Dancers from RSCDS Belfast demonstrate City of Belfast (RSCDS Book 48) devised by one of their teachers, Lucy Mulholland, for the Branch's Diamond Jubilee in 2006.
It's difficult to understand how anyone could dislike this video... graceful and stately dancing to music that evokes an era of a time gone by... and all on a badminton court, no less; simply charming! Thank you so much for posting.
My favourite strathspey, it's the beautiful music that speaks to me, and then the grace and poise of the dancers and the dance: Lucy you are an inspiration.
The music is City of Belfast, written by Marian Anderson. I believe it her band playing for the dancers. The second tune is "Lament for Rev Archie Beaton".

I miss going to my Scottish country dance classes.
A lovely dance and really wonderful music!
So lovely to watch . I have some Scottish ancestry and wish I had learned to dance like that when I was young .
Classes still go on around the world! It’s not too late 😊
Beautiful! My favorite strathspey. It give the dancers ample opportunity to dance gracefully to beautiful music.
Absolutely love this dance; so beautifully demonstrated here, thank you!
Nicely done
Beautiful!
Lovely dance!
One of very favorites and the music is perfect. Is it the selection of tunes that makes it, I wonder or dance formations
I think it's both Lucy wrote a beautiful dance Marian Anderson's tune compliments it wonderfully and I think this must be her band playing
😊
I like to see a Strathspey danced properly. I'm sure I'd get muddled on that last figure though.
The final formation is the Espanole
ボレロ デスカリヨン
