My sincere thanks for this video, and it is very cool that you are still checking in with comments 2 1/2 years later. I just couldn't pull the trigger on a $800 grinder. This was invaluable!
love the way the little monster is watching his servant make his food. I also like that you actually show it working, with no rock music in the background.
For anyone out there that's interested, this same exact grinder with the same exact specs is sold under a few different brand names..I was able to just order one for only $151 and that's after taxes and shipping so it's much more affordable at this pt.
I purchased a Lem #10 Manual Grinder for $113, Stainless Steel. Also purchased 7Lbs. chicken leg quarters. I cut the leg quarters into 3 pieces at the joints with a knife and the grinder ate them without any problems. It came with a 3/8" course grind plate, a 3/16" fine grinding plate, and stainless steel cutting blade. I used the 3/8" plate. I noticed the store had replacement blades for about $20. This grinder is very well-built. I'm glad I didn't have to spend $400 to get the job done, and storage won't be a problem either.
Nothing wrong with a manual grinder. I used one quite a bit when I was younger. I think I may even still have one somewhere. If it works for you, that is fantastic. For me I do about 60lbs every month and a half or so. Do to having such a busy lifestyle, it is a time saver for me, and worth the money. But I completely get, and can appreciate where you are coming from. Thanks for watching, and have a great day.
@@DevaultFamilyLiving I just thought it would be good for people to know there is an alternative to the higher-priced grinders. I didn't see anyone mention manual grinders when researching. I could definitely see where an electric would make grinding much faster when doing large amounts, and yours really breezed through those quarters. The manual that came with mine did recommend using half-frozen meat. I didn't on my first batch today. My manual also recommended using bread to clean out the grinder, which worked well.
I am so grateful for your video! I saved over $200 on a meat grinder and got more HP!! With tax and free shipping, it was under $370!! I'm getting a dog and this was one of the biggest up front costs for me. Your review was so helpful. My future pittie is going to be so happy and healthy! Thank you for making this possible!♥♥😁🎉 -Marisa
No kick backs. Although they did offer to send me other merchandise to review. I just did not have a need for anything else they offered at the time so I turned them down. I consider my payment is helping others find a good product at a reasonable price. Comments like yours bring a smile to my face, and that is more then money to me. Thanks for the kind words. Have a great day.
I just purchased this meat grinder ...it was $400 but cheaper than any other 1.5 hp grinder. I'm only using it to grind chicken bones for my dogs so I don't need a high end model that costs a lot more. Thanks for your review and thanks for saving me a lot of money 👍
Your welcome. You should have no problems with the 1HP. I have heard that the 3/4 HP Weston is even sufficient. I wish you luck with the Weston. As long as the dogs are happy, and healthy. That is all that matters. Thanks for watching and have a fantastic day.
Thanks. It has been a surprisingly good grinder for the money. Especially when compared to other brands of similar size and features. Thanks for watching.
Wow, impressive! I've got the Cabela's 1 3/4 horse commercial grade meat grinder and have been afraid to run chicken or turkey bones through it....I have the confidence to try it now. Thank you. Great job 👍
It has be a good time saver for us. I have run several hundred pounds through it with no issues. The Calbela's 3/4 horse should handle chicken bones with no issue as well. I am pretty sure that is what a lot of RAW diet people use.
@@DevaultFamilyLiving The 3/4 horse probably will...I actually have the 1 3/4 horse...I think I got it on sale but it's an absolute beast. That's an impressive little grinder you're using...great find.
So glad you made this video. I bought the grinder, it was on sale, so I got a good price. Shipping was less than a week. It chomped though 10 lb leg quarters in less than 3 minutes and was quiet. Thanks for recommending.
****UPDATE*** 3/13/23 - Grinder is still work great. It is my understanding that this grinder has been out of stock at Costway for some time. There is a similar one on Vevor, but I can't speak on the reliability or quality of that one. It does appear to be a similar product though.
Great review video ! We process 2-3 hogs per year and a couple deer if we're lucky. This grinder seems like it would be perfect for our needs. I will probably add a 15amp foot pedal from amazon . Something like the WEN WA0392 .
That would be a great addition for processing a lot of meat at one time. I would have never thought of that. We have most of our meat processed at the slaughter house when be buy a half beef, or a pig. We pretty much only use it exclusively to for our dog's food now. Thanks for watching.
Still working very well. No problems at all. Although I do need to sharpen the blade and cutting plates pretty soon. Just haven't gotten around to it yet. I hope that you have as good of luck with yours as I have had with mine. Thanks for watching and have a great day.
Just got mine finally, worked like a charm, chicken thighs, and necks like butter, one word of caution ⚠ I had to go over the inside of where the large screw mechanism goes into. While cleaning before use I could feel and see very sharp edges from the machining process, went over it with a drumel and some small metal fragments came loose. Word to the wise. Thanks for the video.
Glad you are happy with it. I did end up checking my grinder when I got it for extra casting material. Lucky for me, I did not have extra burs or castings. Really good thing to mention though. Great investment IMO. With the extra money that they are offering for new customers (I think you stated that you got $40 off), it is really hard deal to pass up. Thanks again for watching.
FYI the only raw food review on costway is identical (absolutely word for word) identical to another grinder on Amazon (the one about raw feeding and the person is 60+ years old). That’s a bummer it’s like a scam review or stollen but appreciate your review on video. That I trust far more than any review and Thank You so much for demonstrating!!! It’s nice to actually see it chew through the skin, fat and especially the bone. I have a mini Aussie who loves to eat whole bone but her brother who’s husky/aussie mix hates the entire chicken leg or hindquarters. He loves the bone but doesn’t seem to know what to do with an entire chicken leg lol so I’m hoping he’ll appreciate me grinding his food together
It does not surprise me. Part of putting stuff out on the internet now days. I made the video to hopefully help other people save some money. Our Mildred is a gluten and doesn't know how to chew up the bones enough. Hopefully your pouch will appreciate it. Thanks for watching, and have a fantastic day.
@@DevaultFamilyLiving Thank you! You’re review absolutely helped, I almost bought the Weston #12 but right after watching I ordered the same one you have. I hate to spend almost $700 on something I’ll only use for my dogs and maybe occasionally for myself but absolutely appreciate your review, it was very honest, open and needed! I’ve been buying raw food from “k9 RawFed” but due to economy they went up in price again and knew I needed to go back to making their food myself but transitioning my boy Sawyer hasn’t been easy because he won’t eat on a full chicken leg. He’ll run away with it and eat the bone part but spits out the meat including any larger chunks of liver and chicken heart so I think he’s used to everything ground down and indistinguishable lol. Again thank you, I’d love to see how you prep and what you feed your dogs so if you share I’d be glad to watch. Thanks again
Thanks for the video. I just bought mine and can't wait to use it. All of the comments are very helpful. A raw diet is definitely the way to go. There is a book by Lew Olson that gives newcomers a good start on raw feeding.
Your welcome. I hope you like yours as much as we have. Because this thing is so powerful, it has cut our food making time down by at least 75%. We usually make about 80lbs at a time. After doing the RAW diet, I don't think I could ever go back to dry food for any dog. The difference in energy and health for our Mildred were unbelievable. Thanks for watching, and have a fantastic day.
LOL. Thanks. I never quite understood the whole unboxing thing. I guess it is important to someone. Thanks for watching, and thanks for the subscribe. Have a great day.
Was a good review but geez I add in a safety message. Always turn power off at the wall during assembly and disassembly. Super important if you value your hands
I decided to go big on my grinder. Wanted lots hp, reverse, big opening , got all that and the truck delivering could not get down my street and the grinder was loaded on a pallet. Worked out well i put it on a rolling cart.
@@DevaultFamilyLiving It's a # 22 from The Sausage maker at 60lbs or so I can still move around if needed. Yes, bigger is better. I used to grind with the kitchen aid mixer, and the price was a bargain to me. There is no chicken or turkey bone safe with me as I can drop the whole leg and thigh and away she goes.
Wonderful video! Have you had any jams from the hard cartilage/white slippery chunks that are on the ends of the chicken drumsticks? Or the skin getting tied around the internal parts? If not, do you think it’s because you are using a coarser grinding plate? I have Boston Terriers and they don’t chew but swallow things whole and I worry about the bone fragments that come with using a coarser plate. I don’t want their esophagus or stomach getting cut up with bone fragments. I have an LEM #32 and use the finest plate and while the bone is sand-like when you feel with your fingers, the jams of all those white plastic-like parts of the drumstick are often so I have to disassemble everything which is a huge chore in a grinder with extremely heavy parts. Let me know your thoughts on this, and thank you
I have used both plates. Never had any type of jamb what so ever. As far as bone fragments, I have never had any that would concern me with either plate. After I grind the meat, I mix all my vegetables, eggs, etc. in a tub with my bare hands. I have never felt any shards, never cut my skin, and never felt anything to be concerned with. Our English bulldog is the same when eating, or as I call it, inhaling. She chews nothing. Now I can't tell you there would never be a fragment, but I have never seen or felt one after grinding about 600 - 800 lbs of meat. I hope this helps answer your question.
@@DevaultFamilyLiving Thanks! I ordered it but the fit and finish was really bad, but the main thing is that meat backed up into the area right in front of the motor, around the rivets, in areas I needed to use a toothpick in to try and get it out, there was no gasket anywhere to keep this from happening. I found it when I removed the chute assembly to clean it. Is there any gasket in yours? I made some videos showing what happened, but putting links in here will just be removed. I ground just 4 lbs of skinless chicken legs but the bone shards were too large and ended up grinding it three times to get it down to a coarse sandy size. When I opened to clean, all those white knobby things were stuck in there, it didn't affect things yet since I only did 4 lbs, but if I had gone any longer, it would have been a problem. My LEM #32 backed up too, but with the larger assembly it took a little longer. Let me know if yours has any kind of gasket to keep meat from backing up. Thanks!
@@btpuppy2 there is no gasket to my knowledge. I am sorry that you are having these issues. I do get some particles in that area as well. Not a lot, but definitely some. I did on my old grinder as well. It can be a pain to clean. I use compressed air to blow the area out before I clean it. Definitely helps get all the particles from the crevasses. I have an air compressor where I grind the dogs food. If you don't have access to a air compressor, you can purchase small cans of compressed air (normally used for cleaning computers & keyboards). I hope this info helps.
Branded as Vevor this grinder is $250 shipped. Make sure you buy the one with the removable throat. There's a slightly cheaper model that bolts and unbolts in. Avoid that one.
Responding to dropfry comment. After reading your comment I found other products like the one you referenced i.e. Barton and Happybuy and others and almost bought one. After doing a little more digging I found there’s no answer to the phone number they give you to call to get questions answered. And a 90 day warranty and the like. On one of them I had to go through Amazon to have a question relayed to them. When I did get a ‘response’ they didn’t answer my question at all. My experience with them raised big red flags. Decided not to buy from them. After quite a bit of research into Costway I felt satisfied with my experience with them. As usual, do sufficient research to hopefully avoid surprises.
@@btpuppy2 At 2:30 he calls it a "T tube" he mentions the quick release lever. There is another model that doesn't have that lever. It has bolts instead. If you aren't paying attention to it you might accidently buy that one and regret it.
What size is this grinder? #12 or #22? Has anyone bought additional plates for this grinder? Sausage plate or courser grind? Are the plates universal? Thanks for the video!!
The cutting plates are #22's. I have not purchased any additional plates so I really don't know if the plates are universal or not. Maybe someone else has had some experience with other plates and they will chime in. Thanks for watching.
@@DevaultFamilyLiving To confirm, I have purchased an after market 1/2" plate, a stuffing plate, and a stuffing tube for this unit and they work perfectly. So far, Great machine!!
@@marikalemay1218 so sorry just seeing this. I actually went on Facebook Marketplace here in Austin and I found a few people who sell aftermarket plates.
Thank for taking ur time to make this video! I was just about to buy a weston 22 or 32. I'm so glad I stumbled upon this video.. I see you left a review on their website, pretty cool. I also noticed you left that review a few months ago, which begs me to ask how your grinder is holding up ???? Any suggestions? How frequent do you think you use it ?? Thanks for your time, I really do appreciate it 🙏
Thank you. I use it quite often. I grind about 60 to 70lbs of chicken (bone and all) roughly every 6 weeks for my dog. That is the main reason that I purchased it. I have also done some pork loin and venison as well. It has worked flawless to date. I have not one single complaint that I can think of. At this point of me owning it, I would buy it again. Thanks for watching and have a great day.
Awesome man ! I'm stoked to start using it my for my 3 dogs. I've been feeding raw for about 4 years now and I have been putting this off for to longggg... I think this will make prep a breeze and a much cleaner feeding than having chicken bones all broken up on my floor . Preciate you getting back so fast man🙏
Yes Ma'am. I still grind about 80lbs of meat & veggies about every 2 1/2 months. It is still working as good as was when new. Thank you for watching, and have a fantastic day.
@@DevaultFamilyLiving no problem! I just got a bernedoodle and she loves raw meat so I definitely want a grinder and am switching to the raw diet. Thanks again!
I have a weston 22 and it works on chicken, rabbit, fish, but can't grind turkey or pork, or deer bones. Wish i could have gotten a hobart bone and meat grinder.
I do. It has been fantastic and has worked flawlessly. To date, I have had no problems with it. Thank you so much for watching and subscribing. Much appreciated. Have a great day
Thank you. This grinder has been amazing. Not a single problem with it. I haven't even had a single jamb in it to date. So far, I can't say enough good about it. Thank you again for watching, and the subscription is much appreciated. Have a great day.
Still going strong. I haven't had a single problem with it yet. Raw diet is a lot of work, but it is worth the health benefits to them. They will love you more for it.
Thanks for your video. I just purchased one.Used Several times, very heavy with the results. The only thing that I wished for would be other sizes cutting plates. It came with an 8 and 10mm. Smaller sizes needed. If anyone know how to get Smaller size plates that would work on this machine reach out.
I have not even looked for a small size cutting plate, but would be very interested if someone chimes in that knows of any. Thanks for watching. If I run across anything, I will be sure to let you know.
They have went out of stock multiple times since I made this video. If it is anything like the past, it usually takes them 1-2 months to get them back in stock.
I got to digging into this thing and found that it's a Vevor grinder rebranded. Finally wound up at the Vevor site and after going through their registration and a small coupon I ordered one of them for $217 bucks. Tickle me with a feather....
I am going to sharpen my knives and cutter plates soon (for the first time). I have not had any reason to look for new parts at this time. Both of the plates and knives are stamped with a #22 which are sold on Amazon and through other suppliers. Just look up "meat grinder cutter plates and blades #22". I don't believe that the seller of the grinder offers replacement parts, as this grinder is made for multiple suppliers, and sold under different brand names.
I am looking for a new grinder , this was a great video, ty....do you have any videos doing the barf diet with the 6mm plate, i have tiny dogs that require a finer grind and my grinder takes FOREVER
Unfortunately I do not have any videos with the 6mm plate. I have really only used the larger plate. I can say that there is no lack of power with this grinder. After all the use that I have put it through, I have never once been had it bind up or jam. Up until the last time I used it, I never even heard it boog down. That was the first and only time, and on a piece of chicken that was completely frozen solid. My fault for not letting everything thaw properly. I suspect that the grinder would do just as well with the 6mm plate.
@@DevaultFamilyLiving the grinder i use now i have to grind the meat 2 times, once with a wagon wheel plate, then with the fine grind plate..i noticed you only had to grind once with yours, im just not sure if that will work with the 6mm plate...ty for getting back to me😊
@@101frankielee my wife just reminded me that we have tried the 6mm plate (when we first got the grinder), but it was to fine for our liking. Our pup does not chew anything, and that is why we went with the courser grind. She has to at least chew a little bit then. Otherwise she just inhales it. Maybe someone else will chime in that uses the 6mm plate as well. I am pretty confident there would be no issues.
I can't answer that for certain, because I have never done turkey. However, I would guess that it would have no problem since turkey bones are hollow like chicken (just larger). I have tried to jam it up on purpose, and have not been able to. So far I have run about 120- 140 lbs of chicken quarters through it and it has not jammed once, or even struggled a little bit. Super impressed with it for the price. Thank you for watching, and have a fantastic day.
Can you tell if the "T' tube is stainless as well or is it aluminum. I've got an older grinder, loud as hell and it's starting to wear .... it's all aluminum I think..... except for the ss blade, steel screen thing and shaft on the auger. Thanks for posting the video.
The T tube on this unit is most definitely stainless steel. It is very heavy as well. Pretty much the hole unit is stainless. Very high quality for the price IMO. Thanks for watching, and have a great day.
@ deuvalt family living After you finish grinding throw a few ice cubes in or a couple pieces of bread to push the rest of the meat through. We have a lem, heavy as all heck, loud like a train but it's a beast, zero issues. Like a 3" chute or something, will accept massive leg/thigh cuts... three biggish dogs eating about 3.5 lbs a day. We also add organ meat like heart, gizzard, brain, kidney n such from beef usually. If you ever put something like brain through the grinder, put your free hand in front of the die to keep it from squirting brain across the kitchen.
Great suggestion. I would have never thought of that. I do gizzards with the chicken, and occasionally beef liver. LOL on the brains across the kitchen. Gave me a little chuckle this morning. Thanks for your input. Thanks for watching, and have a great day.
I have not done chicken feet. I dont believe they would be a problem, but I can't say with 100% certainty. Our dogs usually get those as treats and eat them like a bone. Maybe someone else will chime in.
The grinder is still going strong. Not a single issue. Still have only done chicken bones at this time. I have heard of a few people running turkey and partridge through it as well.
Not quite sure I understand the question. If you are asking if there were any sharp "toothpick" like pieces of the bone, then no. On all the chicken that I have ever done, the bone gets ground into very tiny pieces with just one pass through the grinder. They are about the size of the tip of a pencil when they come out. Hope that I was able to answer what you were asking. If not let me know. Thanks for watching, and have a great day.
Is the brand of this grinder actually Costway? They don’t have it in stock and haven’t for weeks. You sold me on it and I’m hoping there is another way to get it.
Lorrie, there is no branding or trademarks of any kind on the grinder anywhere. I would guess that it is grinder that is sold to many companies that re-brand it as their own. It is a shame that they are out of stock for so long, because it has been a great grinder. I have had no issues what so ever. You may try a website like Vevor. They carry a lot of stuff that I believe they just re-brand. If I happen to get some extra time and am able to find one, I will pin a comment at the top of the comment section. Good luck
@@lorriemize3177 I did check on Vevor's website and they do have a similar model (some 1100 watt rating and same 550 lbs/ hour rating). It even looks similar except it doesn't seem to have the reverse feature, and the grinder tube appears to be bolted on vs quick release with the set screw. It does get 4.8 out of 5 on reviews, and it is currently $259.99. Not sure if that helps or not, but I will continue to keep my eye out for an exact match.
I'm very impressed and think I wan to purchase this. I am trying to figure out how long ago you made this video and how the machine is holing up after multiple uses?
The video was release on Oct 4 2021. The grinder still works as good today as the day I took it from the package. We use it about every month or so to grind up the dogs food. Run anywhere from 60-80 pounds through it at a time. I have not once had any issue with it at all. I am still shocked that it has been as good as it has for the cost in comparison to other brands of the same size. I hope that helps you. Have yourself a fantastic day, and thanks for watching.
@@carolynrordam7893 I am sure it is just a disclaimer because people can do some silly stuff sometime. If I remember correctly they did not specify just chicken bones but bones in general. Chicken bones don't seem to hurt it (or even put it under strain) at all. I haven't tried it, but it may even do turkey bones since they are hollow as well. However I wouldn't try anything like a pork chop bone, or a t-bone steak bone. I believe that anything solid like that would likely jam it up, cause it to over heat, or worse.
Unfortunately I don't feed my dog any of that due to the high cost of it in my area. Turkey is the cheapest of the 3, and I can buy that already ground for almost the same cost as a whole turkey. Since all 3 have hollow bones, I would speculate that it wouldn't be much different then chicken. Turkey legs might be the toughest just because of the shear size. I pinned a comment on the video asking others to chime in. Hopefully others will comment and let us all know. Thanks for watching, and have a great day.
I hope you enjoy it. It has been a great grinder. No issues, and still have never had it jamb up. Though I have tried. For the money it is hard to beat, and been as reliable as a Rolex watch so far. Thanks for watching and have a great day.
We use chicken quarters (40%) beef (15%) pork (15%) beef liver or chicken gizzards (10%) and the remaining 20% is vegetables & fruit (normally a mixture of broccoli, strawberries, green beans, apples). The fruits and veggies we try to change up a little with every batch. We also put eggs in the mixture as well. In the beginning we had to do smaller batches to see what worked best for her. So a little experimenting may be necessary. I would like to do venison in place of the pork, beef, and even some of the chicken. However I haven't hunted the last couple of years. Hopefully I will get back to hunting next year and give that a try since it has a far less fat content then most other meats. Fish is also a great food source, but far to expensive to buy. I don't get out fishing as often as I would like. My best advise is to experiment and see what your dog likes. If your gonna spend the extra time and money on RAW diet, might as well give them what they enjoy.
@@DevaultFamilyLiving I appreciate it! My dog is getting older and picky with his food. Loved the video too. I was actually reviewing that grinder when I came across your video of it
Hi great video. How has the grinder held up so far? How many pound would you guess you put through it? I’m in the market for one for my dogs as well. Thanks
The grinder has been flawless to this point. I have yet to even get a single jamb. Everything has held up as it should. Even the cheap plastic plunger that they sent with it. It would be a complete guess on how many pounds of stuff I have ran through it, but I would say somewhere between 400 - 600 lbs. Most of that being "bone in" chicken quarters for my dog. Blades, and cutting plates are surprisingly still holding a good edge. Although I will likely sharpen them in the next 4-6 months. I can't expect them to stay sharp for ever, considering how many bones I put through it. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching and have a fantastic day. Happy Easter to you and your family as well. God Bless.
@@DevaultFamilyLiving thank you sir this helps a lot thanks for getting back to me and keep up the great work. Happy Easter to you and your family as well and god bless.
@@roycethomas4009 going good. I still have not ran any other animal bones through it. My dog has a pretty strict diet. We don't really change her food up to much so it isn't likely that I will be running anything through it but chicken anytime soon.
I can't personally say that I have done anything like pork bellies or bacon with a high fat content, and I could only guess that it would be no issue. Maybe someone else will chime in that has actually done something like that.
Costway seems to be a distributor not a manufacturer. The ( 1 ) yr. warranty is suspicious . In the Q&A the Rep states " we don't sell parts separately " ??? Please Comment
I believe that you are correct. They are likely just a distributer. There have been other comments stating that the same grinder has been available through other websites under another name. I can say that I have had no issues with mine, and have only seen one person on here say they weren't completely happy with it. I'm not affiliated with Costway. I'm just a guy that did a video on a grinder that has been a good product for me.
I have personally not done any turkey, but there are people on here that have. Considering they are hollow like a chicken bone, I would think there would be no issue, but maybe someone else will chime in that has actually run turkey through it.
I'm not sure where you would buy replacement parts for it. I would contact the seller. Yes it does grind chicken bones. That is what I was grinding in the video.
Jerry, they don't necessarily turn to "power" but they do break down into very small pieces. You can still feel them in the ground meat. You can still visually see them, they are just really small.
I have only done one turkey leg in it to see if it would do it and had no problems. I have heard of others that do them more often then myself and no one has ever said that they had any problems.
Unfortunately I did not get a chance to deer hunt this year, so obviously I didn't get a deer. I had so much going on, I could not break away. Maybe next season. I have used it quite a bit since that video, and it is a GREAT unit for the money. Still no problems (knock on wood), and I still have not been able to jam it up. For the price, I can't beat it. Love my English Bulldog. Probably my favorite dog of all the dogs that I have had. Thanks for watching, and have a fantastic day.
This grinder is from China. For the price it is hard to beat. It has been a stellar piece. Not sure of the price in the UK or even availability there, but hopefully you will find something that works for you.

The manual that came with mine did recommend using half-frozen meat. I didn't on my first batch today. My manual also recommended using bread to clean out the grinder, which worked well.

Great video! You convinced me. Got a German Shepherd puppy. Excited to get one of these Costway meat grinder.
It has been a great grinder for sure. I don't hesitate to recommend it. For the price, it has been fantastic.
Thank you! I have a 1HP Weston on the way. Wish I saw this earlier but I’m glad I know I got something that will grind through my dogs bone with ease.

It works great thank you!
Missed opportunity to go berserk with a giant meat cleaver before grinding. That's like 50% of the fun! Great video.
LOL. Yeah, pretty messy though. Thanks, and thanks for watching. Have a great day.
@dropfry Can you explain in more detail? Which part do you call the throat and are you talking about two different Vevor models?
@@btpuppy2 At 2:30 he calls it a "T tube" he mentions the quick release lever. There is another model that doesn't have that lever. It has bolts instead. If you aren't paying attention to it you might accidently buy that one and regret it.

Otherwise she just inhales it.

is this still working well for you? how often do you use it?
Use it about 6-10 times a year. It is still working great. Though I do need to sharpen the cutter plates and blades pretty soon.
Thank you for sharing. Do you think it would work for turkey bones?
@ deuvalt family living
After you finish grinding throw a few ice cubes in or a couple pieces of bread to push the rest of the meat through.
Thanks for watching, and have a great day.
thanks, we are looking for a grinder for raw. It's been a year since your vid. Is the unit still working properly?
Still works great. Not a single problem. Thank you for watching and have a great day.
Do you know is this grinder works on chicken feet?
I have not done chicken feet. I dont believe they would be a problem, but I can't say with 100% certainty. Our dogs usually get those as treats and eat them like a bone. Maybe someone else will chime in.
any updates? I see this video is from a year ago , how has it lasted? What types of bone have you run through it?
The grinder is still going strong. Not a single issue. Still have only done chicken bones at this time. I have heard of a few people running turkey and partridge through it as well.
I just want to ask if there were no bone splinters? thanks
Good luck
@@DevaultFamilyLiving Thank you so much for getting back to me. Any information helps in the search. I will definitely check out Vevor.
@@DevaultFamilyLiving Than you so much. I went to Vevor’s website. I don’t think I saw the same one, but I’ll go back and see what I can find.
I'm very impressed and think I wan to purchase this. I am trying to figure out how long ago you made this video and how the machine is holing up after multiple uses?
And why do you think the company says "Sorry the product can't grind chicken bone"
@@DevaultFamilyLiving That is such good new My huskies will be thanking you too in the language of their people OWWW_-WOO--WOOO!!! 😁
My dog is allergic to chicken and I need to use rabbit, quail, and turkey. Could you show how it handles these?
Unfortunately I don't feed my dog any of that due to the high cost of it in my area. Turkey is the cheapest of the 3, and I can buy that already ground for almost the same cost as a whole turkey.
Since all 3 have hollow bones, I would speculate that it wouldn't be much different then chicken. Turkey legs might be the toughest just because of the shear size.
I pinned a comment on the video asking others to chime in. Hopefully others will comment and let us all know. Thanks for watching, and have a great day.

What’s your dog food recipe? (If you don’t mind me asking). I’ve been researching recipes
I was actually reviewing that grinder when I came across your video of it
2 years later, is it still kicking butt?
It is.
Just curious if you happen to have an update on how this meat grinder is lasting for you?
Just ran another 60lbs of chicken through it 2 weeks ago. It is still working flawlessly. I could not be happier with it.
@@DevaultFamilyLiving how’s it going about now? And have you tried this with any other animal bones
@@roycethomas4009 going good. I still have not ran any other animal bones through it. My dog has a pretty strict diet. We don't really change her food up to much so it isn't likely that I will be running anything through it but chicken anytime soon.
I want one!
It has been a useful tool to have around.
Will this grind through pork with fat on it? I have a smaller grinder but it cant handle pork fat. Is this grinder good for that??
I can't personally say that I have done anything like pork bellies or bacon with a high fat content, and I could only guess that it would be no issue. Maybe someone else will chime in that has actually done something like that.
Not sure if you still receive comments and questions a year later but was wondering if you had ever tried turkey legs and wings?
Sorry I didn’t see a reply? Can you grind turkey wings and legs successfully?
I personally have not. However I have gotten emails from people mentioning that they have had no issue with turkey.
@@DevaultFamilyLiving thanks so much for your reply and for your very informative video… have a wonderful new year!
@@susanlee2584 Thank you very much for watching. You have a fantastic New Year as well.
So how is the grinder doing after a year later?
Still works great. Not a single issue. Although I have heard they have been out of stock for quite some time now which is a real bummer.
Have you tried using it for sausage stuffing?
I have not.
Weird question but do you know if you can put parts in the dishwasher?
I don't know the official answer but they are stainless steel so I don see why not.
Does it grind turkey bones as well as it does chicken bones?
I have personally not done any turkey, but there are people on here that have. Considering they are hollow like a chicken bone, I would think there would be no issue, but maybe someone else will chime in that has actually run turkey through it.
were can I get parts for the grinder and doest grind chicken bones ?
I'm not sure where you would buy replacement parts for it. I would contact the seller. Yes it does grind chicken bones. That is what I was grinding in the video.
I’m curious but what happens to the bones ? It turns to powder? It gets eaten can someone educate me ?
Jerry, they don't necessarily turn to "power" but they do break down into very small pieces. You can still feel them in the ground meat. You can still visually see them, they are just really small.
The only way to get them to feel like sand in the meat is to use the finest plate, finer than the ones that come with this grinder
How does it grind turkey legs?
I have only done one turkey leg in it to see if it would do it and had no problems. I have heard of others that do them more often then myself and no one has ever said that they had any problems.
Did you end up running deer through it? (bones and all)
Also I also have an english bulldog .Best dogs. Cheers !
Is eating the bone safe though?
For a dog, yes. As long as the bone is not cooked, it is perfectly okay. Cooking them is what causes them to get brittle and splinter.
Is it still working good?
Sure is. Not a single problem to report.

Not sure how much it would be there. Sorry
Possible grind turkey ?
Any good grinder not from Us? Im from Uk and looking good grinder for my dog. My old one is rubbish.
This grinder is from China. For the price it is hard to beat. It has been a stellar piece. Not sure of the price in the UK or even availability there, but hopefully you will find something that works for you.
dont you get bone shards?
I have never had any poultry bones shard after running through a grinder. To my knowledge, they only shard if they are brittle from being cooked.
How fine is the bone ground?
It is pretty fine. Majority of them 5mm or less. On occasion you see one bigger, but not to often in my experience.
@@DevaultFamilyLiving Awesome. Thanks!
Can this grind turkey necks?
@@ar.8899 Did you watch the video or read the comments?
@@ar.8899 I have never personally done turkey necks, but I would speculate that this grinder would have no trouble with them.
Still happy with it after 5 months?
Very happy. It has been a great purchase so far. Not one problem.
Still like it after 5 months?
Yes, I am very happy with it. Not a single issue so far.
Home Depot currently has this model for 264.00
