Nice to see Phil, one of my heroes. Alan's bike is unbelievable it picks up revs so quickly with its short stroke. A real one must be fantastic

I remember seeing Phil Read racing against Bill Ivy, John Cooper, Hailwood and Agostini at Brands Hatch in the 60's. Alan Millyard is an engineering genius. Cheers from Australia.

We’re you there when Ago fell off at Paddock Bend, the cheer was pretty loud. I joined in!!!!

Not sure if I was at that meeting, but I remember a meeting that was called the Hutchinson 100. Brands ran this meeting anti clockwise, and Hailwood was definitely there on the Honda 297cc 6 cylinder. I can still remember seeing him coming up paddock hill the wrong way round. Also, Helmut Fath’s sidecar coming up paddock hill almost sideways on. Amazing days ......

@@classicraceruk1337 Don't recall that incident so I might not have been there. A bunch of us used to ride down from Woking on a variety of different bikes. Always a great day out.

@@payres48 might have been a different day. Hailwood blew them all away on his 297cc 6, that thing was loud. I lived a bit closer to Brands in Orpington back in the 50’s and 60’s so Johnson’s near Brands and the Salt Box near Biggin were our hangouts.

@@classicraceruk1337 Yeah used to go to Biggin too. Great scrambles circuit. Sometimes Aldershot as well. Also went to Wimbledon to the speedway on a Thursday night. Barry Briggs, Peter Craven, Ivor Mauger, Nigel Boocock, Olle Nygren and Ove Fundin. All great riders. The smell of Castrol R. What days they were.

Millyard's creations are truly exceptional. Those Hondas sound like the real deal.
Race of the year 1964 at Mallory Park. In the paddock I stood close behind Mike Hailwood's Honda 6 when his mechanic fired it up. That was a big mistake. The air vibrated as he blipped the throttle so that the air in my lungs, the flesh around my rib cage all started vibrating at different frequencies. I moved away sharpish for fear my flesh and bones would become separated and detached. Another incident in the paddock that day. World Champion Luigi Taveri rode over my foot on his works 125. Love the sound of those MVs ( Ago in the saddle ) and Hondas I heard that day.
Minter and Hartle on the aged Gilera 4s were there too. Probably the most memorable Motor Racing event I ever attended. Move on a decade and me and my biker mates attended the F1 Spanish Grand Prix at Jarama in Spain. Sitting in the waiting area for our flight back to the UK, my friend sitting alongside me nudged my arm and as I looked up from reading a copy of Motor Sport, my friend nodded in the direction acroos the other side of the waiting area, There sat on the seats were two of my all time Heroes, Ronnie Petersen and Mike Hailwood. Sadly taken from us all too early. They travelled back on the same plane as our little party of enthusiasts. Great memories.

£2.5mill for a real one £1/2mill for a replica, I bet Allens rep would go for a bit more as his engineering skills are in another league and some.

Crikey, very mature audience, was no one under 40 yrs old allowed in, or is no one under 40 interested?
