I got the serrated version of this! Serrated blades are FAR more destructive against flesh, I cant think of a more effective knife for combat than this. This blade will truly offer maximum damage against adversaries if your back is against the wall. I ordered one and showed my dad, then he threw me a $100 bill and said, “Order me one too!”
Absolutely, and this knife is light! you can thrust & stab a hell of alot faster then with a Ontario SP10. As much as I like that knife too. For an emergency quick scenario this thing will work better for speed that's for sure.
When I got mine it was pretty much only good for chopping. The grind angle was so steep I cant get that angle on my lansky sharpener. Also, mine is not hollow ground like others ive seen. Mine is flat ground making it much thicker at the edge. Also again, mine came as stone washed where others ive seen are satin. Im disappointed.
Yep this and the 1917 frontier bowie and the drop forged 9.5 inch bowie, and the chaos bowie all from cold steel, and they have several other options as well!!!
A Bowie knife is a weapon, so, it's really only a one use option, therefore, the steel type doesn't really matter,.. It's for defending yourself, and chopping parts off adversaries,, so... AUS8 is just fine,,, imho..
My thought exactly. Looks to me like an easy project. Just secure it in a vice and saw down the handle lengthwise. Amazon and Ebay both have project guards. Grip scales can be made easily of course. I might have to do this and make a sort of Hell's Belle inspired knife. (Sharpen the false edge too of course..
@@dobypilgrim6160 Yup it is very possible and sounds like you have a plan in mind ,I like the handle on the Marauder but I also like the idea of having that blade with a customized guard and encapsulated handle as well.
You're not doing a review of a knife on it's as is pro's & con's if you modify it in any way. test it as is and then modify it the way you like it later.
Aus 8 was a super steel in the 1990s its still a great blade steel 440c is still a pretty good steel for fighting knives it holds a good edge when heat treated right buck uses 420 high carbon still its good because of a proper heat treatment !
You don't need to say anything. No one thinks that, the reviewer explicitly says "it's not going to deflect an incoming blade, it's just Kraton" at 10:07
@@bruceleroy8063 very true!!!! The blade is not a big enough part of people's lives anymore in a battle fashion for anyone to be very proficient compared to guys hundreds of years ago where they literally lived by the blade. The days of dueling where you block parry and counterattack are gone even the people who do it professionally would get their butts kicked by people that actually lived in whatever historic period that you wanted to pull a specific blade from.
I used a tuff lite to remove my subhilt on my serrated marauder. Precision. This knife has a girl grip. There's a reason they had that girl do the cut tests in the video. I used bike tube to thicken up the grip.
Good gravy here we go again so you do a review on the knife that you've already modified not reviewed its merits out of the box.... And then modified after the fact and then ruin the handle completely by putting on paracord that will not provide any Grip once wet...... Just a poor review and I'm glad you haven't made any videos in 2 years

You can now get the stonewashed version that Saber ground for as low as 68 bucks!!!

Kudos on the tek lok! I love them!
Looks like a great knife. Nice modifications. Sometimes a little modifications can made a big difference. Thanks for sharing and reviewing. 😎👍
That's a good modification on that subhilt ,,,and it is wicked sharp,,,good all around Bowie,,👍✌
coolplayz Nogame I think I’m going to do the same .
For a kill blade. It is just perfect. Even if it costed 200 dollars i would still buy their knives
I like the guard and subhilt myself fits my goofy hand just right great slicer and stabber !
It takes only a few minutes practice to learn how to maximize retention and retraction with the sub-hilt.
removed my subhilt too, now it's even more kickass. It is my go to beater.
RazzerKrull That is a great idea . I might just do the same .
Where did you buy that tak lok? I bought one but it’s too small . Could you send me a link?

Take it to a professional I could get that knife hair popping sharp in ten minutes or less easy
When hae you ever needed a steel guard?
It's not like there is much to choose from with bowie knives. I'd say that this one is one of their better options unless you custom order one.

No a knife is a knife ... it cuts things
Could that whole handle and guard be removed and redone with a real guard and maybe a wood handle?

Why bother.
Yes I redo all kinds of factory bowies I make brass guards and put stag handles on them

Just wait until the paracord gets bloody!!! It'll be fun to clean!!!
WTF ? You modified this set up !
I just wish the hand guard wasn't plastic on these.
If you think you're going to block someone's bowie strike with your bowie's guard I don't know what to say.
