I love your sing-songy exuberant voice when you are explaining the recipes. And I love how simple these recipes are. Thank you for being on UA-cam and sharing your knowledge.
I made this Chef John but I had like half an onion in the fridge so I diced that up and cooked it down in the olive oil before putting the garlic in. It was pretty good.
Just made this soup today. Amazing, creamy and total worth for a meatless dinner. It is definitely simple. The only thing I add more was onions and smoked paprika. Yum ...
Just tried this out. LOVE IT!!! I added a half cup of cooked white rice blended to add texture because I didn't have cream. I have been looking for a recipe using asparagus. THKS Chef John.
“Massage your potage”. You’re killing me with your narratives! I can’t wait to make this one I have all the ingredients in the pantry right now but it’s a little after 10 PM and I’m too tired. I absolutely love watching your videos. Thank you Chef John. ♥️👍🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I just made this soup and have to say that this is one of the most delicious asparagus creamy soup that I’ve ever had, THANK YOU! I added some caramelized onions before adding the cauliflower and it was amazing! It will be in my repertoire moving forward, thank you again and will keep being a big fan of your channel! 😋😋😋
Another good idea, just bought a big bunch of Cauliflower, half of which I am going to mix with sweet potato seasoned with butter that makes me a substitute instead of mashed potato, and now the other half I am going to follow your excellent vid recipe and buy me a bunch of asparagus for soup. I find your recipe a very good idea instead of wasting my leftover. Thanks very much. More power to you.
tried this today and it was absolutely delicious, thank you so much for the recipe! It took very little time and the ingredients are not expensive. I added a pinch of sweetener and a teaspoon of vinegar in the end, in order in intensify the taste (there was enough salt and pepper but it didn't taste as I hope it to).
That is seriously the most beautiful garnish on a soup that I have ever seen... how are you so good, Chef?! And where can I get those flowers in Argentina???
I made this today! So simple and delicious :D Mine was a bit thicker, possibly because I used a run of the mill blender and not as much stock? I'll play with it to make sure. Thanks Chef John! 👨🍳👌
Excellent starter or side soup. I went heavier on the cayenne to give it a little bit of a kick. Goes great with a dollop of sour cream and some good crusty bread. A definite keeper.
I'd totally make this if I didnt hate asparagus and cauliflower. You actually make it look really delicious and if I didnt know it had asparagus in it I'd probably eat this soup
I made this in my pressure cooker in 5 minutes. Put chopped cauliflower in bottom of pot with chicken broth and placed chopped asparagus in steam basket for pot. This then was cooked for 5 minutes and ready. I pureed with my immersion blender and stirred in some butter and cream. As a garnish I put a dab of sour cream in each bowl with some fresh pepper. No garlic sauted step was required. It was tasty. I might next time grate some lemon rind on top of sour cream dollop or actually put the lemon rind into the soup. This is great recipe. Quick and easy in pressure cooker.
Chef John, a tip to avoid the fog on the camera lens: use a little fan next to the camera, it will avoid the cloud of fog coming straight to the lens. You're welcome.
Chef John, followed you for a while, your vids are a great distraction, inspiration and way to kill time. Know this is an old vid, but wanted to tell you that I made this soup tonight - fantastic!
Would enjoy seeing your take on an empanda. I always make my mom's beef empanada recipe but wondered if you had a version. Sorry if it was done already...I'm kinda new and working my way back.
Jokes about Instagram aside, that bowl of soup is so gorgeous I feel like taking pictures of it or painting it instead of eating it. But I'm sure it tastes amazing c:
delicious I will top mine with some minced sauteed garlic I think and a pinch of Paprika for color :), few lemon drops and a plash of cream- I promise it will look pretty too
This looks very easy to make. What would be the safest way to blend all the ingredients using a blender? I'm guessing I'd have to pour in small portions with the blender jar slightly covered to let the steam out.
Very versatile soup for someone who is ill. Light, nutritious, comforting. I grate some potato into it for extra body and nutrition. a dollop of leftover mashed potato works. One spoonful of cream in the bowl. Tiny dollops of comfort.
I think Chef John was keto before keto was cool. So many of his recipes are either "basically" keto friendly, or easily modified. As always, thanks chef John.
Chef John, I like all your recipes but when I am looking for chicken pot pie recipe I cannot find your version of it. If you have made a video of it, can I have the link? But if you havent made a video of it, can you pls make one? Thank you.

The dish looks beautiful chef. The flower really did help make the green soup more appetising especially because of its vividly contrasting red colour

ScepticalSloth: Excellent idea! I will try that to keep the salt down. Thanks.
