I hope the media takes responsibility for there part in this mess .. the locker room needs to be closed to the media .. let the players work it out without the media throw there opinion and nonsense into it looking for a story…. I think the Vancouver media is a cancer in itself

I love how when management is interviewed now they say " We may have over excelled last season" just to cover their asses for how poorly their playing this year, what a cop out Rutherford!

In case anyone hadn’t noticed, playoff hockey is Tocchet hockey and thank God for that as that is when we see hockey that actually matters. I, as a longtime fan, would at the very least like to see a team that competes each and every game to get there. I want players who compete each and every game and who are not bigger than the TEAM and who do not complain about the market being too difficult to play for.

The disfunction and lack of consistent effort has been evident during the entire era of this core group. It cost Travis Green and Bruce Boudreau their jobs. To suggest that it is a failing of Rick Tocchet’s that he has been unable to solve this problem seems unfair. It’s time for management to identify exactly where the problem lies (obviously, not with Hughes or Demko) and to make significant changes to the core of this team if they ever hope to be a true contender.

Given how streaky the Canucks have been this season, I see them as having a 50-50 chance to see playoff action in April. Various issues with this roster don’t give me a lot of confidence the Canucks will win a playoff series if they qualify.

I'd want JT .. but he had problems with teammates allot . If he is toxic, he has to go .

Is ‘Tocchet’s System’ where high powered creative offence goes to die?
If the 5 top scorers all go quiet at the same time, that is on the coach.
The best coaches find ways to adapt and get the best out of their players.

I have been aware of many animosity issues between players on the same team. I have even been involved in a couple but never did I or any nemesis fail to compete or work together for the good of the team. Never have I seen a player take a leave of absence due to emotions. Any of you hear the Shanny/ Janney situation years back? Good program BTW.

I’m starting to think it wasn’t a “leave of absence”, and more so a team suspension that was called a leave of absence so it didn’t look as bad for Miller so maybe there is still some trade value there. I know Petey is a bit on the softer side personality wise, but I’m starting to think it’s coming down to Miller being a toxic person/teammate. If the team has to make a decision, I hope it’s to keep Petey and trade Miller at this point. Clearly EP40 is better off without him…. And the rest of the team might be too 🤷🏻‍♂️

Miller is the only player in the NHL that I've seen that is constantly talking before every faceoff with anyone around. I think the guy has a screw loose to say the least. Look at his eyes...he looks nuts!

Pettersson is making top star money. Still stapled to the second line. Lotto line not reunited no matter what the situation is. A blockbuster seems likely.

Merry X'mas JT and Petey! Please exchange presents and make up for the better of the team. You don't need Santa to kick one of you off the sled.

I know if i didn't learn to get along with hard to manage employees i'd be toast, and yet these over paid babies that don't give a damn about winning the cup and only about money can do what they want because they have the best union in the world......Pathetic !

Have a feeling Miller left to get help for anger management issues?

Possibly a substance abuse issue as well. Pure speculation. But anger and alcohol go hand in hand

    2024 playoffs - Boeser 12 pts, Miller 12, Hughes 10, Joshua 8, Pettersson 6. Miller isn’t the weak link.

I have no words for these guys...
The lack of shoots on net is disgusting to watch.
I'm pretty sure our Third liners like Yanik Hansen could manage a couple shots on goal 10 plus years ago.
Is Hughes the only player that can drive the puck to the net or go from one end to the other.
Peterson and Miller have both had great moments, but neither is close to The sedins shadow.
We need a better number 1 and 2 center.
We need a couple superstars on the top lines if we're going anywhere.

Probably can't stand that Petey is soft and hasn't put the offseason work to take his game to another level.
