While Peter Qvortrup enjoys classical and jazz, he is known for spinning the latest dubstep and heavier stuff. The guy is a legend and extremely respected guy in the industry.
What drugs are you on ? I can't see anyone playing - it's a music playback system aka stereo, aka hi-fi, low-fi or mid -fi... Oh wait there's High End :-)
Loved this room 😁 yes there where better sounding rooms but peter is off his nut 🤣🤣🤣🤣 when I walked in jazz was playing so I asked for tool the smile on his face was priceless 😁 he played Astrix awake the snake and many others 😁 was in this room for just over 30 mins as it was nice to get away from the classical and jazz in other rooms 😂 this was the most fun room 😁 peter is a legend and I wish there where more like him 😁
Got to meet Jason tonight at Axpona, great guy. Jason I was the guy in the Avenged Sevenfold shirt asking about DAC's and the Bacch. I did get a chance to audition the Back and it was amazing, also got Avantgarde to play some Avanged, sounded great on horns.
And this is exactly why I always have a heavy metal track mentioned in my reviews. If a system can deal with that, it stands a good chance to be a good one!
What the cool thing about a full audio note UK system. It can play everything with soul, scale and life size dynamics. It really shouldn't be able to. It's a musical master system. It plays everything with the same easy and contrast.
agreed! this is a big/constant theme for me. A few rooms indulged my request for A Milli by Lil Wayne (uncensored!) at Montreal Audiofest and again at the Rockford Fosgate booth at the Toronto Motorcycle Show (in an open exhibition hall lol)
This room was great. Sounded amazing and loved that they played music people actually listen to. Hear rammstien in there it was great. Can’t believe it was 18watts
Wow - a show room where the track isn't a single piano note, followed by a pause....then another single piano note. (To demonstrate dynamic range and whatnot.) Also couldn't help but notice he didn't "Get those cables off the floor - Get those cables off the floor - Get those cables off the floor!"
I know the reason for this - it's made to order all around the world. The exchange rate changes daily and can be rather dramatically different from month to month. I am from Canada and when I moved to Hong Kong and got paid in Hong Kong dollars (and the HKD is tied to the USD) well I made X dollars a month in Septemeber - in January that year the CAD dropped 20% to the USD. So by January, I was effectively making 20% more money (as I was paid in HKD). So if you order your $10k AN amplifier in September by January that amp might need to be priced at $12k. Order it in May and it may be back down to $10k. For their lower level gear (level Zero, One and Two) there is usually a price list because they're not made to order and dealers hold stock of it. The problem is they make so so so many products and versions of things - they make 8 different versions of the OTO, SORO and Meishu Integrated amps. The dealer may stock one of the OTO or the SORO (probably not both) and the Meishu but then which version. Every other company makes maybe 2 integrated amps and offers it in two colours and that's it. Audio Note offers the I-Zero, Cobra , 8 OTOs, 8 SOROS, 6 Meishu Tonmeisters, and probably 6 Meishu Konzertmeisters, and 6 Kapellmeisters, the Jinro, Tomei, and Ongaku. And that's JUST integrated amps. Then all the preamps and various versions of each preamp and all the power amps which usually have 3 versions like Empress, Empress Silver, Empress Silver Signature. Their price list back in 2011 was over 200 pages. And that's for finished stuff - what about the components they sell to DIYers and competing manufacturers who buy their transformers? Eesh
I daresay there is not a good reason. This provides dynamics, imaging and let's the listener know how much distortion is in the setup. These are clean mixes, but if your system is lacking then it will sound muddy.
As someone interested in what equipment is chosen to sell product at an audiophile show, where I suppose the decisions would be more dollars and cents focused , than when a variety of music is selected , I was kind of surprised when only music was presented. here but I might have missed something, having skipped ahead until the scene shifted from the static one scene listen to music camera. . I assume these guys sell interconnects, from the signage mentioning conductors, but it wasn't very specific, some companies make everything in the room.
Audio Note UK make the entire system, from the speakers, amps, DAC, turntable, CD sources, to the cables and internal components (transformers, capacitors, resistors, speaker drivers, etc.) :)
The Acid Bath was okay, but the heavy metal Operatic bullshchiit was just that but for some reason it made me want to pull out a Uriah Heep Album, "The Magicians Birthday". I put that in the category with Andrea Bocelli and Shen Yun acrobatic ballet, whatever the hell it's supposed to be and that ilk of art and use the term art in its loosest form.
Last time I went to an Audio show Audio Note was playing what sounded like a vintage news broadcasting. I am like WTF kind of stupid s...t is this? This is not the kind of music I like but I can respect that you at least try and not give me some bs sound just for the sake of sound itself. Who the hell buys a $$$$$$ speaker to listen to news outlets idiots?
Sounds boxy. Audio Note with their selective tech. They spend a ton of time on some new driver tech, but their speakers measure horribly. 🤦♂️ Pardon but I don’t get it at all
I have very expensive system and I play all kinds of music. I would play this but I play at lower volume levels. Never understood higher volume levels. It hurts the details and a system will never sound good at levels that are high. Once you go low volume there is'no going back. It's so addicting
Most Audio Note owners are classical music listeners. Still, if you can sell to the 95% of customers who do not listen to classical you'd be crazy not to play "their music." You have to stay in business after all so if you can get classical and jazz listeners AND you can get rock and metal and pop listeners you have to try - especially if your system is capable of doing it all - I mean Quad sure as hell can't so they are forced to go after only classical and light jazz listeners are pretty low volumes.
This is what should be played all types of music
Some of the rooms took requests... got to love that.
And those speakers were awesome.
Audio note has been killing it on music at shows lately!!
Not hard to do really
👍 Audio Note proving dynamic capabilities in their gear. great.
I am hearing dynamic compression here
This old guy has some serious talent playing ! Bravo

Audio Note is a must to visit on any HiFi show. Their demo system sounds incredible. Heard a similar / same setup at Vienna 2023 show.
A great stereo can play basically anything and it should sound engaging and strike an emotional note within the listener
They show balls to play these tracks 😀
although not my favourite song, once again, i am glad to see real world music being played
I didn’t know Diana Krall did heavy!
Peter is the real thing. Noting to prove anymore. Old style class
I think this is the middle finger to the rest of the exhibitors. Well done.
Can you ask Val to play this track in the Acora room?
Loved this room 😁 yes there where better sounding rooms but peter is off his nut 🤣🤣🤣🤣 when I walked in jazz was playing so I asked for tool the smile on his face was priceless 😁 he played Astrix awake the snake and many others 😁 was in this room for just over 30 mins as it was nice to get away from the classical and jazz in other rooms 😂 this was the most fun room 😁 peter is a legend and I wish there where more like him 😁
No jazz music? Just kidding, system can deliver. The symphonic metal band is called Nightwish btw.
$8K speaker cables not required
Great video! Love the Box Furniture audio rack too! Just like the one I have.
Fkn Awesome.. AN-UK is serious kit... Peter Q and Daneil both know how to throw down. .. Good to see ya around. Hope to catch up again tomorrow..
Audio note always does the impossible
Damn, those drums sound good
Sounds amazing.
This is music to my ears. 🤘
Never would have gone near this room with this playing.
Got to meet Jason tonight at Axpona, great guy.

Gotta love Peter wiping the cd with his armpit.
And this is exactly why I always have a heavy metal track mentioned in my reviews. If a system can deal with that, it stands a good chance to be a good one!
Ha ha. He was playing some techno when I was in there and I recorded a 102 db peak on my phone!
We had 109 here... Same setup more or less
Well if you play this in other rooms it will quickly fall apart...
I would have liked to hear this metal on the 4 million dollar ESD system at the show this year. Would have been amazing.
What the cool thing about a full audio note UK system. It can play everything with soul, scale and life size dynamics. It really shouldn't be able to. It's a musical master system. It plays everything with the same easy and contrast.
Rocking!! :D
Finally a good tune. Not some dumb jazz or orchestral boring music.
or Diana f**king Krall 😁
agreed! this is a big/constant theme for me. A few rooms indulged my request for A Milli by Lil Wayne (uncensored!) at Montreal Audiofest and again at the Rockford Fosgate booth at the Toronto Motorcycle Show (in an open exhibition hall lol)
Unlistenable stuff to my ears.
This room was great. Sounded amazing and loved that they played music people actually listen to. Hear rammstien in there it was great. Can’t believe it was 18watts
Bello/Magnifico.😱😱😱😱😱😱🧨🌡️👑
I like the shape of the room very interesting.
What Audio Note gear is used here?
🤘 HORNS UP!
Wow - a show room where the track isn't a single piano note, followed by a pause....then another single piano note.
(To demonstrate dynamic range and whatnot.)
Also couldn't help but notice he didn't "Get those cables off the floor - Get those cables off the floor - Get those cables off the floor!"
Jason. You need to broaden your streaming. Nightwish is amazing!
FINALLY! A decent song at an audio show. Was that hard?!
Are those new field coil speakers ?
Just wish AN would list their prices....everything is poa...even their approved retailers won't list prices

Spice of life
It certainly reproduces distortion well.
We need more diversity of music styles in these shows for sure.
👍👍👍👍👍
Glad you enjoyed it. There is good reason why this is not played at a show.
I daresay there is not a good reason. This provides dynamics, imaging and let's the listener know how much distortion is in the setup. These are clean mixes, but if your system is lacking then it will sound muddy.
Whats the reason?
That reason is because it is extremely hard to do well.
Why not?
Nice mid bass - that's what is needed for metal music
I went in here for some metal, and it was fun for a minute, but I didn't think the speakers were right for it.
Prong would sound good
Is this a new Steely Dan song? I never heard this one before... 😬
Drowning Pool - Let the bodies hit the floor.
Nightwish - Planet Hell
No, its an unreleased Dire Straits track.

How are they getting away with positioning the speakers so far into the corners?…
directivy of the speakers enables such positioning, which is good.
They are designed that way.
speakers are designed to do just that - they couple to the wall so to speak and go very low in FR
Peter Snell was the original designer
Nightwish
Do they ever play real Metal at these shows ?
That is more like pop music comparatively.
The new Vorga album would be cool.
You could not drag me into that room to listen to the first track and I like Peter hugely and love Audio Note
That's brainwashing lol
I won’t play music I don’t like just to hear the fidelity.
you hear the same in the others. Waste of money😂
Fantastic!! Cool !! Regular hardrock played now and then in every normal household - why not show it off on a hifi-show… Just Awesome !! / Jk
Not with Floor Jansen... (our Viking Goddess who can sing just about ANYTHING!) 😊
noise

What a waste of quality electronics on this horrible screeching. That is NOT music. TOTAL waste!!!
