Kasabian is Serge. The guy literally writes the whole material. You may not like it, but it make for senses to him for sang everything, since he's the one that create everything.
Great track! Nice to see Kasabian embracing their groovy side
Might be an unpopular opinion, but I actually love the direction they’re going with their music, they’ve always had a funky edge but since Serge took over as frontman they’ve really leaned into it, and all of the singles for this new album have hit in very different ways, for me this is the most expansive and rounded they’ve ever been, and they sound great.

This is my favourite so far from Happenings. Algorithms was alright, Call felt a bit like Serge trying to be a rapper. But this is catchy, just wish it was longer
Agree. I want to see some heavier songs in the album aswell but I doubt it I still think algorithms is the best

Ben was a very important part of this band's sound and worked with them for a very long time (since 2005-2006 I believe, possibly earlier). he is an excellent keyboardist.
@@user-ot3yc1tk6j ну да, если быть точными, тогда так. Но в обоих случаях музыканты не в составе группы (не в доле) и получают оплату за работу, а не проценты от дохода, и они по сути свободы играть с кем хотят и уйти в любой момент.
UPD: посмотрела определение слова «сессионный» - живые выступления тоже входят в это понятие.

Great performance. Really upbeat track and sounds great live too. Serge sounds a little shaky but still sounds top!
He's had much better vocal performances recently, this was a little off

@@jorgew7538 yeah maybe, though tbf I doubt he'd be nervous for this after smashing knebworth and countless other festivals. Have seen them live with Serge up front a few times and it's genuinely just as good as when Tom was there
@@sg3215no it wasn’t, stop coping. Serge does not have the voice or stage presence to front a rock band. Tom is an actual singer who can project his voice, in key…night after night
This is a great SLP song but it's sooo not Kasabian.
sergio is literally kasabian, hes wrote most the songs and sang a large number of them even before tom was kicked out
@@will7335 I think Kasabian did the 100% right thing when they fired Tom for being found guilty of assaulting his partner but I just think the new Kasabian are too SLP. Please don't take me for one of those Tom apologists who think it's ok to assault a woman.

How is tom kasabian lmao, serge literally wrote the vast majority of songs and sang on large amount even before tom was kicked out for beating a women. Tom has one thing over the new kasabian and that is vocals, his song writing is shite and his band looks and sounds like a weird cover band.

Serge really just doesn’t have the vocal range or power in his voice to be a competent frontman. It was tolerable back when he would take the lead on like 3 songs per album or singing back up, but imo he’s exposed himself as incompetent to fill Toms shoes. Should have just disbanded and pursued his SLP stuff but the Kasabian brand is too profitable.

Serge should have just ended Kasabian rather than kick Tom out and put his energy/talents into The SLP. I feel like he’s just burying the name of the band with all of this now, it’s just not Kasabian.

I never thought that I would criticize Kasabian's live performance, but this day has come. I saw them perform live and thought maybe it wasn't the best day for Serge's voice, but apparently it wasn't just "the day".
The stage is sad and empty, just like the performance itself. Many years ago they were a really good band.
Shame they mistook Tom's burnout and depression for simple alcoholism. And they just treated him like an alcoholic.
They became mediocre as musicians and, as it turned out, as people too.

@@sg3215Maybe this is the problem. Tom made any of Sergio’s songs better, but I don’t think even he would have helped here.
Listening to serge sing the songs Tom did just doesn’t work for me. And I definitely think the bands changed direction after Tom left were as toms solo tunes have more of a kasabian sound than kasabian
@@user-vs7rd2bk1c they are better with tom but the music just has a different sound to it now. I actually think its decent. Serge is the brains behind it all anyway so if he wanted to write a rock song he would.
@@BigBoy5188 Sergio can do whatever he wants. This is completely his group. All that was left of Kasabian sound was drummer. I've never been a fan of Sergio's voice and I just don't like the new songs. For me there is nothing in them that would make me want to listen to it again.and if you like it, good for you. Enjoy

He should have just changed the name honestly. I am not Tom’s fanboy who is hating for no reason but this is just so bad. He can’t sing, there is something about the way he whines that makes me wanna throw my phone to the wall, like so cringe and annoying. It’s just sad seeing what this band has come to. Literally sad seeing them on stage singing this crap.

@@joshdavies5742They kept the name and said they are Kasabian. Kasabian is my favorite band. I watch my favorite band perform and I don't see anything that looks like them. And I wonder if it's just me or somebody else too. There's no reason not to talk about it. And how will I know how bad it is if I don't listen to it first. Don't live in your fictional world where everyone supports what they do.
@@user-vs7rd2bk1c Tom assaulted his partner it was right that he was removed from the band that is his own fault. If you don’t like the bands new albums then don’t listen to them or follow them nobody is holding a gun to your head. The band have done a album which is a different sound get over it

Obviously it's not going to sound the same, and obviously it's not the ideal situation for fans. If Serge'd called it quits when he fired Tom then maybe their legacy would be purer in a way but I'm still glad to hear him make music

It would have been more honest to continue as SLP. For Chris and Tim to go on Sergio's solo tour was not a problem, I think Ian wouldn't have refused either. They would be a new band with the ex-Kasabian prefix. They would have had the only frontman best for them. Kasabian was important to a lot of people as it was.
@@user-vs7rd2bk1c I agree. Then again a counterargument for Serge is that why would/should he ditch the Kasabian brand which he's had such a massive part in creating? He deserves the rewards of writing those massive songs years ago, instead of starting over essentially
@@kp-rv3uiMany "fans" belittle Tom's contribution to the band so much that sometimes it gets to the point of insanity. Why then should Tom's legacy be taken away from him? He has merit too. This band exists because of him too and because of him you hear the name of the band and you think they have great gigs. Let's be honest, this band became popular because of their live performances and it's pointless to deny Tom's contribution. If we say that in this band only those who write songs matter, then Kasabian is Sergio and Karloff.
This band is as much Tom's legacy as Sergio, Chris and Ian. He also gave his youth to this band and deserves respect for his work as much as the others.
Sergio will forever remain the author of these songs, and Tom will always be the frontman of this group, no matter what anyone says, everyone had their own role and everyone coped with it perfectly.
I think if Tom had not given 110% every gig since 2004, even with such a songwriter as Sergio, the path of this group would have been completely different (if there was one at all).
They created this together and it had to end together. It showed at least some respect for their shared past.
