      Thanks Ryan!! Getting as far back as possible in the back country is what gives me an edge over any channel that I've come across here on the Nature coast.....Have a great weekend!!

    Nice trout. Good to see them showing up. Beautiful multi spot red. Nothing like backwater refuge fishing.

      Thanks Lee!! I hadn't been to this area in a while....I always like wandering into this creek.....It has a very unique look to it.....If there weren't so many downed palms I could get a lot farther back in there!!

      Thanks Vincent!! You know I didn't think about the difference between the Salt and Freshwater species.....I had a friend catch a 29" 7 lb. Monsta' a few weeks ago in the Panhandle of North Florida.....Mine looked a nice swimming bait.....LOL!!

      Thanks Dave!! My first Mega Spotter and I can't remember a Manatee ever walking up to the boat.....I'm knot sure anyone knows where this freshwater creek is.....If there weren't so many downed palms I could get another 1/4 mile to the east into this creek.....Enjoy your weekend!!

      Thanks Randy...To my knowledge it's unique....It almost has a driveway feel....If it didn't have so many downed palms I could get back there another 100 yards closer to the head spring.....I've been to the head and it's not easy to get to....In fact once was enough because of the distance!!

      Thanks Wayn!! Way to much great weather down here to get on the water in nasty conditions!! My new motor doesn't seem to scare Manatees.....Fuel efficiency is 25% better and the bite continues to improve almost every trip to the Refuge!!

      @WesLovelace  5 місяців тому

      Thanks!! I've got access to freshwater springs and creeks that empty into the Gulf.....They are our major source of drinking water and most of the saltwater species are freshwater tolerant!! This new motor is so quiet I'm sneakin' up on the Manatees....LOL!!

      Thanks Icy!! I never know what a trip into the Refuge is going to be like....Some days the fish are waiting for me to show up and then it's a guessing game as to where to look for the bite.....The best part nothing is Static in the Refuge or the Swamp.....Everything is in Flux.....It keeps you guessing.....Have a great weekend!!

      @WesLovelace  5 місяців тому +1

      Thanks John!! After years of running around I've never gotten lost during the day.....Usually starting in September thru October I run to several locations to fish well before daylight .....Usually about 4 AM. Now it's a slower run up there because I need to see the outlines of certain islands in my travels and I don't use my handheld GPS or spotlights!! I have the GPS to help me navigate during those days where the Fog is so thick you have no clue where N-E-S-W directions are and I use 6 waypoints to put me in Wall Bay.....Now once inside the creeks the travel is a lot easier.....running this entire area is about local knowledge and that I have thousands of hours stored under my hat.....That being said if I ever lose my mind I'll really be screwed.....LOL.....Have a great weekend John!!
