do you thin it? wont it cover some details and leave brush marks?

I don't thin it as it is already a thin paint designed to give a good cover. Brush marks can be painted over with the base paint.

Thanks for your question. I never use a mask if I use a brush on primer, but I make sure I have good ventilation just in case.
