Check out Marco Pitruzella aka Lord Marco, he is a death/extrême metal drummer. He's played with Six feet under, the faceless, Brain drill.. Etc.. The guy uses similar technique to achieve blast beats, free hand rolls in the 300 + bpms. There is a video were you see him do just that on cymbals to achieve a machine like effect. Fucking wild! I remember trying to do something similar almost 20 years ago after watching a Steve Smith video. I was like uh ok this comes from jazz but it would make a sick hihat snare blast...i gave up after trying it for a month, it just didn't seem that applicable for what I was playing at the time. Still think it's a pretty cool idea, drums are awesome. Love this channel, I remember getting some good tips on double bass playing back in the day. Thanks man!
That's cool! I could see it being practical for recording
damn that's cool. Love that old Z ride too, those thing sounded rad.
Yeah that’s the Heavy Power and I’ve recorded a couple albums with it and it’s been all over the country for live shows. Very loud, very clear.
Creative idea!
that's a cool idea.
Great idea! 😆👍
I’ve been pondering it for 10-15 years. Never got around to it. It works fine, though kind of ridiculous.
