Just the clip inside the handle brakes but it makes the part useless. You can buy brand new ones on eBay or Amazon

Careful dealin with the metal hook. Sucker is detachable, pain in the ass re-attaching it cause it's all feel.

so what if the door closed on you how do you open it

You'll have to take a portion of your door panel off and pull the second metal lead. If that doesn't work try reaching back towards the door latch and see if the handle wire isn't blocking you from pulling the metal lead. Hope this helps a little
