JVC GY-HM170 (4K)

Kedves érdeklődők! A JVC GY-HM170 videókamerát mindössze fél évig használtam, amikor elromlott. Az eszköz garanciális volt, így visszakaptam a pénzem. A kamera jellemzése:
-gyenge összeszerelés
-szappanopera hatású kép ( szoftveresen túlhúzott kontúrok )
-erős aberrációk
-az F1.2 nyitó fényerő ellenére zajos kép (pl. egy árnyas erdőben)
-az ND szűrő egyfajta zöldes-olajos árnyalatot "húz" a felvételekre
-bizonytalan, indokolatlanul korrigáló autófókusz
-pocsék FullHD minőség
A felvételeket a számomra kedves tartalom miatt megtartom, de az eszköz megvásárlását nem ajánlom jó szívvel senkinek!

Good Job.. Not everyone know how to program the settings on a camera to get the best results.. Manual settings folks.. Auto setting will make you throw the camera away..

i have this same camera, and the native auto settings will blow everything out, and ruin the color palate. Manual is definitely the way to go

Köszönjük szépen! A hangokat nem a JVC GY-HM170-es kamerával vettük fel, mert mindenféle nem kívántos zörej is belekerülne a klipbe, de az atomszféra "külön" felvétele teljesen szokványos módszer.:)

I decide to give my 5 cents here since 6 years - btw this cam has not been discontinued yet. I would not agree with author's opinion so far about some things. Well I own this one and know its pros and cons in details.
First of all - mentioned Panasonic HC-X1000 IS NOT BETTER in quality of video. I don't know the reason why. But you never will get the resulting video of HC-X1000 like this one made by author. You can try lot of tricky software processing but if there is not a good sharp footage, you will never make it better! This video we see here is very good one. But not thanks to postprocessing.
Postprocessing just gives it slightly better look for our perception. The source footage of HC-X1000 we see by the link given here in comments shows this well.
Poor FullHD quality? No any proofs really. not poorer then my Panasonic AC-AG30 FHD. Crisp enough.
Yes, really, GY-HM170 is not so good as Sony AX100, but in low-light. And in good light it works just great and when use properly manual settings (don,t allow gain more then 6 db, iris less then 1.4)
HC-X1000 has a big advantage of 50/60 p of course. But because of worse mage q. there is no sense to make the choice in its favor

I got my settings pretty close. Just a lot of messing around. It helps alot to put the color profiles to the Cinema settings. Also try not to go over 15db exposure or it will get grainy

I advise you not to buy it! This is a very bad camera. I've got rid of it too. Unfortunately, I can only explain in Hungarian what reasons to avoid this model.

I highly recommend Panasonic HC-X1000 or Panasonic HC-VXF990. Value for money are good cameras. The following recordings were made with these two camcorders: vimeo.com/209007293
Their disadvantage is light intensity, but this is true of Sony's models as well. Panasonic camcorders, however, can record 4k / 50p!

Hi, I am glad that you like the video. As the sensor is so small you have to use the optical zoom havily to get narrow depth of field and bokeh. So keep distace from the subjet and use as much optical zoom as you can. Regards, Ferenc

Hi Ferenc, I'm looking for that model of JVC camera due the affordable price on it, but the problem comes when you shoot inside and spaces are small, you can´t control de focal distance and you need to use optical wide angle. But anyway I understood your advice, thank you very much. Regards, John

Dear John, unfortunately I wont reccomend that camera for indoors and not even for outdoors as it has lots of problems with it's autofocus. It's full HD is not impressive at all and in UHD you only have 30fps. Panasonic HC-X1000 quite the same category but it is a better camera even if it's not perfect indoors too due to it's sensor size. Under 1inch sensor size it's really a pain to record indoors unfortunately.

The post-production is significant, because, unfortunately, the camera recorded a very low-quality images. It can only achieve results similar to the above video, a lot of patience and work.

i've just acquired this camera and learning how to use it...most video shootage i have seen with the camera have severe posterization mostly less-than-satisfactory results ... almost made me return the camera. this video shows that with the right technique (and skillful processing), this camera is more than capable of creating great videos.

The camera is basically always recorded image is too soft, that I knew only major post production somewhat rectified.

Köszi!:) A hangokat csak részben rögzítettük a JVC készülékkel. Mivel általában többen vagyunk a felvételek helyszínein, ezért óhatatlanul tele lenne a hanganyag "szeméttel". Régebbi, Rode mikrofonnal gyűjtött atmoszféra zajokat, a JVC saját felvételeit, ill. a világhálóról letöltött hangokat is használunk vegyesen. A pontosság kedvéért ezt utólag a leírásban feltüntettem.

Mivel a youtube alaposan tömörít, ezért most kiváló alkalom volt megfigyelni, hogy Full HD kijeljőn mennyivel szebb, kontrasztosabb a 4K-s felvételt lejátszani, mint csupán az 1080p-t.

Valójában ez a tömörített 4K más köszönőviszonyban sincs az eredeti felvétel részletgazdagságával. Egyébként - bár csupán 1920x1080 képpontot ( kb. 2 megapixel ) jelenít meg egy FullHD monitor - valóban látható a különbség, mint ahogy egy 8 és egy 2 megapixeles fényképet is meg tudunk különböztetni egymástól.:)

The footage is nice but I have to say that the 4K image quality on my 4K display is absolutely terrible. It cannot be compared to Sony 4K footage which is two times sharper.

This is sharp.. Check your settings. The footage is sharp, You can see every plant hair..
