      Is yours in English? Our bike's keychain was not, but most likely because we imported directly from China before it was available in other markets.

      @GregoryGrone-vb7qe 2 місяці тому

      @StoltecMoto not sure. Bike hasn't arrived yet. It'll be here the 12th. The videos I've watched show the keychain instructions in English. But I've also seen some other videos where they're in Mandarin. The bike is en route right now actually. Just left mainland China day before yesterday. Should be here by the 12th or sooner. Either way, there are several videos here on YT that give a thorough walk through of the adjustments you can make through codes. Just search on YT SurRon Ultra Bee code list. That should show you the information to unlock and tune your bike.

      @StoltecMoto strongly recommend you look into it. From what I'm seeing, these things are more tuneable than a 90s Honda Civic, right out of the box. Only thing I'm planning to change, is the tires. I plan on using it for a daily commute. So I think street tires would perform better, and probably increase the range and battery life. Not having to push those nobbies down cement should save some of the energy. And I'd like to be able to make sharp leans on windy roads. Nobbies struggle for traction on pavement.

      @StoltecMoto I believe it was your video that I was referencing. You do informative content. I've got mounds of respect and appreciation for that. I'm new to the scene. So every bit of knowledge and information I can absorb pertaining the bike is appreciated. Don't have anyone locally to converse with, so I'm using YT as a point of reference.

    Subscribed. Excellent. Just received my Ultra Bee yesterday, same exact setup as the one in this video. Few things:
    * Surprised of all things the chain does not have a master link. I will be switching to non-o-ring
    * While I ordered the "street" version on purpose, I will be removing all things street that I can for off-road/single track; rear light assembly, turn signals, mirrrors, rear passenger foot pegs and rear passenger grab rail. I am interested how much weight I will save.
    * Funny on the footpegs. I"m an old guy, not used to footpegs that grab your boot relentlessly and do not let go. I may have happy feet when I ride, but not a fan of the "lock your boot to the footpeg" footpegs. These may be good.
    * I am curious if there's a quick/easy way to help protect rocks/other from coming perfectly straight up under the bike and striking the motor ... seems like there's a bit too much open air there.
    * It seems the bike innards being so open is great, but it also seems there will be lots of dirt/mud that can collect -- then again, you can get at it and clean .. this will be interesting!
    * What is the HUGE allen wrench they included for? Also not in tool box it does not have a wrench big enough for rear tire -- as you indicated, will build a tool kit, tow strap, rain jacket solution to put under the seat. LOVE the room here!
    * Seat and battery removal and replace is challenging for me. I need lots more practice, it takes me an inordinate amount of time to put the seat back in place. I'm a dufus, must be.
    * Need to put a rim lock on the tire asap .. I am very good at lowering tire pressure and ripping off valve stems. This will be my first mod.
    * I don't think I received a "bee box?" I need to look through my stuff.

    • @StoltecMoto
      @StoltecMoto  6 місяців тому +1

      1. A non-oring chain will definitely help in the mud with chain life, and as you know, is easier to keep maintained. Bonus is that it also has less friction and helps with range. Full disclosure, this bike of ours still has the stock chain on it after the last 500 ish miles.
      2. We did the same. left the headlight (and horn). See our other video for weight comparisons.
      3. I like a grippy peg, but these don't bother me at all. And they happen to be very durable. Don't ask me how I know.
      4. There are a few folks making skid plates. I've been on the fence with buying one or making one of our own. In short, haven't had an issue bottoming out. Because the bike is so light and maneuverable, I've found I can correct line selections that would otherwise bash into rocks. I have dragged the underbelly on logs a few times, for what it's worth...
      5. See the opening picture after the first cross country race on this bike. God...mud was EVERY where. But, as you say, with the battery out, was very easy to clean up. I like to lay it over when I wash it...so light and no fuel to spill.
      6. Either the seat latch sucks or we're both dufuses. Dufi?
      7. Be careful with those stock tires and tubes! Take a look at our 21/18 wheel upgrade video to see why (spoiler: we ended up flatting a couple tubes).
      8. Ours came with one, but never used it.

    I really appreciate the detail of this walk-around and found a lot of value in your size comparison with the UB. I'm a bit bigger then you are at 6'1+ ~220. I've had the chance to sit on the light B and have found it to be very small. I have recently also had the chance to bop onto a KTM EXC. I found the size of the stock EXC to be a bit small but manageable. Do you have any thoughts you'd be willing to share on setting the UB up for a larger rider? My thinking is: differently swept bars, a set of risers, and the 21/18 setup electric cycle rider has raved about. I am not looking to jump into a storm, since I have a fantastic dual sport already. I am really looking for that light weight electric bike+1, lol. Question concerning your stated build plan too for this bike. What are you planning on doing?

      The bars would be the first stop and might be the ticket for ergos. Beyond that, respringing the suspension for your weight. Not sure if a taller seat would help (or to what extent it’s feasible), but something worth considering.

    Tried calling the distributor, tried emailing, tried their chat box, and got no response. Finally emailed Surron directly and gave them the vin and distributor name, they @ed them on the email and lo and behold the distributor responded immediately saying they would get it mailed out.

    I love my surron, but I could only find it in the off-road version without passenger pegs and turn/brake lights. Surron seems to have issues finding me these parts too. Idk why I can't seem to find it online.
    Overall its an amazing urban bike other than I have to convert the tires to tubeless to put some sweet avons streets(strange stock knobby sizes 80/100x19 is a lame size) on as I use this bike as a work vehicle(that's right! I'm writing it off on my taxes it's that useful as an e bike!) Then I'm swapping between the 18/21 and 19/19 rims depending on my plans for the bike at the moment.
    This bike has been way more of a blessing than most other material things in my life, though I do wish the customer service came through better in California bay area, i have to travel like 100 miles for a warranty service!

    I want to find one to look at so bad in person! I want to find out how it will do against my little disability foot scooter? But that is a premium motorcycle for china. It's so fake that it's real now !

      At your height, anything short of full size dirt bike will be small. However, you can get taller bars and a custom seat to improve the ergos. Plus, a 21/18 setup will raise the overall height of the bike by about an inch.
