Nice video ! I learned quite a lot. About setting up raid and using device manager + drivers from CD (I used to rely on internet but sometimes, you could not have the choice).
Just might be too fast for beginners.

If you use the actual gpu driver cd in the box, will you get the latest updated driver? Or do you have to go online to their website to get the latest updated.
Can you have both your OS and Drivers loaded on the same flash drive or does OS need to be on a seperate drive?

I am doing a new pc build but i am still using my old hard drive that has my windows 7 x64bit installed on it and all my old drivers for my old componenets. Would i still follow the same steps as this in order to boot everything up or would i have to uninstall my old motherboard drivers before taking out the hard drive, then boot from the new motherboards disk in order to avoid damaging it?
Will the voltage for the cpu, GPU, etc. . .set themselves?

I have a question. Intel has now released drivers for RAID which do support TRIM. How would you install those when you setup your Desktop build for the first time?
Hey what is the purpose for putting both drives on raid0? Is the only reason to make it seem like you have one drive?

hey guys,i just bought myself an Asrock 890fx Deluxe 5 motherboard and two Radeon HD 7770's with a 700Watts psu and an AMD pheanom II x6 1035T 2,6Ghz CPU but when i install all of it i cant into the BIOS, i can hear and see that the systems boots the fans starts blowing and the LED's come on, but i when i plug the monitor cable into the graphics card, it tells me that thers no signal, and i know the monitor works and cable, any advise!? please

@ByLyel I work in a computer store where people come in and call USB, UBS. But I have never heard any one call a 6990, or any other AMD/ATI card 6-9-9-0. Do you can the 580 the 5-8-0?

@Zarkamo The extra RAM he put in is called a page file, or extra RAM on the hard drive itself if the computer runs out of RAM. So he has about a 3.5GB page file, and 4GB worth of DDR3.
i'm building a computer but i'm not going to buy a cd drive. Is there any way to work around having to install the ethernet driver from a disk?

Ok guys lets get one thing clear. In one of his videos Linus said he was a professional unboxer and I do believe he is doing a great job. So if Linus is a professional why is he telling us to throw away the motherboard drivers discs. Dont get me wrong, these videos are great and keep it up Linus. You are by far the best unboxer on youtube. And also, for that user that I did not bother to look up his user name, you are right I dont have any videos yet nobody expects me to have any.

Linus, I've got to thank you sincerely for putting up these videos. I've watched many many people in the past talk about computers and software, but they're normally kids with geek voices that get so annoying that you can't get into it. I look forward to every single segment that you post.
The thing I haven't seen is reviews though. I'm sure you'd be an awesome reviewer of products. I bought the MSI P67 B3 GD 55 because I wasn't really sure the difference between it and the GD65.
Check your Motherboard manual too see what PCIE slots to plug your gfx cards into to get it to work. After that, Make sure both cards are fully working (do some stress tests one at a time) After that, try a different CFX bridge.
Linux has some very helpful videos to explain different raids in detail but basically:
Raid 0: 2 or more storage drives share data and work faster
Raid 1: Your data is copied between 2 sets of drives (redundancy) to save data incase of one of the drives failing
Raid 10: combination of raid 0 and raid 1
Raid 5: Your data is arrayed on several drives, with an additional drive reading and writing the data to them
raid 6: like raid 5 but uses 2 parody drives rather than 1

Hi. As I understand you cant have one drive configured as raid and another non raid drive. You have to either configure both drives as raid or both drives as AHCI/Auto. I think the best way is go to bios and set your drive configuration to ahci/auto. Then you should be able to see both drives.

I have a question for anybody that may know. When your running two SSD drives or two HDD drives and you do both in raid 0 like what he did in the video. Does that double your speed? (read and wright time)

I was also wondering about his connection type. Personally I have a 16 Mb/s line resulting in about 1.8 MB/s actual download speed. So either he has some kind of cable modem or more probably a fat corporate internet connection like T3 or OC1/3 with load balancing on the ports, which costs hundreds of dollars a month.
What if we want to re-use a hard drive for a new system?

he just bought it what's the best way to put a better one in (with warranty and shit) and what would be the best card for him? I was thinking like the HD6850 / HD7850 would do fine but it's pretty high priced for him)

i got it working, but now i cant get crossfireX to work, i got the latest driver and and everything AMD recormends for CrossfireX. It is enable in the CCC but my mobo and CPU-Z tells me that the second card isnt doing anything, its just the fan spinning

If you mean take the old drive and plop it into the new pc you should be able to. I still have some old drives with windows on it that I need to access time to time for files and it worked fine when I booted off it.

just format the drive when you gonna choose drive for instalation for windows then you have fresh copy :)
tip: its always best to format the hardrive if you bying new moderboard beacause its working better :)

i have a legit copy of windows 7 ultimate sp/1 burned to a disc however when i go to install it it goes up to expanding windows files and 3% when the optical drive seems to stop whirring and making a noise and it just stays there for like forever HELP?:((

Make sure you plugged in the 8-pin cpu power connector on the top left( at least on my mobo)
