For those who think this is the worst movie about Kurt Cobain...This movie is pure art. It doesn‘t depend on any backstory, it‘s just the mindset that is portrayed perfectly in this gem of movie.
@@nonameman7114 Weird enough, Matt Reeves said he said the Bruce Wayne in his Batman film was based off of Kurt Cobain and I enjoyed that angle and got severe vibes from Robert's performance (ex: the breakfast scene, the look of Bruce and how his trauma withered him to such a husk). Maybe Robert Pattinson would work as Kurt Cobain in a biopic.
@@wiinterflowers95 well that makes sense as well as using something in the way. Especially considering how dark and gritty Gotham is supposed to be, at least in some comics, I enjoyed the movie.
Brilliant film. Absolutely brilliant. A true testament to an actual depiction of total mental decline. It healed me in the darkest of days. Too real is scary, I think that was the problem. That, and society hates a good character study - it automatically means arthouse, which is the death of a cult classic.
Not Cobains song but still deep and emotional. When am down and waiting meds to kick in I play this on the guitar in my music room for inspiration. RIP Kurt, miss you :{
I taught a 16 year old kid wanting to learn the guitar this riff today. I told him it’s easy to learn but all the variations in picking the notes and strumming the song is so much fun and it’s a great sounding song. I told him I remember renting this movie when I was younger at a video store and then played him this scene. I said it was probably my favorite scene from the movie. Hope he thinks the same years from now.
Been at the theater to watch it. Feel kinda sad. Can't stop thinking about Kurt all along. Michael Pitt did a wonderful job. Really amazing piece. So close to the reality of life.
Michael Pitt’s performance is haunting and I’ve been watching it regularly for 11 years now, damn. I love Last Days, all of Gus Van Sant’s work, it’s not for everyone. I’m a huge Nirvana fan too but it was never meant to be biographical, it’s just an artistic interpretation of what someone like Kurt’s last days may have looked like.
Despite what Indigo Moon says, I absolutely love this movie. Little action takes place, but it captures a tortured soul so well, a person so worn and tired, used by others constantly, that one can't help but absolutely feel for him. I see why some don't like it; the first time I watched it, It didn't impress me. It's just so beautiful and tragic, though, really giving one insight into his emotion. If you don't mind a slow movie that focuses on a depressed man's last days, you should watch it.
The way he just floats through life in a daze of drugs, surrounded by users, hangers on, and sycophants is heartbreaking. He's also extremely depressed and bored but the music scenes show the genius within.
I had no idea that Michael Pitt is musically talented until a couple of years ago! How did I miss this movie and his band?. Well, I know now. RIP kurt Cobain.
what a fucking shame !he was such a sweet guy and VERY TALENTED ! its so sucky to feel like dying and feel like you cant take anymore I know EXCACTLY how he felt! It sucks being addicted and NOTHING can make you feel better ive been on several meds and they work for a little while .I WISH they would make a safe happy drug so people don't have to be depressed and take fucking bad drugs to help !he was so goodlooking and a sweetheart he is missed badly !
Amazing acting. Im sure Michael pitt got some good insight from those that new kurt as his father was good friends with Chris Cornell and others who were in that scene. But someone who was brought up like Michael could only imitate someone like kurts pain. It is hard to describe what it is like to come from dysfunction and have even your own parents reject you in your teen years. I know from personal experience. But great job Michael.
Loved this movie..Not enough talking for yas or action?? This was shot.perfect and anyone whose an addict can appreciate this movie even more..Great flick/.
I realized watching it a second time that there are many brilliant moments in the mundane. My takeaway was oddly enough Boys to Men vid. Bended knee comes up twice. Once with BTM vid where everyone is praying to God, and then Velvet Underground "down on your bended knee" with goofballs all stoned and dancing around. Metaphorically, this dude is in purgatory and just wants release but neither side will let him go.

the movie wasn't good in a conventional way, but it was so real. If you know what its like to have a habit you can appreciate it even though it drags on at some points. I love Michael Pitt too, he was great as Kurt
+Tony Bones I can see where you're coming from, Van Sant's movies usually are VERY slow-moving. In terms of dragging on, Elephant took the cake, which is why I didn't care for it.
They should of shown where kurt gets home from rehab and tells courtney loves using friends he was home and not to worry. I know it is just a take on what happened but would of been worth putting in.
I`m a HUGE Nirvana too,I mean obsessed is putting it mildly and I honstly could hardly keep watching the movie "Last Days" until the end it was so boring. Favorite lyrics of the song
He sounds a lot like Kurt Cobain. I always tear up when I hear this. For some reason I feel like Kurt Cobain would sing the same lyrics.
Tellement forte cette scène, pleine de solitude et de mal être qui ont conduit au pire

Thanks !!
But the tune is flat. The chords: Abm, Eb, E, Gb

I had no idea who Michael Pitt or Pagoda was until I seen this movie. Now Pagoda is one of my favorite bands. Wish the Rebirth album would come out

They really nail Cobain’s sound here.

To many songs like nirvana that band has. But this was a great song for the movie it sounds like cobain could of wrote this.
