Everyone misses the Maclunkey bar. When A new hope was remade, Greedo says "Maclunkey" to Han before he shoots, in Huttese it translates to "This is the end of you". Luke flips that into Yoda's speech pattern when he says "Of you the end this is", then Yoda says Maclunkey! Its a very deep lore based bar and in my opinion, one of the best bars in the battle.

Most people miss the “fantastic on these beats” being a play on Fantastic Beasts, but I agree the third verse was Harry’s weakest, but he won the previous 2 for me. Luke’s third wasn’t that great to me either, except the Bellatrix dead Sirius line 😂 Harry won this handily for me.

Bellatrix dead Sirius was the hardest disrespect of all in that ERB.
You remember saying that Harry's last verse wasn't as good? Well to be fair, Luke did say that he "left all his fire in the Goblet", which basically meant that Harry used all his hard hitters and had nothing left. Luke had that slow build to those great last verses. Oh, I don't know if you missed it or not, but when he said "I'm a rhyming Jedi like my father before me", it's a reference to the 3 Hitler vs. Vader ERB's, sort of an ERB inside joke.

Harry crushed it, whoever wrote these rhymes is more familiar with the HP universe than SW, given the amount of crazy references Harry drops

Harry won, but after watching more and more reactions I just realized one of the lines from Luke was hella disrespectful, he says "I'm Bellatrix dead serious." Like bro why you got to bring up Bellatrix killing Harry's last family member like that.
Harry won the whole battle with one line in his second round, like he could have stayed silent and let the beat roll staring into Luke's soul and let him wail on him with every line he previously dropped. Then just with the last 5 seconds of the last round delivered the absolute nuclear bomb of "At least when I slytherin a sister she isn't mine." and still won.

I honestly believe you didn't give enough credit to how savage the comparison bars were. He basically systematically broke down how Harry is a biter. That's real fighting words where I come from.
I disagree on one thing. Harries second verse was the strongest. His first was great opener but the second one was straight fire. HP won though. Hands down no contest.

If you don't know Sirius black is Harry's God father and he died I don't know if this true but the name of the the guy that killed him is Bellatrix or is that gal? I don't know I don't watch Harry Potter but I read it somewhere. So when Luke says "I'm Bellatrix dead Sirius" he is being disrespectful about the death of Harry's God father a hidden bar that easily go over your head unless you really know Harry's lore and read the subtitles because when I read it I don't get why it is spelled like that

In the end of that round here says " I rather herd nerfs then to endure your third verse" that's a fire rebuttal he's saying that he rather be nerfed then endure Harry's 3 round which I say is quite lacking out off all that there only 1 punch a Lot of smack talking compared to Luke's 3 round which had more punch

When I watch the first time I agree Harry won but when I watch it again and again and again and again I started to see the depth of Luke's rounds so I'm saying it's a tie

I don't really know much on the mechanics of rap battles; but I thought Luke was just jabbing and feeling out the opponent in the first round then started swinging in 2 and 3.
1st bout i can say its a Harry Win with a diference (because of both have their own type....harry runs serious for disrespect, and luke runs for jokin about harry's history being a ripoff), but about the 2nd and 3rd bout its definetly for Luke (even Harry still keep in the disrespect mode....Luke make both of those: Flow and Disrespect)...soo Luke wins this round.

I don't know if you caught it or not but at the start when luke said that he was a rhyming jedi like his father before him it was a reference to the early ERB episodes Darth Vader vs Adolf Hitler.
When luke said he has the cooler stick it also sounds like he says "I have the cooler shtick." So a double meaning
And when Yoda said Maclunky that's a reference to the alien who got shot between it and han solo.
Harry still wins in my opinion but I just wanted to throw this out there just in case.

Gotta disagree. First round was dead even. Luke's "bullet-proof vest" line was one of the top 10 coldest in ERB history, and way too many people sleep on "Bellatrix dead Sirius", basically rubbing Harry's face in how he watched his godfather die.

I think it's a tie let me tell you why
In Harry's first verse he started by with a couple of good rhyming and references and a couple of light punches like and then pointing out that people only like 2 star wars movies out of 9 movies overall, he then being disrespectful about Luke's uncle and aunt death oh and don't forget about how Harry poke fun at Mark Hamill acting and a good R2D2 reference.
Luke's first verse started by saying he isn't affected by all the disrespect he got and telling him how Harry have mad a mistake by battling him, and then he make reference how both him and his father both is in erb and put a griffindor play on word and then he go ahead and tell that Harry's back story is copying his backstory and then he go ahead and make a comparison on the stage that would sting hard. And then Harry make a couple of reference on why he is better like he got the cooler "schtick" than Harry, he fly a space fighter that can go to space while Harry flies on a broom and he end it by being disrespectful about the death of Harry's mom and a bonus by saying that all that look up to Harry are looking up to a fraud
First round is a tie. Because I think both had good reference and plenty disrespect
Second round begin Harry rebuttal Luke's mom bar and then he punched back with a good old "no u" he then tell the crowd about how Luke tried to lay his own sister but I don't know if that hit because he didn't know at the time. And then Harry talk about how his books had many sales and made fun of how divided Star Wars fan base is. He then go ahead to brag about how he made his creator rich and how Luke let his made him trash. And then he make a reference about his hand scar and end it with how Luke's 1st verse didn't affect him like he made another no u
Luke's second verse started when he and R2D2 saying that Harry got no fire and then made fun of how Harry almost always being saved by Dobby. He then go ahead and tell how he is cooler with many references and how Harry couldn't win this battle against him. He then tell Harry about his accomplishments like taking Down the empire and blowing up the death star and compare that with how Harry blow up his own aunt. He then tell Harry that he isn't as cool as him and he didn't "feel" Harry's greatness and then he said that Harry would have died a long time ago if Hermione and a lot of luck didn't save his ass and then then he said Harry's own skill suck and then he said that he rather be nerfed by his owner then hearing Harry's 3rd verse and if you don't realize is a rebuttal

And last verse Harry started by saying that Luke raps isn't cool and he said that C3P0 might be the one who shoe him the "protocol" of rapping he then be disrespectful about how Luke's trying to do and be everything and how he doing everything but that cause he got his hands full and then made fun of his robot arm. Harry than says that he got allies and friends that got his back and then his friends decided to help Harry in this verse and in the end Harry made a lot of references but he didn't punch much
Luke's last verse started by saying that Harry should make hagrid take him to run and says that Harry wizarding skills isn't cool and he rather watch wizards of the Beverly place starring Selina Gomez. Then he said that his skills are better and then make fun of his scar with a play on words. He then says that Harry's mind control spell is stolen from Luke's Jedi mind trick and then he made a subtle reference about Harry's God father's death Sirius Black who is killed by Bellatrix and don't forget about how he said that he learned his words from yoda who is one of the most powerful Jedi and then in the end like drop the mic

The whole "you stole my backstory" thing by Luke actually cost him a lot of points as far as I am concerned. It is not his - "the heroes journey" predates Starwars by many centuries. I did really like the flowchange though.
Luke won the first round, he straight up called him an inferior copycat and spelled it out in detail. Harry edged the second, but was undermined by the Wingardium levio-suck section, Luke wins the third. Victory for Skywalker.
Actually, that "copycat" claim singlehandedly lost Luke the first round, because he spent about half of the round on the claim, yet he failed to mention any similarity beyond the most common tropes. That time could have been easily spent on something relevant.
I mean, being an orphan, seriously? And then finding out he's not actually unimportant... Of course he isn't, there would be no story otherwise!! How many stories about common, relatable orphans make the main character ACTUALLY be an unimportant orphan?? You can count those with fingers on one hand!

Luke could've done so much more, working out the dropout thing 'cause when dumbledore died Harry flew off. Luke had to defuse a lot before packing a few punches, but one of the harder ones was about Harry's mother and it got flipped and served back with a punch. Or when Harry brought the authors, there WAS something to use given how J.K.R. behaves. Too much opportunities missed and too much defense : the hardest loss for Luke for not jumping in at the occasion.
Plus, the "you robbed me" part is illigitimate : all teenagers stories worked with this plot, like it is a genre's tropes. points loosed on those imo, doubly so because it's a long time he could've used for actual punches.

Take any for-teenager fantasy/semi sci-fi entertainment (book, film, series) made from the 80s up to 2000 at least. at least half, probably more like 3/4 of them work with what was told here. Because those are just tropes. Everyone uses them.
The actual savage line was the bullet-proof mother one, and it will stay strong, but even then Harry just ... flipped it, with an added "you ugly" punch, then jabbed outright with the "family business".
Luke was impressive but he tried to play chill a bit too much. We can only glimpse what he could do with the second and third verses, but it comes far too late to compete with Harry's non-stop disses.
