Ibn Sirin's the great tabiees quote,which I dont remember exsctly but he said something when he had a calamitu befall him,this is punishment for the sin I comitted 15 years ago. Also sins do have punishment in this life like ij the battle of uhud when muslims left their position, the disbelievers nearly overwhelmed. Allah mentiomed this as a punishment from not staying om their posts. You can search this ayah and read its tafsir(ibn kathir)
