Proud of Adam for facing his phobia of caves! If possible, I HIGHLY recommend going to Lava Beds National monument in northeast California for some of the most beautiful geography and incredible cave systems!
Honestly this video showed me way more cool stuff than any photos I’ve seen before. Was questioning whether it was even worth seeing but you’ve shown otherwise so thanks!
My Wife and I did this exact hike today for our 35Th Wedding Anniversary. We have lived a hour and a half away but have never been to the Pinnacles .A condor flew 5 feet over our heads and there were at least 10 that we spotted flying together.Beautiful day we will be back.
I’ve been a volunteer at Pinnacles NP for almost 13 years, and know the park like the back of my hand. This is one of the best videos I’ve seen of the park! Thanks.
Enjoying your exploration of S Cal. I probably won't get that far again in my lifetime. I also felt like Indiana Jones in my day. You 2 really make my day. 👍👍🏍🏍🏍🙋♂️
Hello Adventurers😊😊😊, as small as Pinnicles National Park is it really packs a punch. So many cool hikes...and I really enjoy hiking in caves😊😊! I really enjoyed watching this video👍👍👍👍.
At some point of watching you going up and going into the caves, I would stop cause I’m nervous for you. You’re such a daring darling couple! Thank you for sharing your adventures! Stay safe and healthy always.
Love this! We are currently making our way up the coast and we're about a week behind you guys haha. so all of your videos are SO helpful. Headed to Big Sur tomorrow :)

Seriously love your videos. Beautiful videography, editing, music placement, right amount of educational information, and great attitudes (plus cute dog!). So ready to explore.
What a gorgeous hike!! until the caves.. ugh... I was hyperventilating just watching! not something I could do. YOU GO ADAM!! And I love how you "reward" yourselves with treats!! happy travels!
Excellent, excellent job climbing up AND descending those rock “ladders!” And then that cave crawling action. Whew. You guys are strong, brave, beasts! ❤ 💪🏻 💥 Thanks for showing us this hike and park!
I really enjoyed your video. Informative and well edited. Really showed the diverse features of the park. Don’t think I would like the High Peaks; heights are not my thing. That part at 6:47 would make me queasy. Lol! You guys are young and adventurous with great attitudes. Hope you have many more safe travels.
this was an AWESOME video, I loved this, such beautiful footage. and you guys always have me smiling and laughing, I love it! thank you for always sharing your times!
My husband and I greatly appreciate the maps you display/add/give and the history and background of the things you see and experience--this puts your vlog above other travel vlogs that I watch. That Condor Gulch looks like such a wonderful and interesting trail! How cool that you got to see a condor! Although I am sad that you were not able to get a picture, it would be totally amazing and unusual to just "casually" getting a picture of one. We also like Happy Cow cheeses and as you demonstrated, they ARE great for spreads!! We use them when we hike or picnic as well! That is a great idea to pack your bacon like that. I usually make sandwiches ahead of time but they get soggy! I am going to do it your way next time! Thank you too for that info about the caves! I don't think I would like to take the first cave too well either.... Thanks again!
We like adding the context of the maps and some tidbits of history or info. We hope people can learn something from our videos and be entertained at the same time! Happy Cows are great! We used to pre make them as well and they always get soggy. Especially if you use tortillas…those turn into a mess!
Oh my goodness, I’ve already got Joshua Tree, Sequoia, and King’s Canyon National Parks on our itinerary for our road trip from Austin to Berkeley this summer. Now I need to figure out how to add in Pinnacles! Thanks for taking the time to share your travels and experiences. They are a pleasure to watch!
Thank you for another great adventure. That place is awesome. I really admire what you're doing and also very educational too. Stay safe and see you soon ✌. Much ❤ from Arizona 🌵
BEAUTIFUL…the greens and oranges, the tunnels and caves…and the trails with the railings😵! Such a cool park! The condors are huge and so pretty! I have to admit that I was getting a little freaked watching you all crawl through the caves and hiking along the railings but thank goodness for the railings! 😅Loved the music and this whole video! Oh and the dance moves are always an added treat! Thanks for showing my sweet grand puppy Konie Bear at the end! ❤️🐶
Thank you for taking me along with you on that awesome hike. Kathryn, your second dance move (fanky leg?) looked great. Please do that move again in another video cause you got this! Safe travels.
Geez, Pinnacles National Park is gorgeous! I really loved that ya’ll did some birding, one of my favorite hobbies. My heart was racing watching ya’ll go through the caves. And gotta mention the footage of the snake, so cool! 🐍🦅🤙🏽
Love it! You are our inspiration for our travels too! We saw a condor for our first time when we were hiking at Angel's Landing. They are majestic when they fly!
Amazing video of another amazing adventure! I just watched "California Through My Lens" of the same park & it was great seeing 2 different perspectives of the same park. Great stuff!!
Thanks for a NP that I've never heard of. The caves sound like a ton of fun and what video you got was great. Thanks. Can't wait to see where you head to next so..... until next time... Travel Safe.
My heart was racing watching you climb through the cave, not to mention the snake!!! 😆! As always fantastic video guys! Well done! Thanks for taking us along! Love the new dance moves! ~Cara 😊
This video was giving me heart palpatations!!!🦇 The steps carved in rock with rail!!!!! Yikes! And that cave too scary for me. But looks like a really cool place to visit with some beautiful and unusual topography! Keep working on those dance moves! Kona is a cutie pie!!!
Love seeing you guys finally getting to explore California (my home state)!! Californias geological landscape is so different in all corners of Cali and im soooo stoked to see y’all appreciate it and explore. Idk if you guys will stick around till the summer months but If you happen to be here and have time to hang out in the Eastern Sierras an awesome trail that’s dog friendly (with great 360 Sierra views) would be Mitchell Peak from Marvin’s pass trailhead!
We have loved out time in California! It of course lives up to the hype! We’re actually on our way to Alaska so we won’t be in California for the summer, but thanks for the rec because we’re hoping to visit the eastern Sierras next summer!
The upper cave was certainly intense 😮 I think the lower , with the stairs and railing would be for me 😄😆 I think this was one of your best hikes. I am so glad you saw a Condor!! As always, this was a great video 😊😊
Another great adventure. Can't wait for the next one. I'll be somewhere on the East coast when the next one comes out but hopefully I will have cell service so I can watch. Thanks for sharing.
I was looking forward to your Pinnacles adventure ! You two do such a great job capturing the beauty and adventure of the park . Lassen NP in Northern California is also a great park to try.
Guys when you get to bay area make sure to do Muir Woods and the Mt Tamalpais hikes. It’s my favorite place to go. Fyi you’ll need to make reservation at Muir Woods. Happy to see you guys in California. My family and I are fan of your channel for past couple of years now. 😊
We unfortunately didn’t go to SF or much of the Bay Area on this trip due to a variety of reasons. But thanks for those tips. When we do go we hope to not be in the van so that we can explore the city a bit easier. We wanted to check out those spots, just couldn’t this time. Thanks for the tips though and thanks for watching! ❤️🤙
@@AdventuresofAplusK Oh I’m sure you’ll have plenty of time to come back, and I do understand why you wouldn’t want the van around San Francisco - actually would have warned you about it. Anyway, can’t wait to see where you’re heading next on the videos. Safe trips and thank you for doing what you do. As much as you enjoy doing it, us the viewer enjoys adventuring with you and getting all those travel tips helps a lot! Oh, and forgot to mention Dispsea Trails in Mount Tam is the most gorgeous 7.5 mile hike you’ll do I’m sure and other trails there are just jaw dropping views of Redwoods, Landscapes, Cityscape and the Pacific Ocean.
Kathryn, it looks like you and Indy had a good time squeezing through that cave. Other than the cave the scenery reminded me a lot of Custer State park in S. Dakota (but with cooler trails).
Im with Adam. I’m not a good spelunker but it looked interesting. Could be open to the bottom trail. Beautiful scenery, cool condor sighting and sweet treat, yes please.
Guys, this is another great and inspiring video about a national park. Thank you so much for sharing! We recently visited Chiricahua National Park and it was amazing. Unfortunately, we are limited on time and couldn't make it to California. Next time we tackle the west coast, Pinnacles NP will be on our list to follow your steps. 👍👍🙂
Thanks for the video. We will be there next week. We won't be hiking; the hikes look to strenuous for me and I have my dog. I have seen other videos of people who saw condors from the campground but unfortunately we aren't camping in the park. We will be coming in to the eastern entrance also. We will go to the visitors center and sit in the parking lot for awhile. I enjoyed seeing the scenery from your video that i won't get to see in person.
I saw so many similarities between you guys and myself when trying to work out wildlife, getting onto the phone to cross check online photos with what you're seeing in real life. So pleased for you both that you were able to see one, even if you couldn't swap out the lens in time to share. The snake at 8:41 was awesome, do you know what kind it was? We only have 2 types in the UK and it's unusual to see them so for me, that slow slithering shot up the tree was just incredible! 🙌 The reservoir was incredibly pretty - reminded me a lot of Gem Lake on the very edge of the Rocky Mountain National Park with the dark water acting like a mirror and the redder rocks. Fun fact, but we never use the term gulch in the UK, but it seems to appear everywhere in the US National Parks. The caves were a great surprise, never would have thought Pinnacles had something like that, and I couldn't help but notice whilst you were in there that there was someone with a torch behind you. I know from your Q&A's in the past that you don't like vlogging in front of others, so I was rooting for you knowing someone random was behind you!
We were SO confident the first ones we saw were condors...NOPE! Just turkey vultures haha. I bet they laugh as they trick everyone 😜 We found out after the fact it was a Gopher snake (we think). We get asked a lot if we see snakes while hiking and this was the 4th ever (the 3rd was also in California in Big Sur). It's funny that we use gulch so much because it is not a word I'd ever say naturally haha. But this park loved the word! The caves were a blast and we ran into a girl as we were confused and we stuck together for a bit to figure it out. Adam warned her that we would be awkward with our camera lol. Trying to get over the fear of filming around people, but she was thankfully very nice!
What a fun trail! The cave part reminds me a little of a serious caving adventure I did once, in a completely natural cave, I think if I had known what was in store I would have been too scared to do it! I had a friend who was able to guide a group of us, and we had to wear helmets, it was full of tight squeezes, places we had to crawl, and water (lots of water) and mud. This was in southern IL and since then most of the caves have been closed because the bats living in them were threatened by "white nose disease" a fungal infection. I think recently some of the caves have been able to open again, but I'm not sure.
I (Adam) might’ve backed out as well if I’d have known what I was getting into 😂 but maybe I’ll get a little braver and try more! Who know! Thanks for watching!
Thanks , KATHLEEN & Alec! Great overview, & Hike , & thru Cave.. admittedly, some of this dark ,scary, cramped, muddy,Cave stuff is not really my liking either…".Interestingly, we now live in HELENA VALLEY, MT & some 50 miles from **LEWIS & Clark Caverns STATE PARK , located around Whitehall MT: a great CAVE & history ,too!,, We been there a few times, & with Grandkid’s,etc…
I was there a few weeks ago! I must have just missed you. The cave was indeed difficult to navigate in. A whole group of people went into the cave the same time I did, so we just helped each other to navigate our way out, lol.
Loved this! We just spent a week in exploring Pinnacles, Big Sur and Monterey! If you see this, can you point us to the video that you cooked the curry dish…your favorite….I think Adam cooked it from scratch.
Thank you and thanks for watching! We hope you had a great trip. Here’s the video of that recipe: ua-cam.com/video/mp5oNp30yAk/v-deo.html In our next video we actually make it again😂, but a green version
I did the same trail in January! A condor starting to fly right next to me on trail and the sound from the wings was insane!! Wish we woulda crossed paths :)
I had a condor fly low right over me when I went and yes the sound was crazy! First I thought sounded a bit like a drone until it got closer. It was so amazing!
When you get to Canada please see: Butchart Gardens in Brentwood Bay, BC near Victoria, Stanley Park (Aquarium too), Gastown steam clock and food of course, Queen Elizabeth Park, Capilano Suspension Bridge Park and Lynn Canyon suspension Bridge Park (free) has hikes and waterfalls. You may have been to all of these places before!!!! Enjoy Asian food, probably not the best place for tacos. Wishing you the best!
Dude y’all are putting in WORK cranking these videos out like this. Your journey is super lit! I have one question, what frame rate are you guys using for slo mo? Those shots are incredible.
Another great video 👍 I’ve been following you Guys since last year! And also watched your old videos. I’m from Québec, Canada and I’ve been to a few national Parks on the West Coast since 2016 ( Rainier, Olympic, Yosemite) and I plan to travel again in california and the Southwest in the next 2 years and the national Parks to visit are addding up on my list!!! Can’t wait to retire to travel to all the places you’ve been!!🙂😄 you do a great job and, as others , can’t wait for your next vidéo! I’m addicted !😃 thanks for sharing your hikes with us. Lyette Question: What about snakes ? Are there a lot of snakes in the national Parks you visited lately?
Those parks you’ve visited are some of the best of the best! But there is tons more as you know! We’ve actually only seen snakes a few times on our hundreds of hikes. Thanks for watching!
I just started watching you guys a couple months ago! My wife and I love your videos. Is there any way you two could do a video or a comment on what you take on your Hikes and what is the best items for your hikes!
That was quite the hiking spot, although I doubt i would try it, especially at my age now and that drop-off looked pretty hairy, or narly, as they say in California. Truly some spectacular caves, I am not sure if I would be a fan of being in a cave that long.
Sweet! I love this. We went to Wind Cave NP in October and just missed the last cave tour of the day. So I'm looking forward to finding caves and exploring them whenever I find them next. What number of National Park was this for you guys?!
Love the journey your doing. Wonder if you have ever encountered bears or mountain lions on any of your hikes? You have given me the urge to start planning my own adventure.
We have a blog post with all of our gear here: adventuresofaplusk.com/our-must-have-hiking-gear/ and they are also listed in the description. Thanks for watching!
Wow! Another amazing adventure. We have a bunch of turkey vultures who live near us so we see them all the time. Seeing a California Condor would be special, though! Can I ask where you buy your gluten free ciabatta bread? I think I have seen you with that a few times. And is it good?
Ya the Turkey vultures are much more common. Condors would be really cool to see! A lot of times we get it at Walmart. You can check their website to see if they have it in stock before you go. And yes it’s actually really really good! Has great texture and holds up well.
@@AdventuresofAplusK Thank you. I've recently learned that I'm genetically predisposed to be gluten intolerant so I'm still learning about the whole gluten free lifestyle. We love seeing huge birds soaring through the air. We have great blue herons and sandhill cranes that hang out in our yard and they remind us of pterosaurs! LOL So majestic! Thanks for bringing us along on your adventures!

Oh, and forgot to mention Dispsea Trails in Mount Tam is the most gorgeous 7.5 mile hike you’ll do I’m sure and other trails there are just jaw dropping views of Redwoods, Landscapes, Cityscape and the Pacific Ocean.
Very cool.
Kathryn, it looks like you and Indy had a good time squeezing through that cave. Other than the cave the scenery reminded me a lot of Custer State park in S. Dakota (but with cooler trails).
Oh yes that’s another place it reminded us of also! It was a ton of fun!
Im with Adam. I’m not a good spelunker but it looked interesting. Could be open to the bottom trail. Beautiful scenery, cool condor sighting and sweet treat, yes please.
It was a ton of fun! Thanks for watching!
So cool. What a great hike. Cool caving hike. Make Adam a cave man after all. Lol
😂 maybe so!
I appreciate your channel. Thank you for posting. Happy travels in the future?
Thank you and thanks for watching!
It belongs on your list! It’s a gorgeous place! Thank you and thanks for watching!
I’m a big fan of you guys!! Love your videoes! Hopefully I ran across you guys while you’re here in bay area ❤️
Thank you so much! We’ve travelled north from the Bay Area, but if you see us sometime say hi! Thanks for watching, Karina!
Indiana Adam Jones!! Bahaha! That cracked me up! Great video!
I was hoping to find the holy grail down there, but no luck! 😂
We hope you enjoy your visit and can see some condors! Thanks for watching!
Great video. I’d never heard of Pinnacles NP but you’re correct; a little bit like Zion , Chiricahua etc. Closing in on 💯 K subscribers 👏🏻
Pinnacles is awesome! 100k woohoo 😨 can’t believe it!
You both deserve the Snickers bars after that spelunking adventure!! A very unique National Park!!
We thought we deserved it too! That was tough! 🥵😂
Sounds like a nice place! We’re Adam and Kathryn, though 🙂
I was there a few weeks ago! I must have just missed you.
The cave was indeed difficult to navigate in. A whole group of people went into the cave the same time I did, so we just helped each other to navigate our way out, lol.
We had another person with us also and we were glad she was with us because we could help each other navigate out!
Did that squirrel fake eat grass to mock you? 😂 great hidden gem. The caves were awesome. Thanks for sharing! 😍
It might have! 😂 the caves were a ton of fun! Thanks for watching!
Great Video, so many things to see
Thanks!
Really enjoy the channel and be safe on the road
Thanks, Pete!
Loved this! We just spent a week in exploring Pinnacles, Big Sur and Monterey! If you see this, can you point us to the video that you cooked the curry dish…your favorite….I think Adam cooked it from scratch.
Thank you and thanks for watching! We hope you had a great trip. Here’s the video of that recipe: ua-cam.com/video/mp5oNp30yAk/v-deo.html
In our next video we actually make it again😂, but a green version
@@AdventuresofAplusK Thanks! Made it tonight, delicious! You are right, I could eat every night!
Being a condor sounds much cooler than being a turkey vulture... Great vid!
It sure does! Thanks for watching!
You arrived there at a good time for the weather. It gets super hot later and it's hitting 95F today.
Yes it was comfortable and was a very nice day for it!
I did the same trail in January! A condor starting to fly right next to me on trail and the sound from the wings was insane!! Wish we woulda crossed paths :)
Wow that would be incredible!
I had a condor fly low right over me when I went and yes the sound was crazy! First I thought sounded a bit like a drone until it got closer. It was so amazing!
Amazing!!
❤️❤️
When you get to Canada please see: Butchart Gardens in Brentwood Bay, BC near Victoria, Stanley Park (Aquarium too), Gastown steam clock and food of course, Queen Elizabeth Park, Capilano Suspension Bridge Park and Lynn Canyon suspension Bridge Park (free) has hikes and waterfalls. You may have been to all of these places before!!!! Enjoy Asian food, probably not the best place for tacos. Wishing you the best!
We’ve been to a handful of these! Thanks for the recs!
Dude y’all are putting in WORK cranking these videos out like this. Your journey is super lit! I have one question, what frame rate are you guys using for slo mo? Those shots are incredible.
Thank you so much! That means a lot! The slomo is 120fps
Super fun trail. May have to go check it out next time I’m in the Bay Area. Only a couple of hrs from South Bay but worth it
It is definitely worth the drive!
Awesome!!!
❤️❤️
You two are very impressive videographers. This is my 2nd viewed.
Thank you, Tom!
Had a ball going there!
We did too!
I just started watching you guys a couple months ago! My wife and I love your videos. Is there any way you two could do a video or a comment on what you take on your Hikes and what is the best items for your hikes!
Thanks for watching! We have all of our hiking gear on our site. The link is in the pinned comment and description!
Those dang sammies you guys been making looks amazing. 😂 what do you guys use to make?
Great music!
Thank you!
That was quite the hiking spot, although I doubt i would try it, especially at my age now and that drop-off looked pretty hairy, or narly, as they say in California. Truly some spectacular caves, I am not sure if I would be a fan of being in a cave that long.
I (Adam) probably would’ve backed out if I’d have known what I was getting into 😂
Sweet! I love this. We went to Wind Cave NP in October and just missed the last cave tour of the day. So I'm looking forward to finding caves and exploring them whenever I find them next. What number of National Park was this for you guys?!
I believe this was 44! Caves are a lot of fun!….err sometimes!
Love the journey your doing. Wonder if you have ever encountered bears or mountain lions on any of your hikes? You have given me the urge to start planning my own adventure.
We’ve seen 1 bear on a trail (in Minnesota oddly enough), but no mountain lions thank goodness! Thanks for watching!
Wow! This place looks unreal. This will be my next road trip. Where will you be stopping as you pass through Oregon?
We’ll be releasing those videos soon!
Your dance moves keep getting better to the point where you’ll need a spin off channel just to highlight your dance skills 💃🕺
Hahaha Dancing With A+K!!
For a small park, it has a lot going on!
It definitely does!
Cool video and footage of the park. I live in northern California and have wanted to check out that park. Is it worth a trip and also was it crowded.?
Heck ya it’s worth it! It wasn’t very crowded on our visit mid week in March
@@AdventuresofAplusK thanks
Loving your channel. Who makes the daypacks y’all use?
We have a blog post with all of our gear here: adventuresofaplusk.com/our-must-have-hiking-gear/ and they are also listed in the description. Thanks for watching!
So cool!!! Are you guys going to the Sierra Nevada's next or up to SF?
Neither on this trip. Stay tuned!
@@AdventuresofAplusK Interesting! Will do!
