Super excited to watch this! I bought the most recent release based on your Full Set Pack review. The extra parts would've been nice, but the price was just way too steep for me. Thank you for cranking these out!

Wish the YF-19 new release included the weapon for the right arm and some missiles the Full Set had, I like more the new pin point barrier effect even if isn't as flashy as the older one, don't like heavy accesories that make the arms to drop down.
I have a doubt and hope you or someone can answer me, are the pin point barrier effects compatible with other DX Chogokin YF/VF like the YF-29 & VF-31?

I have YF19 Isamu, just arrived. The plastic is similar to the Arcadia YF19, thin plastic, although a little more resistant, it is not ABS plastic. I bought YF 19 Isamu Bandai, because I thought Bandai would use better plastic but that's not the case. I also have VF25S 2008 Osma Custom from Bandai, completely made of ABS plastic, very resistant. Now I know on my own that Bandai used ABS plastic and at some point switched to lower quality plastics, it is the strategy of lowering the quality once the trust of the fans has been gained, many other brands are doing it, Transformers, Asus , among others. I am not satisfied with the quality of the Arcadia and Bandai plastics, unfortunately I do not know better manufacturers and it is unfortunate that many macross collectors do not report this low quality.
I believe you are mistaking improved manufacturing that allows for different tolerances and textures with different materials. The Arcadia toy says on the back of the box: Main body: ABS, POM, Zinc Alloy, other parts: Standard ABS
@@ScorchedEarthToys On the boxes it says abs, pom, etc., what it doesn't say is that the white or cream-colored plastic is thin, delicate. This cannot continue to be hidden any longer, I have both YF19 Arcadia and YF19 Isamu Bandai 2024 figures, I am not wrong, I am outraged, anyone who buys a current Bandai macross will be able to verify it, the quality is well below the price and it is something that cannot be ignored, because they are high-priced figures.
I bought the YF19 as backup for full set one. By the way, did you notice the bandai VF releases lately become more accessible and readily available. As if scalpers lose interest in hoarding macross stuff.
it helps that you can now order them from distributors outside Japan. My LCS in Ireland has been able to get me in the Revival VF-25s and VF-171, Max's YF-29 and the reissue of Hayate's VF-31AX with no problems at all, I just had to wait for them to ship from Japan to the distributor in Germany, and from there to here.
its because there was a settlement between big west and harmony gold on the distro rights a few years ago. i think it was sony that saw the chance to step in and work out a deal because HG wanted to make their hollywood robotech movie. iirc the deal is that HG now only has control of OG macross and its characters outside of asia.
so starting from the vf-25 anniversary edition, bandai re-released everything under the worldwide macross branding through their official global distribution channels.
their latest release though, has regressed. since the ozma armor pack was originally tamashii nation web exclusive in japan, the re-release seems to have followed suit and gone jp web exclusive again. other than resellers, it remains to be seen if bandai will give a delayed official web release for other regions as well. hopefully they dont continue to regress and make everything hard to get again
@@deadlypedestrian The Chogokin YF-21 and HMR VF-19 Kai and VF-4 are still up for pre-order at least, so at worst it seems they're getting more selective?
@@lorcannagle i believe all those opened for orders before the chogokin ozma w/ armor pack, so we have no read on what happens next, or whether it's just gonna be the previous web releases that stay hard to get.

Im weighing my options of the DX YF-19 or a possible HMR YF-19 in the future. But man this DX is tempting!
I wish Bandai focused A LOT more on the HMR line. I love the size and price and they're pretty smart with the compromises.
Less accessories is great as it should be cheaper. Been wanting to replace my broken Yamatao YF-19 for so long. Now to earn money long enough before Bandai makes it hard to get again.
I just wish they were cheaper alternatives. And no, the HG plamo partsformer is not the alternative I want.
Excellent review, but I'm kind of confused here. I bought the 2023 DX YF-19 (it includes the 2 pin-point barrier punches) and it has truly nightmarish vertical stabilizers but your review says that they fixed them? Am I misunderstanding something? I can't even touch them; they pop right off immediately. Anyway, the YF-19 is my favorite Macross craft, but those stabs make me hate the toy.

I missed out on the Full Set Pack and got the new release... hoping Bandai would release the accessories that were excluded in the former. Anyone know or at the very least believe there is good reason this is ever going to happen?
The fastpacks loss sucks. Rest was not needed imo. Don't need punch effect either.

Yes, I'm shipping the 0A with my DX YF-21. After that, I'll get caught up on the HMR VF-0 releases.

@@Darth_Tater69 I ordered one from a US shop so I'll have to wait for them to take the boat, then the train, then the plane, then the truck to my house... probably gonna be a bit but it's a toy that will also jump to the top of the list when it arrives.
Do think Bandai will release the rest of accessories? It is the main reason why I did not buy it yet.
No one can say for sure but I doubt it. It would have made sense to announce it around the time of the reissue. Maybe if they reissue the DX YF-19 again they would do it then.

Not likely, the accessory molds were only used for one small production run... they will likely stay good for a very long time to come.
