  • Welcome to this special episode of the MoreBikes Podcast. Today we would like to present to you an exclusive interview with the genius engineer Allen Millyard.
Millyard is behind some of the wackiest bike creations, including his award-winning ‘Flying Millyard’, which is powered by a gigantic, 5.0-litre V-twin engine designed for an aeroplane. It resembles a two-wheeled Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and was magically created in his modest suburban garage in Berkshire.
The following was an exclusive interview which took place at the Carole Nash Motorcycle Mechanics Show at the Stafford County Showground. Resident compere and racing star, Steve Plater, conducted the interview.

he is not entertaining .. after a while i realised he is slow witted and drags things out unless he has learned a script. Also he is posh. Nothing wrong with being posh, but he hides it by droppings his t's g's and other speech patterns and is annoyingly patronising to the lower orders . He is a big fish in a very small pond. I'm sure he is good company but he is not suited for making top quality programmes.
Steve Berry was entertaining but he seemed to have vanished

@AC2505 Hear, hear. I am a big fan of Henry Cole and as a result of that it led me to Allen and his work. So I always appreciate loyalty in others and like it or not, Allen's work with Henry has increased his fan base.

I agree. The motorbike show is lively, engaging and great entertainment. For those who run Henery down, could it be a question of The Green-eyed monster doth mock? You can tell Henry and Allen get on well. Oh dear, negativity knows no bounds. No Henry Cole, no motorbike show. Get it!

Great interview. A machinist apprenticeship, love for it, and high mechanical IQ. Add a good lathe, milling machine, Tig Welder, a modest shop, and a few good files. Along with a love for motorcycles, and there, you have it folks, the basis of the genius of Mr. Allen Millyard.
