Really enjoyed you vid. I wonder if this has any of the other benefits of the Sieko Tuna. How robust is the movement I wonder. Also I like that the bezel is higher than the hardlux. That sort of protection really works well

That’s a good question - I suspect it is not as tough as the high end quartz movements in the Marine Masters, but Seiko hasn’t detailed this much...

Bought one last saturday. Stopped working Sunday morning. Took it back to the store to have another one from another store shipped in to swap. Still waiting. Wears nicely on my wrist. I also have the Prospex MarineMaster Tuna 300m love that watch. Great beaters. Disappointed at the Seiko for crashing so quickly. The lume is slightly better in the Tuna, less complicated as it does not have all the other digital features. Day date, month hear are easily set and nice to have.

I got this in 2021. It has been on my wrist for much of that time. I don’t wear suits but I do wear blazers and khakis and it works fine. I’m getting kind of tired of watch ADHD and have put all my other watches away. I would be fine if I just had this one.

When I joined the navy in 87, my family bought me an original H558 to deploy. When I retired, my wife and son bought me a classic Skx. They bought me the newest version of the Arnie SNJ027 with Pepsi dial, so I can retire the original Arnie.

Good review as always, but not impressed with the watch for the price. If I was looking for a solar quartz diver for a lot less money it would be one of the Citizen Promaster range. Think they do an Aqualand series although I don't know if they are solar. As always just personal choice and if you are a big fan of the original (or Arnold) no doubt you would have more interest in this one

@@PerthWAtch Well im not really looking for a quartz diver at the moment (not looking for any watch at the moment tbh) but if I was after a quick look I'd say a simple classic BN0191-80L. I do think Citizen is Seiko's lesser known and lesser desirable cousin. Which I do think is undeserved. I've had plenty of both automatic and quartz Seiko's and Citizens and on the whole id say Citizen make equally as good (if not better) than Seiko, and are usually more affordable

A 40mm bezel diameter is way smaller than what I had expected!

One thing about the "get to the choppa" scene that I can never get over is, He's telling a known enemy soldier to get to a helicopter that will be there to pick up the team. Ain't no way that helicopter crew is already there, landed and waiting. Additionally, they aren't gonna land at the LZ unless the LZ has been secured by the team. She will get to an empty space in the jungle, the chopper will come in, see the team is not there and then fly off.

I have already looked at dozens of reviews of this watch (and its different variations) and always an important detail is forgotten and yet this detail is explained in the manual (RTFM makes sense here)
This detail is that the LCD screen will die its beautiful death after 7 years
It is also written that it can be replaced but at the expense of the owner with Seiko
Planned abscolecence? I don't know the answer
Anyway, I have this watch (the Pepsi PADI) and am very happy with it.

hello Ivan, how are you, mate? ARNIE???!!!!! Arnie vs Sly My two favorite action stars of 80s and 90s!!!!!
As for the watch, it isn't my style, but it certainly is an unique and interesting watch. Watches like this, of course, I can not really comment what to change, what they are doing wrong...etc because it is kind of historical pc (if you can call it that, ha ha). You really have to like it as it is because actually you are paying $100 to $150 extra for this "Arnie" version.
there is Seiko Prospex Solar Tuna Padi at much less pricing with "better" color design (IMO). If I had to pick one up, I rather go with Tuna Padi.
Still I see some UA-cam vids on Arnie, pumping irons! Amazing and incredible how and what he has achieved in various stages in his life. Inspiration to immigrants, specially 1st generation. (THAT would be me, ha ha)

Blue numeral indices and green minute hand and green pip sorry for the sub comment but a solid watch. I have heard some watch snobbery about how it is no kind of luxury watch; my argument is this , a well thought out movement, heirloom build quality, but most importantly a luxury is something that you don’t need, like this dive watch out of others, but purchase anyway and this watch fits the bill. There are also cheaper watches that fit that bill but this was brought out as a novelty and anyone that will drop 500 bux on a novelty , that itself makes it a luxury item. There are 200000 dollar cars that don’t run as well or last as long as this

    • @PerthWAtch

Just keep up the maintenance and it should go for ever people are wearing ones that are almost 40 years old today. Oh I see. That’s not the “lugs”… it’s the screw collars for the buttons. Look up a picture to understand what lugs are on a watch.
