      I know a guy who makes a living off affiliate marketing on websites he built and now they are basically on autopilot (20 hours/week). His sites have visitors from all over the world and all day all night they keep coming (from search engines, Google, Bing, Yandex). It is a real-life example of "making money while you sleep".

    Pat, you've got a lot of good info. I've found that all of you guys follow a similar path. (1) You never had any experience marketing. (2) You lose your job or quit or can't get a job and then rely on your mom and dad, sister, or the income from your dad's liquor store to pay the bills while you...(3) Try a lot of stuff online until you sell a few thousand dollars worth of stuff and suddenly become an expert. There are a few exceptions, but most of the time you have other folks paying for your living until you have some very small sales then proclaim yourselves as "experts", and then sell yourselves as the online marketing experts. For folks like myself who are the breadwinners for actual families and have no mom and dad's basement or sister's couch to sleep on or dad's liquor store we need something that based on a more common reality. One where we have to work our asses off at a day job to take care of everyone and everything while we try to transition to the other thing. That's what's real bro. You may want to address this to be more relatable.

    I feel somewhat happier since I found this channel, as I must keep generating income into my 60s. Not easy to do if you think about it. I read constantly of ageism when looking for a job. Well, I have a life-time of skills, so now I will keep listening to Pat -- who seems so genuine and giving -- and create some passive streams of income! Thank you, Pat Flynn!

    This is only the 2nd video of yours I've watched and I just wanted to say that most finance/entrepreneurship advice-givers tend to hold key details close to the check, if you will. This often leaves me needing to seek more information and usually to other channels to find the information I need. Thank you for "sticking your neck out" for us. I have subscribed.

    Hi Pat! My name is Jenn and I found your website back in 2013 when I was looking into how to make passive income. I have been an avid follower (and email subscriber) since 2013 and appreciate all of your free essential knowledge you provide to your community. When I first found your site about smart passive income, I read about your life story and how you first started. I’ve mentioned your story to more than a few people and I’ll never forget it! Mainly about how you were studying to pass an extremely difficult test to become an architect, and while you were riding to work each day (your regular 9-5 job), you used that time to create your own study notes on a wordpress account you created, as that worked best for you. The fact that you mentioned in your story of how random individuals were contacting you or leaving you comments about how helpful your study notes were for that particular test and how they were following your wordpress for that purpose, was very inspiring. From that, in reading about how you ended up creating an eBook from it and that feeling you described of the first night you sold your first eBook, provided me such an optimistic view on passive income. In my opinion, I have yet to find any other person that is as selfless and genuine as yourself in helping people create their own passive income, with providing free knowledge, tips, resources, etc. Also, when first discovering you, your site and reading about your life story 5+ years ago, my gut feeling has foreseen you surpassing all professional and technological barriers...meaning I believe you will go as far as being the next Bill Gates. You are truly inspiring, Thank you for doing all that you do!
    Best,
    Jenn Proulx

    Today I've made a big decision about my passive income model. After 6 years of trying to build a website to bring passive income and doing everything I can to make it a success, I've decided to close it down. I did CAOC to try to create passive income through courses, I follow every bit of advice I get, I bought the Smart Passive pro theme to make my site look great (love it by the way), I spent money on the site, but I think it's time to throw in the towel. Not selling any ebooks, any affiliate products, or courses, and just paying for hosting, domain name and email autoresponder month after month after becoming a widow who has more debt than income, I think it's time to count my losses and move on. Thanks for your great advice.

    I would personally like to start something similar to your SecurityGuardTrainingHQ site. Obviously this speaks to a very specific niche and from listening to your podcast, it sounds like you were one of the first to provide anything like this. How did you decide on this idea for your website? or how would I find a niche that is relatively "untapped", yet still has the reach to be profitable?

    I love Pat's down to earth attitude and passive income tips! I like how he shows real-life examples. It's easy to talk a big talk, but Pat walks the walk too. (And busts killer dance moves - see video.) Ultimately, Pat creates high quality content for niche audiences, which is good for everybody involved. The passive income part is great, but as Pat shows, it takes some real effort up front. I'm hoping my podcast for pet owners, "Fuzzy Lives Forever!" one day finds an audience! (I'm a vet - gotta play to your strengths, right?) In an Internet full of fluff, Pat delivers on substance. Thank you!

    Inspiration & Value As Always Pat !
    You mentioned a couple things that sparked my interest or at the very least caught my attention. However, if you were to go, "Back In Time." ( btw. Nice new / old school Mario art in the background ) What tools, resources, tips would you give for an older ( less tech savvy ) guy such as myself who has attempted ( with very little success ) to even build out their very first website / blog ? I know it can be seen as, "an excuse" with all the plug n play style website builders out there. But, my personal issue ( & maybe others out here ) has been that when come across a technical snafu ( anyone use that word anymore ) & something doesn't look or appear right on my site or blog. I get frustrated, turn the computer off & move onto to something else. How did you develop the skills, mindset & focus to even begin putting out your own unique content out here to the cyber world & ultimately grab the attention of thousands ( or millions or more ) of us ? Simply of a couple thoughts. Thanks Pat ! Oh & one last thing. TEAM. Is another word your mentioned several times. How did you find your team or was it the other way around. How did they find you ? Appreciate all you do ! Would be absolutely stoked to share a conversation or a cup of Joe ( tea ? ) with you. We are both local. SD. Thanks again ! #TeamFlynn. Cheers !

    Thanks again Pat for another great info session. You are The Go-TO Dude for info of this type. For years I have been helping people in my work sector for free with advice on how to get things done. Your section on e-books and publishing books is of special interest to me. I also saw one of your other videos on methods you use to write a book and I can relate to the pain you describe at the beginning and the frustration and mental blocks you hit. Your method with post it notes is so darn clever and I used it recently to plan out a training session and guess what, I got it done in half the time it normally takes me. Once again Thank You mate!!

    This is one of my favorites in a while. As I have been following your work and learning from you for a couple years now, this really helps to layout the diverse business model that supports your financial success. I think affiliate sales will be the stream I use first. I would love to try and create a really good niche site one day as well. I think that would be a fun challenge but will stay on the back burner while I work on the project I started in your "Smart From Scratch" Course. Thanks again!

    • @ZenRoseGarden
      @ZenRoseGarden 6 років тому +2

      Slow and steady, always stumbling forward while gaining confidence & skills. My wife & I released our first book on Amazon almost 8 years ago, a collection of her poetry that tells a story of setting the Divine Feminine free. Haven't done much marketing yet as we've had other things on our plates, so no real traffic or income, but we learned the process. As far as affiliate marketing, we have passive links at the end of our YT video descriptions that highlight some of the tools we're using, and that's starting to gain some traction. We actually just received our first small commission from that (which proves concept, so we'll continue). We will eventually start doing videos specific to those tools, as they fit which will boost traction. Hope that helps.

All 9 strategies are very inspiring to me as I have followed your progress when you initiated each one of those in previous years! I have started working on a youtube channel where we publish new content each week. The strategy is build an audience by publishing new content each week for the first 6 months. Then as we work on our next 6 months to start applying some affiliate marketing strategies.

    Nice video. I see you have a lot of channels that generate income to you, but I'm wondering how you promote all those channels?! Is it with paid advertising? The more channels you have, the more time and money you have to spent promoting them to succeed.... How you deal with this part? Where do you promote them? I know isn't enough to have a published book on Amazon... You need to get a site... you need to call people on your site.... etc...

    I already have the books part - but I especially like the one(s) about making a site or article about something that people want to learn how to do.... Like becoming a security guard etc....Perhaps How to Become a CIA Officer? hmmmm, thanks Pat!

    how do you create the websites? do you pay for them?

    • @patflynn
      @patflynn  6 років тому

      You can make them yourself, there are a lot of options from getting a hosting package somewhere, Squarespace or Wix. Or, you can have someone help you set them up for you, too.

    I really appreciate your videos! Have learned a ton from a lot of the content you put out around starting a podcast. It helped tremendously in getting mine off the ground. For anybody in the comments looking to start their podcast watch Pat's stuff for it. I also really enjoyed his video with Sunny Lennarduzzi about how to start a podcast. It was also super valuable!
