An EPIC drive to Death Valley (Ash Meadows, Wild Burros, Rhyolite GHOST town, & Titus Canyon!)
Вставка
- Опубліковано 30 чер 2024
- After Joshua Tree, we booked it to Death Valley National Park to take advantage of a cooler weather window and along the way we decided to swing by a state we hadn't planned to visit this year...Nevada!
Our drive was filled with unexpected snow, a giant bovine, a beautiful spring in the desert, an adorable cat that wanted our chili, wild burros, a ghost town, unique art, and an EPIC off-road drive into Death Valley through Titus Canyon. It was one of the most fun and adorable days we have had in a long time!

Did this trip on same day + crack of dawn trip to a snowy Racetrack in Jeep Wrangler. One of best desert days ever.
So glad you got to experience the snow too!
@@AdventuresofAplusK We have spent decades hitting the backroads of the California and Southwestern deserts. It is a rare treat to be there with the mountain tops decorated in fresh white. We were really rewarded in this recent trip to DV.
Something that I think can be easily overlooked due to the distractions caused by the amazing landscapes, informative commentary, and funny shenanigans is just how incredibly skilled you two are as filmmakers. Planning, setting up, and executing (not to mention editing!) some of the shots you get is no small task, and I'm struck over and over when I watch your videos by your amazingly high skill levels. You make what can be very hard and tedious work look seamless, and that's no small task!
Thank you Michael! That means more to us than we can express. ❤️ We work so incredibly hard on these videos and while most just see a fun 25 minutes or less edited version, it’s so much work on the back end and we appreciate your kind words!
LOVE the cat!! It's a Tortoiseshell (Tortie) - so more than likely it was a female. I have a Tortie,, they are awesome cats. Now I need to visit Beatty, NV!! I must find that cat and pet some burros!!! LOL
This was one awesome cat too! We need to find more of them out and about!
I absolutely love when Kona catches a snowball!❤️ Great video guys!
Us too! She really caught that one too!
Congrats on 90I Subscribers!!!!
Thank you!!!
Chili kitty is a female. Her coloring/markings are called tortoise shell, torti for short. They usually have fun and unique personalities ❤️🐾👏
We loved her coloring so much! And we have seriously never met such a friendly cat, she was the best ❤️
OMGosh the “Chili” was so cute and had so much personality! And those burros were just too adorable and friendly! That dirt road looked a little scary at times but seemed like an awesome way to see some incredible sights! Not to mention you two seemed to have fun driving it! What a fun fun and informative video! Great job once again!
So glad you enjoyed our new animal friends! ❤️
Enjoying your videos! Much appreciation for sharing your journey.
Like all of your videos this was terrific but I think the kittie and burros stole the show! In other news my husband and I are re-watching your Maine, Utah and Colorado videos to help us plan some trips.
They totally stole the show! Maine, Utah, and Colorado are all amazing vacation spots!
I just love those Burros!! The canyon was amazing. The whole video was wonderful. This area is full of natural wonders. I enjoyed this Death Valley experience. 🌞🌵
The burros were a huge highlight!
That looked like a fun trip! So many interesting parts, but Ryolite was crazy!
Just dropping a comment for the algorithm! Love the video, feels like we’re traveling along with you guys. I’m sure I speak for everyone that watches that we appreciate the videos and all the work that goes into them.
We really appreciate that, thank you! And we’re happy to have you along for the ride!
It really is special to experience snow in the desert. It's like two different worlds colliding - and the plus is that the snow eventually melts ;) That cat is ADORABLE! In Tel Aviv, Israel and Vathi, Greece, I made a lot of cat friends just like this little cutie. The locations are special but the cats are somehow the best memory - haha! And those cute burros. AH. How did you resist the urge to adopt these cute lil animals!?
We are SO thankful we moved our trip to Death Valley up a week, otherwise we wouldn't have seen the snow! We will definitely remember the animals the most and I so wish we could bring them with us. Would love to meet some cats in other countries too!
OMG! Last year when I was getting ready to go through the San Juans in Colorado I found you guys and followed your adventures and food tips. In about a month I will be heading through Death Valley and on north from there to the PNW. Here you are again leading the way for me! This cracks me up, but even better you guys go to the best places so that I make sure that I see the good stuff. Unfortunately I won't be able to do the Canyon Road because my vehicle is too low to the ground, but at least I got to see it through your eyes. Thanks!
Woo! We hope to give you some more ideas!!
Amazing springs, great job!
Congratulations on crossing 90,000 subscribers… You guys put out awesome content….. For my money A+ K is the best travel video channel on UA-cam…
That means a lot, thank you! We couldn't have done it without all of y'alls support!
Very nicely done thanks 😊 👍
So cool that you got to experience snow!!
Great video as always! 💯
Enjoy the off-road adventure. That canyon was very cool. Congrats on surpassing 90k. 100k very soon and that deserves a special celebration on the way to AK
Thank you so much! Looking forward to celebrating soon!
Thats looks so great, beautiful place, can wait for tge next one, enjoy and stay safe...
Love from Canada! My husband and I have started watching your channel on our TV recently and have just come here to leave these comments. We love the way you tell the story - it is mega-super-awesome - very informative, with great sense of humour, and beautiful video-making! We loved your adventure with a burro and a cat here. We have cats in our neighbourhood, but the one in this video was too cute. Although we do not anticipate to be that far down south (we mostly stick to Quebec and Ontario provinces in Canada and New England and Mid-Atlantic states of US), but we will watch your videos on more northerly (in contiguous US that is) destinations. I am thinking Acadia may be a good video to watch next, because that is on our bucket list.
Thank you for watching us on the big screen and for the comment! We really appreciate the kind words, it means a lot to us! The cat was super cute and sweet...definitely the first cat that has liked us this much haha! We LOVE Canada and are excited to visit a bunch of the western part this year and hopefully venture out east (Nova Scotia and Newfoundland are HIGH on the list) soon!
@@AdventuresofAplusK Thanks for the response! I will surely follow your travels.
Love the history that you share with us!!! The snow on the plants was beautiful! Super cute kitty and burros!
The snow was such an amazing surprise! And those cute animals!
Good job guys, your videos are always fun to watch but this one was a blast.
We are so glad you thought so! It is one of our favorites we have filmed in a long time!
Loved the burros and the cat in Beatty, NV. You both have a great way with your videos of making us smile!! Thanks for this adventure!!
They were the cutest!
Understand; but you two are such joy to watch/ need more
The Blue Hole in Santa Rosa NM is similar to the Devil's Hole. They have an idea how deep it is but know that it's much larger too.
We will have to check that one out too!
Great video! Scenery was beautiful, history fascinating and love the way you lovingly embrace the critters. My mom loves watching you eat. She’s going to love chili kitty 😂
The cat was the best! Made it hard to eat, but we loved playing with her haha!
Very cool. Love the animals ❤️ sightings
The animals made our day!
The wild cat, wild burros… what an amazing place!!! Lol 😂 one more spot added to my travel bucket list
Can't beat a place with cute and friendly animals!
And again, you had tons of fun & somehow manage to get to places many can't travel too! Thanks for the risky drive in the van & showing us Death Valley area! The burros looked pretty friendly.
They were super friendly!
Loved it and the friendly donkeys. Great information and great content.👍😊💙
So glad you enjoyed it Don!
Amazing! We watched before heading into DV!!!! Thanks for showing Titus Canyon Rd; we may give that a try. We have today and tomorrow to finish up our visit!
We hope you’re having a blast! You can also hike into Titus Canyon from the west (we saw some folks doing this), by parking at the end of the two way road!
Spring there looks like Kitch -iti-kipi !😃
It does!!
Loved 😍 Chili the calico cat and all those cuddly burros. They were so friendly they reminded me of the begging burros near Mt Rushmore in Custer State Park. We fed them 🥕 carrots and some oats we bought at our camp 🏕 store. So many cool stops on the way to Death Valley another great video 📹 guys ty for sharing 💕
We didn't get to see the burros in Custer State Park (they were hiding that day), so this finally made up for that!
Amazing adventure
You had me nervous on Titus road there for a bit. 3 1/2 hours is a long time to be on that road like that! Solid vid as usual. Looking forward to your DV vid.
It went by so fast! I am actually shocked we beat my 4 hour prediction though!
What an adventure. There are so much unique places out there that I've never heard of but thanks to you two. I learned so much by watching your adventures. I'm so glad I found your UA-cam Channel. Thank you and see you on the next one ✌
Thank you so much for watching!!
Your videos are the BEST!!! 👍🏼❤️
Thank you Janet! ❤️
Holy moly, that snow as y’all drove into Nevada was gorgeous and those shots of the springs in Ash Meadows, wow! This was a fun episode, thanks A+K for braving the weather and showing us around. Rhyolite, Titus Canyon and burros…so stoked! 🚐🏜🤙🏽
The snow was so magical! Especially with the spring too!
Hello Adventurers😊😊😊, that cat was so friendly...trying to eat y'alls food😄😄! Those burros were super cute too. The drive on the dirt road into Death Valley was AWESOME, especially the section through the slot canyon...WOW!! Definitely looking forward seeing more of Death Valley👍👍👍👍👍👍!
Hi, Al! Chili and the burros were super friendly! Titus Canyon Road was a ton of fun and beautiful! We're excited to share our video from Death Valley soon! Thanks for watching!
Loved all the sights on that drive! That’s so smart to deflate your tires on a dirt road. I never thought of that before - probably bc we don’t have a car, but such a small change that makes a big difference!
Ya we had been thinking about it for a while but was nervous to do it but it did make a huge difference!
Way cool adventure. The chili looked amazing and made me hungry.
It was very solid chili!
So cuteeee! I need to visit that place just to meet the kitty and the burros 😆 IMy fav video
They were huge highlights!!
2 things I couldn't believe. SNOW in the desert and a large van traversing gravel roads through the desert. Super video- even the wildlife was out in force. Stay safe on your journey. 👍👍🏍🏍🏍🙋♂️
It was a road trip full of surprises!!!
I love....love the black and white cow 🐄. With the snow it looks even cuter. You have managed to capture the desert dressed out for winter with the beauty of light snow. I greatly enjoy your videos. Can't wait to see what's next. 🐄🐕🇺🇸
The cow was sooo cool in the snow!
So glad you are doing Death Valley! Looking forward to the next video. I'm heading there next weekend so this is perfect timing 👌 👍
Woo! It should be out Thursday, so hopefully it can give you some ideas beforehand!
@@AdventuresofAplusK Perfect 🙌
Loved your video. Nice to know about this off the beaten path entrance to Death Valley. I was so sorry to not have time for Rhyolite, so enjoyed seeing your experiences there. Looking forward to your Death Valley video. Safe travels...
It was a really fun way to enter the park! Excited to share what all we did in the park!
Looking to visit there soon.
That was my thoughts on DV as well. I had no idea how beautiful it would be there! It took us 10 years to go visit. It's such a hidden gem 💎 Happy to see you all enjoying your time in California! Safe Travels!!
It is a very cool area and we can't wait to share the rest!
Are you guys going to be headed out towards Lone Pine to hwy 395? If you do take a quick detour into Alabama Hills and do the 0.5 mile loop to Mobius Arch, it frames Mt. Whitney and then the drive up Whitney Portal Raid is beautiful. Lots of movies have been filmed in Alabama Hills from old westerns and Iron Man.
We really wanted to, but we plan to do a Sierra Nevada focused trip in the future!
I figured you all probably have a planned tight schedule. We spend 9 days exploring 395, lots to see and do, it's a vacation in itself. Nice to know you will back to explore the area!
Very cool, always like seeing videos about that part of the country, including death valley. I enjoyed seeing the cat try to get your chili as well and Kona catching a snow ball was neat. Didn't realize that ghost towns went bust so quickly, very interesting fact you shared.
This is such a fascinating area! Tons of history!
LOVED Ash Meadows!! I was there three years ago and got to see Devil's Hole, too - I was the only one out there! Such a beautiful landscape and preserve!! I had just left Death Valley and was on my way to Joshua Tree NP. Also, I stayed in Beatty one night and enjoyed some local cuisine at the same spot! Really enjoy your films!! Thank you!!
Ash Meadows is such a fascinating place isn’t it?! That whole area is a hidden gem. Thank you and thanks for watching!
I just love your videos. I am now subscribed to your channel. 🤗
Thank you so much for watching! We are glad to have you along for the ride!
I enjoy all your guys videos! well explained and well informed keep up the great work! 👍 safe travels from goodyear Arizona
Thank you so much for watching!
Cannot wait to see more. I'm planning on death valley end of this month and want to drive the canyon!
We highly recommend it! Tons of fun and probably would be even more fun in a smaller vehicle!
The open air museum with the sculptures was really cool! Would never know of little places like this without you guys
We’re glad we could share it! Thanks for watching!
Great video! Was in Beatty/Rhyolite/Death Valley last spring - such cool places! Spotted the burros not just in Beatty but on the way to Death Valley too (I went the route that took me through Trona) They were literally in the road and did not give a single care LOL. Love your kitty friend - torties are great cats - they definitely have a determined 'tude though - especially when you have chili, apparently! Ha ha!
Chili was all over us and our chili! And yes the burros are too much fun. Thanks for watching!
nice!
Katherine, YOU are correct about the pronunciation of Nevada! Don't let Adam get in your head! Bad Adam!
Loved this video so much we're leaving in the morning to follow your steps. From St George to Beatty, Titus canyon to furnace creek, etc. Driving our overland wrangler...
Ditto to Michael's comment below. You guys make this video thing look easy. Good job.
Cheers
Bad Adam 😆! Thank you for watching and the kind words! We hope you have a great trip. The wrangler will dominate Titus Canyon road!
This is just getting better and better wow thank you guy's and just so you know i work with burros everyday as well and they are not as big as those but let me tell you, they are good 😀 good luck guy's be safe out there 😊
That is awesome! We would love to get to spend our days with them...so cute!
Again from a Born and raised Nevadan..... Kate you are right on how you pronounce it!
I’m almost positive the kitty is a girl because it’s a tortoiseshell cat.❤️
We had no idea that the tortoiseshell coat was only a female cat thing!
Came here to say exactly that LOL. Torties are awesome...they do what they want! Ha ha!
Every one of your videos is like a National Geographic Special! So well done and I'm really enjoying seeing these places in such detail, as I have ever since you visited Minnesota.
However, watching the 2 of you eat is really torture! 😃🙃.
Thank you so much! We are sorry to torture you! 😜
Awwww, just give him some chili 🤭
The tsunami fact was mind blowing!
Greetings from Mexico, really enjoying your trip to Alaska 💚
Haha didn't want to make our new friend sick!
Me and my daughter traveled to Death Valley last October and had a great time exploring the park. Fascinating place. Bring your golf clubs for the Devil's Golf Course!
Hahaha don't worry, Adam sure did! 😜😜
This is my favorite of the Alaska trip so far! Now I have to find a ghost town near Durango for my own trip :)
Woo! Glad you enjoyed it! Animas Forks near Silverton is an awesome ghost town!
Very cool! Being a desert rat my whole life, I've always wanted to check out Death Valley. Thanks for sharing your experience for some ideas! Also, my partner always says Nev-ahh-duh and I say Nev-aaa-duh. It seems like it's because I think that's how we say it in the west 😆I was so happy to see the kitty too! I'm pretty sure it's a she because it's a Tortie (tortoise shell) calico and usually calicos are female. Fun tip! :) Safe travels and until next time!
I am pretty sure we both are right! I googled it extensively beforehand to make sure hahah. We just learned today about that type of cat being only female...we had NO idea!
Amazing, Wow, I loved this video. There is so much history in this area. I loved all of it. I loved the cat that wanted your food. lol Titus Canyon Road was awesome and beautiful. The wild burros were so cute. What an amazing adventure. I have been watching since this morning and love every one of them. You make amazing videos. Have you ever hiked the Appalachian Trail? I live in North Carolina and the trail is in part of the Appalachian Mountains and the Great Smokies. I wish when I was younger I would of hiked. We just drove to the mountains, got on the parkway and just drove, never hiking to see the special things to see. Thank you for sharing.
That area is so fascinating! That cat was relentless 😂
No we’ve never hiked the Appalachian Trail other than very brief sections. Maybe one day!
Those burros! ❤ They might like van life. 😊 Maybe one would dance with you in your outros. 😂
haha we think they would too! 😂
The town of Beatty reminds me of Oatman, AZ with the wild Burros roaming freely.
We just learned of Oatman today! Will have to check it out someday!
Love the Burros🌵...there's a town on Route 66 that is also known for roaming burros...called Oatman, in Arizona...you guys are too cute for words. 🤗
We will have to go there someday!
YES what an epic adventure! Watched on the big screen TV…amazing! What a nail bitter of a drive! Was that a one way road? Chili, Cats and Burros does it get any better? Great video guys! Highly recommend those watching to watch on big screen truly get the full experience and landscaping is stunning! ~Cara 😊
It was one way until the last few miles thankfully! Glad y’all enjoyed the video!
That canyon road was awesome! Fun video, and congrats on 90K subs!
Thank you so much! Pretty crazy!
I've driven down the Moki Dugway, which was a hoot, so I can imagine how much fun Titus Canyon was. Go back to Beatty and get a burro, you know you want too.
We so want to!
Oh my ! Holy flashback. I was a waitress at Holy Cow brewery while I went to UNLV in 1994/95 lol thanks for the memory!
And my old professor Dr. Deacan did the research on pupfish. I was an Environemental studies minor at UNLV and he was the head of the program.
Wow! How cool that you have so many ties to this video!
I had never heard of airing down and airing up tires. Great idea! Speaking of burros, Oatmeal , AZ has burros too....on old Route 66. Happy travels and THANK YOU!
Oops. Phone gave me Oatmeal. It is Oatman. East of Kingman
Oatmeal! What a fun name!
I don't know if you are trying to be funny or not. If you are that's cute . if not, the town is Oatman not oatmeal.
Hahaha okay, I see the edit now. Well, not as fun of a name, but if it has burros, we are still down!
The moment you come to a realization that you might be doctor Dolittle. Lol great video
The dream!!! 🙌🏼
@@AdventuresofAplusK 😅
We stayed at the Longstreet Inn & Casino in December, and I groped the cow like Adam. We men are such silly silly creatures. 😝 The Devil's Hole is pretty cool, and you can see footage of the earthquake in the Death Valley Visitor Center. Seeing snow in the desert is always amazing.
LOL! I told him to do it 😜
@@AdventuresofAplusK haha I got no such orders! Can’t wait to see what you two did there
Some great adventures! The Titus Canyon road looked awesome! Great job getting a bit out of your comfort zone for driving the van. I think its good you're becoming more familiar with airing up/down the tires... will likely come in very handy in Alaska. The cat would have annoyed me to death, the burrows were cool. Kathryn is pronouncing "Nevada" correctly. =)
It definitely will come in handy! And we just love animals too much to let them annoy us ❤️
Loving the content as always! And appreciate the research you do. Congrats on 90k!
Here’s your random question for the day ...Katherine, what’s your lip color? Loving it!
Thank you Kara! ❤️ It's called Backstage by Revlon.
Great video!! At first I was thinking that ya'll may have bought a too small compressor, but since it worked.... well it worked. (LOL)
Love the burros, just like Cripple Creek, and the cat was just precious. If you didn't know, it is a tortoise shell cat. We did Moki Dugway in Feb, and so I have a feeling what you just experienced with the switch backs, although we are terrifically smaller than your van. Can't wait to see what you find in Death Valley so.... until next time... Travel Safe.
It worked super well! Adam made sure to read TONS of reviews haha.
@@AdventuresofAplusK I've got the 400P and it works very well for us and the Xterra. I made a hose contraption where I can inflate or deflate 2 tires at a time, but I'm not running the pressures you are.
Oh cool! We hope this one continues to hold up for us. The one we really wanted wasn't possible to get quickly on the road, but so far, so good!
What a great trip! Full of quirky stops, right up my alley! Loved the burro's and the kitty, think I would have gently wafted him off the table, lol. Loved the sculptures, the "ghostly" last dinner was kind of creepy but cool at the same time. Hate driving on gravel roads so cudo's to you Adam!! Too long but because you guys do it, I don't have to! : ) Started wondering how you guys manage to afford gas these days!! Are you going back to patreon anytime soon? It might help! Thanks again for a great video. Safe trip!
LOL we tried! She quickly came back, so we just embraced her presence! And we are cutting back on other expenses to make up for fuel costs. We don't have the bandwidth to have Patreon anymore (in the way we feel comfortable having it), but we are thankful that our travel content business is doing well and that's all because of y'all watching and reading!
Quite the road to take with your camper van. There's one like that in Arizona called the Apache trail. Unfortunately part of it washed out after some fires and may take long time if ever, to be open again.
We will have to look into that and see if we can attempt it someday!
I drove the apache trail a number of years ago and found it pretty intimidating. I don't remember meeting up with any traffic headed the other direction (I was on the drop off side) or it would have terrified me.
Welp, now I feel dumb. We stayed in Beatty and drove in the normal road lol. Hope you guys do Mosaic Canyon and Golden Canyon/Gower Gulch!!! Some awesome surprises on those hikes.
We did both! Excited to share the video later this week!
❤️
Ash Meadows and the puff fish are AWESOME!!! Happy Burro is on the Bucket List. Not the Chili The Cat. Allergic.
I had to be super careful to not touch my eyes after playing with Chili! We may have gotten lucky to have her appear!
Fun video, I'm born and raised in NV, love our state! I hope you guys take a trip out to Area 51! YOU'RE so close!!!!
Maybe next time!
Hello Adam and Kathryn, my wife loves your videos with all her heart if your ever around Henderson in NV please let us know
Or if possible please give my wife Rebecca Worley a shout out in your next video she would really love that!
Tell Rebecca hi for us! 👋🏼👋🏼
I showed her your message and she got super excited and her voice got all squeaky! You just made her day! ❤️
$2,200... for a cow?! Each to their own but I'd rather spend that kind of money on an epic adventure! 🤣 But I guess if it makes people stop and brings in more money to the casino, maybe it's a good investment! The springs at Ash Meadows were so pretty, definite reminder of Yellowstone. You guys were both so good with that cat at lunch, I'd have had zero tolerance over it climbing onto me for food as I was trying to eat. You guys are officially far nicer people than I am! I really liked the burros. I think I've told you guys about our 'New Forest' National Park that has wild horses and ponies that roam around it, and the burros here seemed so similar! Titus Canyon Road looked fantastic, I was thinking it's like a dirt track version of the Moki Dugway... then you made reference to that road. Great minds. Was so surprised when you guys entered into the canyon towards the end which seems stupid given the name!
We just love animals! So we will gladly take them climbing on us if it means they pay attention to us haha. It did get a bit old after a bit, but once we scarfed down the food it was play time. 😃 Ash Meadows definitely gave us Yellowstone/Idaho vibes as well! And we would love to see some wild horses and ponies!
Another highlight of my day; the burros; cat and chili. Great job; but why so long from filming?😎
I am not 100% sure what you mean, but if you mean why the video is a few weeks delayed it's for a few reasons. 1. We always post delayed so that our exact whereabouts are a secret, for our own privacy and safety. 2. It takes a TON of time to edit these videos, which we don't have much of between filming and other tasks. 3. With only releasing 2 videos a week, we often have a backlog of videos and it takes a while to get them published. Hopefully that clarifies!
Yee-Haa!! Been a long time since I've been down the Titus Canyon Blvd. '78 I believe. Used to work some out of Beatty and spent days out there drilling and testing for a madame that owned a house of ill-repute there. Seems some miners swapped there prospects for some other prospects. Enough said about that. Always loved the scenery there. The geology is radical. I too, camped at those springs. Great video. Y'all are a work of art on your editing. Loved your dog and the snowball, however i would have found the cat a nuisance. See y'all next week. Be safe. Peace.
Oh wow, pretty cool that you have some history out there!
A new ghost town and random animal interactions - this video was fantastic! People who know my bucket list think it's weird I don't have Death Valley NP on there, so I'm getting excited for what's to come! I might have to change the list. In the meantime, two things: 1) some older friends that I've pulled into watching your videos said they didn't feel so old when you knew Bob Barker and "Price Is Right" in the last video (you're making people feel young!), and 2) I've booked my flights to Anchorage for July 2 to 13, but I'm running into a big problem: rental cars in Alaska. They're $200/day these days (or more)! I know you don't have to worry about rental cars, but I'm wondering from your long travel history if you have any general advice on avoiding expensive rental cars in places like Alaska. Thanks!
We are excited to share the next video! The park is really unique and has a surprise or two! We both used to watch The Price is Right a lot as kids. I spent a whole summer binging the Game Show Network after foot surgery once haha.
Ugh yeah I heard that was the case last year from a friend. We were hoping to have my parents visit us in Alaska, but lodging and rental cars are $$$. Have you looked into Turo? I hear that’s more affordable.
I used to watch "The Price Is Right" as a kid as well, and I still think of any route where I have to make a lot of turns as "Plinko". Yes, Game Show Network was what got us all through surgeries before there was Netflix!
Thank you for the tip on Turo. I just started looking, and I'm starting to see perhaps as low as $169/day on Turo in Anchorage... this might help!
We are glad maybe it’ll help save a little bit of $$!
FUN critters! COOL drive!! .. did you link to the air-downing/air-upping tools? Seems like the way to go. thanks for another great video!! What a fun trip!
We just added a page for van gear on our website! You can find it here: adventuresofaplusk.com/gear/
I love watching y’all! You make me want to make a road trip every weekend! Can’t wait til you get closer to Alaska! Love the donkey’s, there is a couple small towns in AZ that have them. Made my day to see them too! Hey quick question, I am planning to move to Texas this fall; work is moving me. Our office is located in Dallas and Austin. I need a lower cost of living and a very mild winter and low humidity. Any suggestions? I have watched all your Texas videos and everything is amazing there! I was looking at Lubbock.
Thank you for watching! So are you able to live away from those cities a bit? In our opinion, the Texas Hill Country (near Austin) is the best area to live. There is just tons to do nearby and the weather is mild (humidity can be tougher, but not as bad as Houston). Lubbock and the panhandle area get very cold and also do get snow (but are wayyy drier). Austin itself is getting extremely $$$, but there are some smaller towns and cities near Austin and between Austin and San Antonio that are more affordable. We also really love San Antonio!
@@AdventuresofAplusK yes, I almost prefer country. I was thinking about the small towns near Austin and San Antonio. I just need really good internet. I wondered about the winters near Lubbock. Thank you so much!!
One of those AZ towns with the burros all over is Oatman.
Can’t wait to watch this one! Not sure if you already are more north, but if not, will you do a collaboration with Ghost Town Living??? That’ll be super fun!!
We wish we could’ve visited Cerro Gordo! We were super close to it on our last day in Death Valley, but Brisket couldn’t handle the drive up the road there.
@@AdventuresofAplusK aww, ok! Looking forward to your continued adventure up the west coast!!! I love all the historical tidbits you put in your content!! ❤️
Great Video- love the cat and Burros, did Kona smell the cat on you
She didn't seem to notice! We were worried she would be jealous of both animals!
I was at Devils Hole and it's kind of creepy. Apparently some people have drowned there and the bodies were never found. On a side note, I love burros. I've encountered wild burros on several of my adventures and they are some of the sweetest animals there are.
I read about that story! I thought that was pretty wild!
Burros are super cool! They are super sweet
Great video. I love seeing all of your stops that get over looked a lot. We have a travel trailer now and have considered going to a van. Do you know what kind of fuel economy you get in the van?
We love the overlooked / off the beaten path spots! With our 2019 Sprinter diesel we get 17-22ish on the highway and a little less in town.
What a fun video! I loved Chili the Tortie kitty! Fun fact, she's most likely a female. Almost all torties and calicoes are females. :)
Thanks, Kim! And thanks for watching! ❤️
Your video covered parts of Death Valley National Park I never heard of... It was nice to have moments with wildlife too.
P.S.- if you were eating lunch outside at Blake island in Seattle, you would be sharing chili with raccoons instead of felines 🤣🦝
Hahaha we will gladly take the cat over raccoons! 😂
@@AdventuresofAplusK it was funny and terrifying 🤣🤷
