    If you connect the vidiu with an ethernet, do you still set up the ipad under "wifi" mode? Or will you need to hook up the Ethernet to the ipad?

    • @Teradek
      @Teradek  3 роки тому

      Depends on your network. If you are setting up the Vidiu X at a spot that has a Wi-Fi router or existing network, and that Wi-Fi router / network allows access between Wi-Fi clients and wired clients (access is common on home networks, but usually blocked at venues like hotels / coffee shops / convention centers, etc.), then you can connect the iPad over Wi-Fi and have the Vidiu X wired in over Ethernet.
      If they don't control the network, and don't get this access, then yes, you would have to connect the iPad / iPhone / any device with a web browser to the Vidiu X in AP mode in order to allow it to be controlled, because there has to be a network path between them to allow communication.

    18W PD battery packs DON'T work! Teradek should specify wattage for PD power banks. 18w runs the unit briefly but it continually restarts (power draw issue), no problem off the AC pack. The AC pack is a 30W PD unit.

    • @Teradek
      @Teradek  3 роки тому +1

      The power bank needs to be USB-C Power Delivery (PD) compliant, and USB-C PD power sources and devices will negotiate the voltage used from the different power profiles each one supports. If you contact Support at teradek.com/support and provide more details on the make and model of the power bank, we can help troubleshoot! Manufacturers are known to silently change / update their product internals without changing the outside name or model number, and sometimes there are quirks in a specific model or brand.

      @sqmediavideo 3 роки тому +1

      @@Teradek Having the power supply being USB-C Power Delivery (PD) compliant is not the issue. The issue is the Wattage requirements for the device. You can have a PD power source that is 18W, 30W, 45W, 100W (each wattage has a different maximum Voltage & Amperage capabilities). Teradek does not have any documentation that states the Vidiu X minimum power requirements measured in Watts. A 18W PD power supply does not work & Teradek needs to do better by supplying documentation for minimum power requirements

    Hi I am using vidiu pro and vidiu x. Streaming with vidiu x is supported only 25 frames also in the live I am getting pixelated video. My camera send 50k frame rate but If I select frame rate 50 in web Ip interface it’s streams 25 frames only. Kindly advice me for 50 frames live stream with vidiux .

    Can you stream with zoom, webex, gotomeeting and so on?

    • @Teradek
      @Teradek  3 роки тому +2

      Hi Aubisoka! The Vidiu encoder line outputs an RTMP stream, and at this time, Zoom cannot ingest this type of stream according to their technical support. The Vidiu will need to send to an RTMP server of some sort through the 3rd party system. In order to accomplish this, Zoom will need to change their platform, to accept some sort of standard camera workflows, currently, Zoom only uses webcams.
      It may be possible to convert the RTSP stream to a virtual webcam with a secondary software like vlc2vcam but we have not tested it. Feel free to try it and let us know if you do!

      @@phcphcphc The Vidiu Go or Vidiu X cannot share its internet access with other devices. It can create an access point but that will purely be for configuration or for sharing mobile data with the Vidiu.

    Just given back the Vidiu X as its not for a PRO user. You cant change the Profile Main to Baseline etc, unit keeps dropping out and so I loose the stream. The deinterlacing is set to ON and cannot be turned off yet the unit WILL NOT deinterlace the stream. Had a massive outage on Sharelink in the middle of my broadcast to England, no email notification that work will be commencing and Teradek do NOT have a redundant (on AWS) server which means, IM OFF THE AIR for the entire time.. Sorry frustrated customer here, but I did like that then Vidiu X had the ability to kick over to anoth internet source if 1 died using RTMP/S. Also it had a bug were it would not show WIFI functionality only Ethernet and USB Modem capable.
    Received a second unit, exact same sympton bar the WIFI issue. The bloody power pack sometimes doesnt work either, I needed to use a standard usb C power.

      @Teradek  3 роки тому

      Thank you for your feedback! I have relayed it to our team, and I see that our Support team has assisted you through these issues. Vidiu X is made for beginner streamers, not pro users, therefore many of its features are plug-and-play. RTMP streaming improvements will be included in the next firmware update. High Profile encoded H.264 video will give the best video quality at a given bitrate compared to Main or Baseline profile. Viewing devices (phones, computers, etc.) are capable of receiving and displaying High Profile video, and major streaming platforms (CDNs) support receiving High Profile encoded H.264, so it's the greatest benefit to both the Vidiu user and their audience to encode at the highest supported video quality. Additionally, the Vidiu platform wasn't intended to have the same options as the professional level streaming encoders from Teradek, and leaves out options like Baseline or Main or High profile because they're not key factors to the Vidiu series audience. The Vidiu X is actually deinterlacing the stream, the issue relates to video quality; platforms like UA-cam and Facebook do not accept interlaced video signals, but the encoded signal received is deinterlaced. The issue is related to the algorithm used for combining the interlaced fields, and this is under investigation by the engineering team to improve the encoded video quality compared to the current algorithm. Improvements are already underway in the customer-facing alert systems for our cloud streaming platforms. I checked your Support case and the Wi-Fi issue was related to the original unit, and was swapped out by the reseller. The Vidiu X has a USB-C power input on the chassis, and it's always recommended to use USB-C Power Delivery (PD) sources; if using a standard USB source with an adapter to USB-C, it may not be capable of outputting sufficient power for use with the Vidiu X.

    when the network drops for a couple seconds or a minute does the vidiu X reconnect the stream by itself?

    • @Teradek
      @Teradek  3 роки тому +1

      The Vidiu X will auto-reconnect once, so it will be able to handle short disconnections. We're working on a more robust auto-reconnect option for manual RTMP streaming, which will try to auto-reconnect indefinitely. Stay tuned!

    How do I connect the vidiu to my pc? I bought this so i can use it OBS and make different scenes but i can only directly connect to streaming platforms. Please help

    • @Teradek
      @Teradek  3 роки тому +1

      Most users of OBS and our encoders will utilize RTMP. In OBS look to your Sources and find the RTMP ingest stream key and url. Take this info and input to you Vidiu X like in this tutorial: support.teradek.com/hc/en-us/articles/1500001541921-How-to-Stream-to-Via-RTMP-with-Your-Vidiu-X-Via-the-Vidiu-App
      If you cannot find it in OBS, check out Lightstream as they have a similar functionality to ingest an RTMP source. In this tutorial, they're actually showing OBS as the RTMP source (instead of Vidiu X) and being ingested into Lightstream. help.golightstream.com/en/article/how-to-use-an-rtmp-source-with-obs-studio-171zx5j/
