, but the AF3 did me right in Chicago. I found it very comfortable and responsive. I’m also a huge adios pro 3 fan. Looking forward to the 4.
The magic of the Alphafly 3 for me is how much it protects the legs Mile after mile - I finish the marathon and I feel I could run farther - 2PBs in 2 marathons with that shoe for me No idea how protective the Adidas is, thoughts?
Wow what a shoe! Am psyched that the 60/40 (or whatever) rocker geometry of the EVO1 trickled down to the AP4 even if the rubber didn't. Lightstrike Pro 1.5 sounds exciting too. But since I usually wait until shoes go on sale before picking them up, looks like I'm going to be waiting a long long time to try these. Also I would have swapped the SL with the B12 in your lineup. Not just to annoy you; I really do think it's a decent DT that absolutely _can_ do tempo when you want to save wear and tear on your better tempo trainers.
The narrower forefoot and tighter fit than the AP3 have me a little worried. The AP3 isn't the easiest shoe to fit in and I'm worried about how cramped my toes will be in the AP4. Then again I went half a size down for my current pair so maybe I'd be fine in my usual size. We'll see I guess. I'm also looking forward to the Evo SL.
Thanks for the video man. Looking forwards to the 4 because I love the 3, but I will say even though I'm fully in the 3 stripes, the way they're handling the release for these and the Evo Sl is really off putting
there's only one other brand that I can think of that will have people race in the shoe, several months prior to the launch date, and I don't like it when that brand does it either. and while I get (and was encouraging for months) the need to have a shoe update for the 50th Berlin Marathon that they are a sponsor of and is held in their home country, I wish the broader release would have followed. like, imagine if it was like: (1) Berlin debut, (2) Chicago limited drop, (3) New York colorway, and then (4) January 2025 release. I recognize that so many things need to line up in order to get inventory in the right places in the world at the right times and in the right quantities, but man that would have been an impressive rollout.
@kofuzi Absolutely. I can understand that coordinating inventory across multiple continents is tricky (not that they don't already have those systems in place but still), but I feel like with a company the size of Adidas they could have had at least a limited launch for Chicago and NYC as well as berlin. That could have offered at least a token gesture to the common folk that they aren't forgotten about (not to sound dramatic), and that they can have a chance to get it for their race, and not just the media folks. I am happy that most other brands are still, at least on what we see on this side, holding to the 1ish month embargo drop to release. Oh well, I will say in general I was disappointed with Adidas' presence at Chicago, I expected to at least be able to pick up a Takumi or AP3, I get that it's very much their competitors event but just having the Supernova and Ultraboost was disappointing, especially when folks like Puma brought things like the Fast RB, Asics had the full spectrum, etc
I'm very excited for this shoe, but a little disappointed they couldn't have it released to the general public prior to fall marathon season, I would have loved to race in it. Hopefully once January comes around it will be readily available and not a situation where we're still hoping to buy a pair for next fall marathon season!
I think it was a real miss, and I got the sense that it was a major breakthrough just to get enough for pros and reviewers to have the shoe in time for Berlin. I'm hoping that with positive feedback from Berlin and a January release date, they will be able to do a good job of predicting how many units they need to meet demand for the Spring marathon season.
Thanks for the insight of Alphafly3. I've never seen anyone say an issue with the material at the ankle before. It cuts one of my ankles, after running only 10km with long socks, a red mark remained on the ankle and now the shoes are in a box. I was thinking how to solve the problem, because the store did not take the shoes back. Maybe add another shoe sole. There were no problems with the first version or Vaporfly 1, 2, 3.
I had the Ekiden version of Vaporly 4% flyknit, and that one cut me up so bad. It started out as a white upper but didn't stay that way for long. A longer/taller sock solved the issue for me.
I ran London in the AP3 because i knew it was the reliable option, but all my PRs in distances below marathon are in the Alphafly1. I have my next big marathon in April and I’m so torn as to whether to get the AP4, the AF3 or maybe even the Sky Paris. The cost of these shoes makes getting it “wrong” a very tricky issue to navigate around!
Hi Ko nice review as always. Just want to ask an opinion is it okay for people to buy shoes from 2 or 3 years back? Is the years will affect the performance of the shoes midsole even the shoes is brand new?
I haven't seen anyone do any sort of formal or even anecdotal research on this. so I'll speculate and here's my thinking: on the one hand, shoes are made out of materials that I imagine won't biodegrade for several thousand years. on the other hand, having seen shoes in the Adidas Archive that were from the 80s and are literally crumbling apart despite being stored in a humidity and temperature controlled space, my gut reaction would be that it would depend on who you're getting the shoe from and how the shoe was stored over time. so I would venture a guess of: 2 years old? probably fine. 5 years old? I'd probably stay away.
@@kofuzi thank you because right now in my place there is a lot of model that are from 2-4 years ago being heavily discounted. I myself just got a Endorphin Speed 2 from Saucony. So it just occur my mind to ask. Great opinion from you and thank you again
Great review! I was looking forward to this. I may get a pair + another pair for someone else. But one thing: You don't have to disclose. Anything. Knowing you admire BITR, I will use them as a counterpoint. They disclose no shoe origins. Ever. Not the fact that they get every reviewed shoe for free. Usually several pair. (They only got a single Evo 1.) They most certainly don't tell us who pays for their flamboyant trips all over the world. The Diadora trip to Italy? Just a little vacay. Sometimes a sponsor is mentioned for the flight/hotel/entry/pre- and post-race festivities for a marathon. NB for NYC one year. Could'nt tell if they plugged adidas during the Berlin trip. (I didn't listen to their long-form show about it.) They don't even admit to being married. You have, of course discussed this with them, but we, the viewers are never told. And they certainly don't confess to how the hundreds of shoes they review get there. Some say you HAVE TO disclose. Some say it is illegal NOT to. But Believe never has. Ever. And nothing has happened to them.
Hey Mike! thanks for your thoughts! How does is stack up feel wise against the Metaspeed Sky +/Paris? Im a bit of a fresher runner and usually love Asics shoes but when I tried the Metaspeed Sky + I found them a bit stiff & almost feeling like a positive drop with a mountain I have to climb in every step. So now im looking at the AP4 or the AF3 for my next Marathon.
Would the Evo SL be a replacement for the Adizero SL in that lineup? And would that be superior to the normal SL in a marathon build due to being a better long run shoe?
I havne't run in my Evo SL yet. I'll get to it eventually, but probably not for another week or so. in the meantime, there are a lot of other reviewers who have already posted their thoughts. I'd recommend checking them out.
I think it is a good incremental evolution and I would like to get a pair some time but I am not in a rush as I have a variety of supershoes in my possession. I actually didn't race in AP3. I used my pair for a few longer long runs in a marathon cycle and they worked well for that purpose. However, I am contemplating running CIM in AP3. I am probably not going to be in a PR shape so I think it is a good opportunity to use my pair in a race. I think the biggest plus of AP4 over v3 is the upper. Those that didn't get along with v3 upper will cherish this one.
Hello Kofuzi! I’ve got really surprised with the comparison to the Alpha 3. Is it similar than the Endorphin Pro 4 or the Nitro Elite 3 or even MetaSpeed?
I’ve been doing the alternatives section in my review videos for a while now, and I typically choose the shoes that feel most similar or are trying to achieve the most similar feel. This time, I thought I’d choose one that people would most want to hear about, despite the fact that they feel very different.
Sweet shoe, though it will be hard to improve upon the AP3, at least for me. But I can't wait to see! In the meantime, so PUMPED for the Evo SL. If its the shoe I think it will be, I doubt I'll be purchasing any other road shoe in 2025 aside from the AP4.
Would like your input on 2 things: 1. With colder weather around the corner in North America, would you consider comparing the different shoes in winter conditions? 2. What’s your take on using the racer’s loop (heel lock)?
I'm very excited about the Adios Pro 4. However, as a shoe retailer store manager, something that most people liked about the Adios Pro 3 is that it was a good shoe for slower runners that don't run faster paces. People that run 10-11 min/miles didn't feel like you needed to be a faster runner to get the best out of it. I'm afraid the aggressive new rocker will make this shoe not slow runner friendly.
@@yeet76231 For the most part it looks and feels (on step in) very aggressive but on the run it's nowhere near as aggressive. Most slower paced customers go for the Adios Pro 3 or the SuperComp Elite v4.
No one that’s running 10-11 min/miles has any business spending that much money on a super shoe. I’m all for the democratization of running tech, it’s objectively awesome, but that’s an absolutely insane choice of shoe.
Even as a 6:30ish/mile half marathoner I told myself Im not getting a super shoe until my mile times are in the 5 minute range. I think if your mile times are 10/11 minutes you should probably work on getting to a better BMI and slowly building weekly mileage volume comfortably. And there is nothing comfort about carbon plates. Just my two cents.
I've discussed it over on IG. I don't plan on giving it a formal review here on UA-cam. and really, there's not a lot more I would say over what I have in this video. it's part of the reason why this video is so much longer than usual for my reviews. I feel like I hit all the main points I'd want to for a review of that shoe
it's been a crazy week. I filmed this way past my bedtime, and talking on camera is a bit more difficult when I'm exhausted. a lot of my words are mumbled/slurred from being tired. I normally would reshoot, but I just didn't have the time.
I can't remember if I was talking to someone a retailer or a colleague, but I vaguely recall hearing that the Adistar BYD was not picked up by any US retailers. I'm not sure it's actually available to me in the US.
i have vaporfly 3, adios pro 3, prime X strung and alphafly 3. Alphafly is by far the loudest! can't sneak up on anyone with and no worry of people not aware of you running behind towards them
Hi! Like your videos! Question. You have a supinated foot stride. I overpronate. How relevante would you say your review of shoes would be for me since we have different gait?
I’ve been an Altra fan forever… I rotated two pairs of escalantes for years. The 3rd gen wasn’t the best and I am maybe thinking of breaking up with Altra… tough decision especially after this video
Would you say that the AP4 is pretty close to maybe a revival of the feel of a Prime X Strung 1? Maybe I can stop looking for and hoarding my growing collection of PXS1’s? Haha
Great review, but its only for my eyes only 😢 some people are just previlidged to wear, experience all thse wonderful technology first hand 😊 i can only Envy 😊 ❤
Adidas should have two running shoes: (1) The Adios Pro with its rods, elite foam, and thin outsole and (2) the regular Adios which would have the same foam, a thicker rubber outsole, and no rods.
can it? I suppose. is it durable enough? again, I suppose. it's an expensive way to run 400 miles though. and there are a lot of shoes I'd pick instead for daily training. but it's your money and your feet. when it comes to running shoes, I always recommend that people do what makes them happy
@@kofuzi Yes that's for sure, I was just thinking of maybe picking up the 3's at a discount for a dedicated long run/marathon/LT effort shoe. At 180 I don't know what other shoe I should consider? Would love to try the superblast but that's more expensive and way harder to find...
Hi, something happened to me, and I can now walk 6 kilometers maximum, or about an hour an half. I average less than that, for the last five months. Usually about thirty minutes a day. I can run. But, if I do, I will not recover, for a very long time. I have understood this, and tried many things. I can run for about a minute. But, slow. I know what happens to me, and if I did that repeatedly or went harder or longer, even by a little, I won't be able to get out of bed for at least three weeks, for the most part. I have the Nimbus 25's. I want another shoe. But, I have "special" needs. I don't know the correct answer. But, I think the Glide Ride Max from Asics may be good. I viewed your videos several times before asking you this question. Maybe, something that I think is faster, like a Novablast 3, could be nicer. But, it is very risky, if I push like even a few seconds too much. I will be bedridden. So, I think it could be good, just to go with-for me a fast shoe. But, use it, only for less than a minute. However, I suspect the correct choice for me, would be the Glide Ride Max. Because, realistically I will be walking in the shoe. But, I want to make some progress, and it's not a simple situation for me, with a high level of Fibromyalgia. I just don't recover, unless on additional testosterone,... But, I don't know about it, and can't afford professional advice. So, I can't do it. But, now I can walk after, several years of being bedridden. Sorry, for this long post, about shoe advice. But, I need help. Thank you.
I've been told it will be. (I recall one discussion a very long time ago that hinted that durability benchmarks was part of the reason why the Adios Pro 4 update was taking so long. I think Adidas would probably disclaim that statement now, but that's what I recall being told at one point in regards to a different prototype that was a potential Adios Pro 4 candidate).
Mike I noticed over the course of a few years that you complain about heel lockdown a lot and I never see the runner’s loop hole in use - does that not solve the problem for the marginal cases where the lockdown is close to acceptable?
the lockdown typically never bothers me. if it were just about me, I'd say, fit is great. but I can sense when some runners who are more susceptible to heel lockdown problems may experience fit issues. and I try to flag that.
WR kind of are, at least in the eyes of that portion of the purchasing public who complain that running is about shoes these days and not about the running anymore. But, I have frequently also pointed out that some elite athletes can run in anything and do well, as evidenced by the fact that the Under Armour Velociti Elite 2 didn’t exactly start flying off the shelves, even though Sharon Lokedi won the NYC marathon and came in second in Boston in them
Really getting tired of (some) companies updating/modifying foams without updating the name. Nike is also really bad about this, just a simple 2.0 will do, or if it's minor add a +. It's irritating finding a good foam that works for my size/stride, then buying an updated shoe with the "same" foam and it's a completely different feel.
some companies are worse about that than others, but I think what also makes it difficult for consumers is that, even if the foams are exactly the same, changing the amount of foam and/or the geometry of the foam can also have a substantial impact of whether foams feel the same. and so it frequently leaves me scratching my head and wondering, did they do something to this foam or what is going on here?
Just because they won marathons in the AF3, doesn’t mean it’s the fastest shoe. Let me see what happens when they run in the EVO. Also, any PED use going on? Sure, it might help some but not that much. Records are being broke too frequently and my guess is, it’s probably not the shoes. 💉
it's laughable to me that: when I posted a reel on IG about the Metaspeed Sky Prototype that John Korir used to win the men's race, the comments were full of people complaining that the shoes do too much and that shoe brands are ruining the sport. here, I say something nice about Nike, and people are all like, the shoes don't do 💩
no no no no.. Narrower isn't better, narrower is worse. We all have been running on too narrow shoes for too long. Come on Adidas, the best of the Pro 3 is the forefoot fit
I think there are 2 distinct kinds of narrow, and I believe you and I are talking about a different kind of narrow. the footprint of the shoe vs the last of the shoe. you're talking about the last or shape of the upper. I'm preferring the narrowness (or more specifically, the lack of bulbous wideness in the forefoot) of the base of the shoe. (that being said, I recognize that I've identified the fit of the Adios Pro 4 as being slightly more snug than the Adios Pro 3)
@@kofuzi We've had this discussion in cycling for over 15 years. The insiders would call every wider tire too much, the narrower felt faster more nimble less sluggish.. Now they have settled on a tire which holds 75% more air.. would have been laughed at. They found out that feeling fast and nimble induces fatigue, the fatigue will cancel out initial benefit and then some. The same is happening in running (Fastest trails shoes i have are the adios pro 3, yup trail. The are awesome on trails in the Alps. The pro 4 with a reduction in rubber, looks less hot but prob better on tarmac)
I once won my age group in a local 5k and set a PB in Takumi Sen 9. The guy in front of me ran in Brooks Ghost. The first marathon I ran, I got beat by a dude in a dunkin donuts cup of coffee costume. I once ran a 10k, and I got out kicked in the final 50m of the race by a child on my left and a very old grey man on my right. I could go on about the ways in which I've been humbled in running.
361° are making waves, so hopefully people will open up to Chinese brands.
I do like the TS10 feel as well and will take your advice and look to buy the 4's and then make a "game time" decision between these and the ASICS MS Sky P for London.
thanks for the feedback!
Have you gotten your hands on the evo SL yet?
I got a pair while I was in Berlin. I haven't been in a rush to test it yet as it doesn't release for a while (I know the Adios Pro 4 doesn't come out for a while either, but I wanted to talk about it while my experience racing with it was still fresh)
Excited for this shoe!
hope you get a chance to try it soon!
I think people can certainly enjoy all three shoes. they're just all very different experiences.
@@kofuzi I will say the AF2 made my ankle bleed because my socks were too low (as you alluded to in your video same issue could happen on 3)
The magic of the Alphafly 3 for me is how much it protects the legs Mile after mile - I finish the marathon and I feel I could run farther - 2PBs in 2 marathons with that shoe for me
No idea how protective the Adidas is, thoughts?
I enjoyed them for Berlin
"BABE COME QUICK Kofuzi just dropped a fresh new line for the disclosures!!"
got to stay one step ahead
i thought i was the only one to notice 😂
I do not know that, thanks for pointing it out. makes me watch the video again 🤓
Not just to annoy you; I really do think it's a decent DT that absolutely _can_ do tempo when you want to save wear and tear on your better tempo trainers.
it's a good shoe, but if the Boston weren't called the Boston, I'd like it a lot more.
Why not recommend the asics $250 class options as an alternative?
there are so many other options to discuss, but this video is already nearing 20 minutes. for a shoe review, it's already way too long for my liking
I haven't seen anyone do any sort of formal or even anecdotal research on this. so I'll speculate and here's my thinking:
on the one hand, shoes are made out of materials that I imagine won't biodegrade for several thousand years. on the other hand, having seen shoes in the Adidas Archive that were from the 80s and are literally crumbling apart despite being stored in a humidity and temperature controlled space, my gut reaction would be that it would depend on who you're getting the shoe from and how the shoe was stored over time.
so I would venture a guess of:
2 years old? probably fine.
Can’t wait to get the chance to buy this shoe, a mere three months after all the influencers have got to play with them
hope you enjoy!
Still considering your reviews to be amongst they best!
Thank you
Great review! I was looking forward to this. I may get a pair + another pair for someone else. But one thing:
You don't have to disclose. Anything. Knowing you admire BITR, I will use them as a counterpoint. They disclose no shoe origins. Ever. Not the fact that they get every reviewed shoe for free. Usually several pair. (They only got a single Evo 1.)
They most certainly don't tell us who pays for their flamboyant trips all over the world. The Diadora trip to Italy? Just a little vacay. Sometimes a sponsor is mentioned for the flight/hotel/entry/pre- and post-race festivities for a marathon. NB for NYC one year. Could'nt tell if they plugged adidas during the Berlin trip. (I didn't listen to their long-form show about it.)
They don't even admit to being married. You have, of course discussed this with them, but we, the viewers are never told. And they certainly don't confess to how the hundreds of shoes they review get there.
Some say you HAVE TO disclose. Some say it is illegal NOT to. But Believe never has. Ever. And nothing has happened to them.
this is how I do it. how other people do it is up to them
I just got my AP3 earlier this January, looks like I know what to get next year once my AP3 reached its mileage!
have fun!
Hey Mike! thanks for your thoughts!
Material is “like money” is there more apt description. Yes with the price it’s like wearing money 😅 love your work! Hello from Melbourne Australia
How would you compare the Adios Pro 4 ride and midsole feeling to the Deviate Nitro Elite 3 or the Metaspeed Edge Paris?
I think it is a good incremental evolution and I would like to get a pair some time but I am not in a rush as I have a variety of supershoes in my possession. I actually didn't race in AP3. I used my pair for a few longer long runs in a marathon cycle and they worked well for that purpose. However, I am contemplating running CIM in AP3. I am probably not going to be in a PR shape so I think it is a good opportunity to use my pair in a race.
I think the biggest plus of AP4 over v3 is the upper. Those that didn't get along with v3 upper will cherish this one.
good luck in CIM!
@@kofuzi Thanks!
Yup, I agree with the rough edges of the Alphafly 3. The Vaporfly 3 is much much better.
If its the shoe I think it will be, I doubt I'll be purchasing any other road shoe in 2025 aside from the AP4.
thanks for comparing the AF3 and die Adios Pro 4 ... two complete different shows ... but top race products.
thanks for watching!
Would like your input on 2 things:
1. With colder weather around the corner in North America, would you consider comparing the different shoes in winter conditions?
2. What’s your take on using the racer’s loop (heel lock)?
The EVO felt more like next level of TS. It seems that now they moved that feeling to AP.
The Evo 1 felt like a super Takumi for me too
I'm very excited about the Adios Pro 4.
Interesting that you think it works for slower paces. Every customer I've had that tried them on said they're incredibly aggressive
@@yeet76231 For the most part it looks and feels (on step in) very aggressive but on the run it's nowhere near as aggressive. Most slower paced customers go for the Adios Pro 3 or the SuperComp Elite v4.
@@yeet76231 Doctors of Running recently released an article saying the same thing. AP3 is more accessible to slow runners.
Ive got give these Adidas shoes a try. Im looking for my first proper race shoe
hope you enjoy!
King is back
Great review! Did you ever release a review on the Alphafly 3?
I've discussed it over on IG. I don't plan on giving it a formal review here on UA-cam. and really, there's not a lot more I would say over what I have in this video. it's part of the reason why this video is so much longer than usual for my reviews. I feel like I hit all the main points I'd want to for a review of that shoe
2:15 kofuzi got konfuzi
it's been a crazy week. I filmed this way past my bedtime, and talking on camera is a bit more difficult when I'm exhausted. a lot of my words are mumbled/slurred from being tired. I normally would reshoot, but I just didn't have the time.
@@kofuzi all good bro. It was an awesome detailed review regardless
Waiting for Adizero Boston 13 to be release
I wonder if the ride similar to Paris Sky or Ceilo X1.
not really, but if I had to rank one of them as closer, I'd say Cielo X1
@@kofuzi that's nice. Thx
How do the Adios Pro 4 and the Alphafly 3 compare to the Saucony Endorphin Elite?
What do you think about the Adistar BYD? Im planning on buying for my long runs and recovery run.
I can't remember if I was talking to someone a retailer or a colleague, but I vaguely recall hearing that the Adistar BYD was not picked up by any US retailers. I'm not sure it's actually available to me in the US.
@@kofuzi so sad to hear that, i would gladly hear a review from you if it was available there.
i have vaporfly 3, adios pro 3, prime X strung and alphafly 3. Alphafly is by far the loudest! can't sneak up on anyone with and no worry of people not aware of you running behind towards them
I think the noise issue tends to get overstated. but yeah, they do indeed make noise
Do you know if this clear crystal rubber in the Adios Pro 4 is a similar material used in the Ultraboost 5x ?
Thanks.
Good video! I'll buy one soon.
Question about feet sizing. I'm 8.5US on Ap3, should i get same size as well on AP 4? Thanks! 😊
I went with the same size for each model
Did they fix the eyelet bite/lace bite above the big toe metatarsal area?
The durability of the outsole is important, wouldn't mind an extra 10grams per shoe 🤔
you sure the current weight doesn't already reflect that preference?
I guess time will tell. The adios pro 3 is one of the most durable shoes. And if the 4 lives up to that it's all good 👍 unless the rods snap though 😅
Will we be finally getting the Alphafly 3 review?
you pretty much got everything I needed to say about it in this video (it's part of the reason why the video is so long)
True, but kind of a miss that you couldn't make solo video review for arguably the most famous race shoe to come out this year.
Thank you Mike.
thanks for stopping by!

not really, especially with the changed rocker position.
I’ll keep hoarding then 👍🏼

_Are you hearing a galloping horse or is it actually a couple of runners in Alphafly 3?_
Like from 🇪🇸 Spain. Happy weekend.
Looking' for Adizero Evo SL.
I thought you were going to put the Boston 12 at the end of the rotation shoes XD.
It could go there
Does the side of the shoe still cut into the bottom ankle area, that was a big problem on the Pro 3 for me
I can't answer that as I did not experience what you experienced on the Adios Pro 3
Will Evo SL replace the Strung 2?
I haven't run in my Evo SL yet, but I would be surprised if that's where it ended up in my Adidas rotation
Adidas should have two running shoes: (1) The Adios Pro with its rods, elite foam, and thin outsole and (2) the regular Adios which would have the same foam, a thicker rubber outsole, and no rods.
there is a regular Adios
Can this shoe be used as a general long run shoe? Is it durable enough to log like 400 miles on it?
can it? I suppose.
is it durable enough? again, I suppose.
it's an expensive way to run 400 miles though. and there are a lot of shoes I'd pick instead for daily training. but it's your money and your feet. when it comes to running shoes, I always recommend that people do what makes them happy
@@kofuzi Yes that's for sure, I was just thinking of maybe picking up the 3's at a discount for a dedicated long run/marathon/LT effort shoe. At 180 I don't know what other shoe I should consider? Would love to try the superblast but that's more expensive and way harder to find...
Is this a use once and it’s done like the evo 1????
No, and the evo 1 isn’t exactly one and done
No Boston 12 for rotation?
Not in my rotation, but for a lot of people yes

Thank you.
unfortunately, I do not have the expertise to answer this question
@@kofuzi Thank you.
I appreciate it. Best wishes.
Do you think adios pro 4 is as durable as adios pro 3?
I've been told it will be. (I recall one discussion a very long time ago that hinted that durability benchmarks was part of the reason why the Adios Pro 4 update was taking so long. I think Adidas would probably disclaim that statement now, but that's what I recall being told at one point in regards to a different prototype that was a potential Adios Pro 4 candidate).
@@kofuzi thanks
Mike I noticed over the course of a few years that you complain about heel lockdown a lot and I never see the runner’s loop hole in use - does that not solve the problem for the marginal cases where the lockdown is close to acceptable?
the lockdown typically never bothers me. if it were just about me, I'd say, fit is great.
but I can sense when some runners who are more susceptible to heel lockdown problems may experience fit issues. and I try to flag that.
And I was wondering why this video is so long… turns out it contains an easter egg that is the review of the Alphafly 3 many have been asking for.
he is so good i can not sub
WRs are not arguments for AF3; nobody ask them do they want to wear AF3 or not
WR kind of are, at least in the eyes of that portion of the purchasing public who complain that running is about shoes these days and not about the running anymore.
But, I have frequently also pointed out that some elite athletes can run in anything and do well, as evidenced by the fact that the Under Armour Velociti Elite 2 didn’t exactly start flying off the shelves, even though Sharon Lokedi won the NYC marathon and came in second in Boston in them
Affirmative
it's laughable to me that:
when I posted a reel on IG about the Metaspeed Sky Prototype that John Korir used to win the men's race, the comments were full of people complaining that the shoes do too much and that shoe brands are ruining the sport.
here, I say something nice about Nike, and people are all like, the shoes don't do 💩
I have the adizero sl2 and the heel lock down is deff not there but deff feels good for easy/easy + runs

We've had this discussion in cycling for over 15 years.
The same is happening in running
(Fastest trails shoes i have are the adios pro 3, yup trail. The are awesome on trails in the Alps. The pro 4 with a reduction in rubber, looks less hot but prob better on tarmac)
Not sure my ego could take wearing this shoe and having runners in Pegs or Kayanos passing me.
They are great stories and part of what makes running great.
