Liked how the positions of the screen and sprites no longer restricted to being alinged with the text character grid, allowing smooth scrolling and movement.
whats the point of it being ascii then? why couldnt it be textured?

you can just render characters into a canvas instead of a console making everything essentially free from "the grid"

It is really clever how for stuff that is non obvious they took advantage of ASCII art and just wrote "stone" or "wood"

Я тоже сделал ASCII игру, сидит на Стиме, называется Monsterland. Я её вообще написал на Лазарус/Фри Паскале с библиотекой SDL2.

I'm not sure I appreciate the ASCII gimmick when none of the entities are actually ASCII.
This really isn't an ASCII game, it's just a normal game where the sprites/textures are made out of letters and symbols
