The crazy part is this tank is 10x better in person. You could stare at it for hours. Can't wait to see what you guys do with the monster tanks in the back!
Really glad I got to see this tank a little over a month ago before all the trimming comes, it looks good on video but it looks even better in person, it’s also much bigger in person. I have began planning a lagoon tank like this for my sunroom, hoping to harvest the light of the sun and mainly have fish and some cheaper, fast growing corals. Not nearly as big as this. Maybe in the 300-400 gallon range
It's the star on the Mangrove which really makes this work :) Such an incredible tank. I'm glad you still kept some monit cap's after taking so many out, still a beautiful coral. And the size of some of those colonies are really getting impressive. Your mika stylo colony keeps catching my eye. Just a beautful tank.
Your absolutely right we need to do better!! But I'm thinking the point was missed it's not a problem having to many frags in fact that is the root of our livelihood. However if we make too many of one type at a time it disrupts the flow of variety and limits the selection at any point in time. Commercial farming is not the same as making frags from one or two display tanks. But your point is well noted we need to try harder to produce a better quality product.
The last time we measured par in this tank I think the lowest corners were 50 and the highest points in the middle if my memory serves correctly was less than 175
That's amazing growth on the coral in that tank at what alot of people would consider low par. Makes me think that spread and even lighting throughout an aquarium is more important than high par! 🤔
I'm curious what the issue is with the sump that you want to remove it. Is it just a necessity to integrate the HydroTubes? Also, regarding the mangrove pests, I wonder if you could use diatomaceous earth to dust the leaves. It should be reef safe since people used to use diatom filters.
I'm sure diatom powder is relatively inert. But breaking off branches is super easy. The sump is huge and taking up space that we need. And I I want to test my theories. I feel like it's unnecessary.

This is true but we are also taking far less from the reefs and I think sustainably speaking this is a far better alternative. Our objective is to produce a better quality frag, you aren't wrong at all.
The blue photo period point intensities are at 100% I think the white photoperiod point intensity is somewhere around 65%. but the white channels along with the red and green run all run at 25% or under to achieve this color blend. So it's really not all that bright.
@@jdearel1 that's amazing really, it shows we run our lights too high. And that they can do well with a lot less light. I run my xr15 g5 blue at 65% ab+ for 5 hours then all blue at 75% point intensity on my little 40 gallon that's only 8 inches away from the water surface.
We don't ever want to get rid of coraline it Is a very desired component in our tanks, and rarely poses a problem. The tank is loaded down with so much microfauna that it would not make any sense to do so. The macropharyngdon wrasses have big fat bellies that is a good enough gauge for us.
For the refugium, we just don't use them in our model. The furthest we go in that direction is the big mangrove in this tank, that should count for something.
They all have 5" perimeter braces made it of .75" glass. They are also layered with a 3" perimeter brace under that. And they are only 30" tall, they feel like they are built like a bomb shelter.
This tang for it's majority of time with us swam back and forth hugging the glass front panel on our 293. It was some sort of stress action. It irritated it's eye for years with no aggression from the other fish. It never entirely healed after 4 years now in this tank.
This tank has been my inspiration since the start of my shallow reef tank journey, truly fascinating to see! INCREDIBLE! 🔥
than you so much for the continued support!

You can get lost just looking at every little thing in the system, It really is amazing!
You guys are freaking amazing!! See you in the morning for more product
such an awesome tank. The christmas lights on the mangrove are hilarious! Can't wait to see how this progresses.
lol Thank you and yes it was a late addition our team thought of.
Thank you guys for all the video content over the past year. It's been fun to watch.
Thank you so much for taking the time to watch!

Josh always reminds me of someone and I can’t ever put my finger on it but I got it! Josh is the sean strickland of the reefing world! ✅💪
He has been getting Kratos a bunch
This tank is absolutely epic. And the mangrove is dope ♥️
Great video. Thanks for the update.

You are most welcome and thank you for watching!
wow only 725 likes? crazy this tank is amazing! these guys sure do know how to grow coral!
Have not been to the store in like 3 years and wow has this tank changed. It looks amazing. Hope to get back to the store and see it in person again.
We can not wait for you to see the change in person!

Keep a eye out on the series Josh has going on!
Thx WWC, beautiful
Casper at 1:03! Love WWC!
Loooooooove it! And loving the Holy Grail Hammer I got from yall. 🤌💯✌️🔥
I have INCREDIBLE growth with LEDs!!
I have 7 xr30 pros over my 300 gallon glass cages reef tank and I wouldn't change a thing. 🔥
Wow that's a lot of lite.
Looks amazing! I bet Panda is a Scopas tang, white scalpel and short nose :)
Hydrotubes are awesome! I have two of them on my new tank!
looking good🐠🔥🔥👍
Thank you!
Or hear me out... You could sell frags at a bigger size then a finger nail and you wouldn't have so many frags to sell.

Lol exactly and drop the price considering you get then for 10 times the price of selling
Do you measures the par on the acros ,i thinks that info could be very good and surprised too.
I agree 100%! I was thinking the same thing!

Atlantic Blue Tang, is my vote for an aggressive tang. Why not do a reef surge. It’s awesome for random flow.
Would be super cool if you could do a top down live feed of this tank.
❤
how are you getting coraline algae to grow on the sand??? whats the additive for this?

Im using smatpharm led from amazon growing acros in mixed reef no problem
Considering the height of the LED light I’m curious what the PAR at the bottom and near the top of the aquarium
The last time we measured par in this tank I think the lowest corners were 50 and the highest points in the middle if my memory serves correctly was less than 175
Happy new year and thanks for the reply - i didn't know that montipora and acro can grow well without being blasted with high PAR

@wwc @7:27 Goni is 🔥
So what should a person look at first who's tank is struggling to grow coral if not the light?
Just when you think you don't have enough par
4:00 but frags now adays(or over the decades) have been getting smaller and smaller
This is true but we are also taking far less from the reefs and I think sustainably speaking this is a far better alternative. Our objective is to produce a better quality frag, you aren't wrong at all.
I hope they ate not fireworks when you walk inside😁
Do you run all those lights at 100% intensity?

Why don't you put in a couple types of sea urchins to eat some of the coraline algae.. and while you are at it some copapods and amoapapods too
Also ewhat about an algae refugium for the build out make that a display too?

Would like to duplicate this in my basement.
Maybe WWC will help me and promote it and prove it can be done!
Anything is possible
can someone tell me what goni that is at 7:25? Thanks
We call that Hollywood dreams
thank you Josh@@jdearel1
Image stepping on a bristle worm😅
I don't get how your guys 750 gallon tanks don't have cross braces😮
They all have 5" perimeter braces made it of .75" glass. They are also layered with a 3" perimeter brace under that. And they are only 30" tall, they feel like they are built like a bomb shelter.
Just make the frags a little chunkier
Looks like there's something wrong with the Naso Tang's Eye. :(

Is that cyano on the sand?
It's coraline on the larger pieces of substrate
I think making it into an AIO is a huge mistake given the bioload.
