As much of a LPL fan as I am, I find this video refreshing, there are indeed faults in the products our 'niche favorite' youtubers advertise. Seeing this now, it occurs to me that this device was made to decode MORE than to pick. That logic decries it will always be a sub-par picking device, no matter how well it works in some hands.
A well done, if short, video, I honestly thank you for this.

My lockpicking skills are not legendary by any means, but I can open many locks.
Normally I don't do lock outs, but this summer I went on one.
Schlage knob, all spool pins. Kicked my you know what.
I spent that weekend building spool pin cylinders and practiced and practiced and practiced.
Now as a part of my weekend routine, I alternate between bookkeeping and practicing my lockpicking/lishi skills.

Might just vary person to person. I have some Lishi's and tbh, I can open most locks with them faster than my Kronos. I'm newer to the Kronos but for whatever reason it's just not very fast for me. Not sure what it is about Lishi's but they just resonate with me I guess. I don't really look at the side pin gauge very much, I just go back and forth moving the pins until I get all my clicks. For whatever reason, locks open super fast for me when using them.

That cut away might be part of your problem.

Hay Rick my first question Is did you learn more with your lishi lock pick?
Because I've been using lishi lock picks for some time and when using lishi lock picks
It's better to find out first hand what other types of lishi lock picks are out there because just because the outer part of the lock says sc1 or kw1 - 7 pin the problem is when you are the owner and you change the cylinder the outer Door parts may not change but the cylinder will be change so it varys on the cylinder not just the pins some are made different then the ones you wold find in a common standard house hold door and yes to throw off a thief if there use to picking one type of lock you can buy or do it your self and in adding a stamp on the lock cylinder so you will get thrown off by it so after you know your cylinder and key way it becomes available to do a easy job but you mite still need to look up new security pins that companies don't want you or me to know about and yes Springs can also hold a problem when picking same with it being dirty or very cold so there is always something to think about when doing a good job and doing it fast so I also pick locks but I study the locks before going to do my job with helping some one and no im not a license lock smith but I alway have them sine paper work or tell them I'm recording them saying it so I can never be caught in a job site with the owner telling the cops that I was caught backing in there stuff so I can keep working and yah I hope this information helps.

Yes. I found that the Lishi pick really helps you "feel" your way on each pin. I understand better now what "set" pin feels like, versus an unset pin.

I bought this cutaway lock years ago. The box says "Cutaway Locks made by Learn Locks" It is model LS100. I can't find it anywhere on the internet so they may not be in business anymore.
