Pool Pump Replacement
Pool pump motors don't last long - two years or so on average. And a bad pool pump in the summer means a green pool for sure. They can be expensive to replace if you call the pool repairman. Fortunately, its a fairly easy job to do yourself once you see how its done.

    I am debating between this and an Apple CarPlay module. Once this is installed, is there an firmware update that will allow settings within the original OEM head unit to be customized? As an example, the OEM head unit has a setting where the door locks can either all open when you use the key fob or the driver door only with the key fob or the smart key on the door handle. Changing the level of the back door hatch in the cargo area can be done through the OEM head unit daytime running headlights can be turned on or off within the OEM head unit. These are just some of the major ones that I would not want to lose access to, I did run a test where I took the negative battery terminal off of the battery to see if the settings stayed how they were programmed or if they would reset and they did stay the same as they were originally programmed in the head unit. I’m wondering if you guys cannot provide access to these essential vehicle customization OEM options if we just have to set up the vehicle the way that we want prior to putting your aftermarket head unit in and hope that the settings never revert back to a factory reset, as I don’t know where that information would be stored if it’s not stored Within the OEM head unit? As an example if I have all of the door locks set to open at the same time through the OEM head unit and I put your head unit in will that setting remain or will it revert back to the factory setting of just the driver door openingwith one push of the unlock on the key fob? If all of the functions that we set up in the original head, unit will remains stored on the main computer of the vehicle. I may be OK with that, but if they could ever be wiped out while your head unit is in and the only way I would have access to change it back is to reinstall the original head unit that is just unacceptable to me as I’m locked out of way too many features on this vehicle, I think you guys need to address this publicly as everyone needs to know what they are getting themselves into and quite frankly you should create a firmware update or an app to address this issue if you don’t have an answer. Please let me know as I would like to purchase your unit, butit’s not acceptable to lose all of those features. Time is of the essence thank you for your response.

      difference is usb-c input, which the pinecil also has. main personal iron is a ts100 running off ryobi packs, at work I use a pinecil with rigid packs or a laptop power adapter. there's some different firmwares out for the ts100, I haven't tried them.

    What's super about it? You only showed that it can melt solder, which even the crappiest soldering iron is capable of. Actually using it to do what most people buy an iron for is a different kettle of fish. Many irons actually struggle to do alot of tasks people need it to do. Maybe this is the same, and the reason you failed to show how it performs doing what it supposed to. In my opinion, no one buys a soldering iron to just melt solder. It even took you over two minutes to get to the actual product the video was tittled to be about. I'm not dissing you. Take it as constructive critique. People would want to see what it is actually capable of and what it is not.

    Hey there got a question. I have a customer that has 2 valves to my knowledge. The customer and I both thought that too many heads were running. Is it possible to only have 2 and still be able to have time that each one is running independently?

    • @dgoulian
      @dgoulian Місяць тому

      2 valves are unlikely. 1 or 3 makes more sense since the first valve would have to feed the 2nd valve and only for a short duration. 3 valves would have a one valve splitting to the other two equally.

    So, I bought the kit. They had a fathers day sale and I used the code save50 so the total was $549 with the wireless antennae, extended warranty and an installation panel remover. Going to try putting it in myself. I may get my brother who owns a repair shop to help me (I have a tendency to get frustrated/angry when things don't go smoothly and having someone handy there helps me keep my composure). Have you loaded any android auto or car-play apps you found useful? It would be nice to have some enhanced vehicle maintenance data info and maybe an equalizer. The Mark Levinson system sounds great but it only has treble, mid, and base adjustments and strangely no subwoofer adjustment..

    I did it the hard way. I disassembled the lock carefully by removing two barrel retainers. Then carefully opened the barrel and removed two tiny springs, a little part that goes on those springs, and five tiny teethed flat parts. Then inserted my key and figured out how the lock works. Then repositioned the five tiny teeth where they go (aligning a semicircle notch with indentations close to where they go. Then, reassembled the barrel and everything else in reverse order. Voila, it works like new. It took me like 5 hours total. I had already bought a new lock but decided to see if I could repair the old one. It's more entertaining than solving picture puzzles, I guarantee you that.

    1 more question" Where did you put the wireless antenna? From what I gather watching this and other videos is that the backup camera wiring only has to be installed if you have an aftermarket camera. But I have read that some people have found that the joystick was acting on the lexus system in addition to the autoplay/android kit selections and that was causing problems. Don't know if it was a dip switch setting error or a diifferent manufacture issue but they had to install the wiring to the joystick to fix it.

    • @dgoulian
      @dgoulian 2 місяці тому

      I believe the wireless antenna was stuffed behind the radio. It seems to work fine. I did not have to do anything special for the factory backup camera to work. Just plugged in connectors as they matched. The joystick action is not great, since I don’t have a cursor - I have to keep tapping the joystick left or right to get the selection I want but I assume this is because the Lexus is not a touchscreen. But I have been meaning to get back in there and play with the dip switch settings. It’s well over 100 degrees in my garage ☺️. Hope this helps. I really like the system. It was the perfect answer for me.

      @@dgoulian Thanks for the replies! I also have a 2016 GS350 so your videos is perfect for me. I've been considering the beat-sonic kit because it had the most positive feedback and Lexus has actually used it in some of their service departments to upgrade customer's vehicles. But their kit is $750 and a mirroring kit is sold separately for close to $200. The merge screen is currently selling at $599 and the wireless antenna is an extra $50. I've seen similar kits that promise the same features for under $300 but the feedback is about 50/50 on them. I may wait til black friday to see if any discounts become available. Or maybe I'll contact them to see if they offer a military discount. Btw, I live in Florida so I feel your pain in my garage/sauna. Thanks again, David

    1. Have you had any problems since you installed it? 2. How is the sound on the phone and streaming? 3, Does the car radio and CD player provide sound when you are in carplay or do you have to exit to the Lexus system? 4. I thought about using waze and google maps at the same time waze on the phone and Google maps for the topgraphical view on the big 12.3 inch screen. Is that an option? 5. And finally, is phone mirroring an option? Great video btw, especially the notes you inserted. 🙂

    • @dgoulian
      @dgoulian 2 місяці тому

      Hi David, sorry this took a while. To answer some of your questions, I am still quite happy with the system. No issues after 6 months of use. Though I notice the backup camera stays onscreen for a few seconds after shifting and driving forward. No big deal. Sound is fine since it uses the factory amp. You have to exit back to the Lexus system to use the radio or CD. I use phone mirroring, so I can use only one map at a time.

    These look like interesting new smart locks. I wonder what happens if the internet is disrupted, say for maintenance or because someone in the neighbourhood is playing with a deauthour, would you be locked out of the bluetooth one if you didn't have the emergency key backup on you. Also that keyway position would make it harder for lockpickers to bypass the lock that way. There was no mention of the material they are built of. Is there much plastic on or in this lock, does the black finish stand up to the people who wear rings scratch test. How long do the batteries last and the black coating finish would be answers I would want as a consumer. Thanks for this video, cheers
