I recently got a google home and now this is being recommended to me.

you recently got a Google Home mini and then told Google that you got it because you set it up in your home so yesyou should see lots of new ads about Google products and Google smart home things.
now consider a smart home hub and accessories such as smart switches and outlets and things you can turn on and off by scheduler under conditions or by your voice.
and each time you look up one of these items or set up one of these items you're going to get ads related to these items and their competitors.
you do know if you start talking about step ladders and aluminum ladders and folding ladders in different types of ladders in front of your Android or iphone device, within a couple of days you'll start seeing ads about ladders and step stools.
you don't have to buy things just go start shopping or even have discussions with your friends in front of your phone and eventually you'll see ads influenced.
my Android actually has some degree of control of that in the settings it's not avoidable it's just a type of control.
spying on you is normal and has been for a while.

Thanks for being one of the few that have figured out how use post production to not trigger smart devices.
I love my google home devices. Strongly suggest exploring IFTTT for creative control. For example, commercials are automatically skipped when I watch a TiVo recording with skip feature. It might not sound like a big deal but trust me, it is.

The weather on your tv, music alarm features do work outside the US.
This is what you need to do:
1. Set phone and the Home app to US English.
2. Hey presto
3. You will also get a choice of a male voice, by doing this. It wasn't available until I changed to US English.

And if you are the receiver of a broadcast, you can say, "Hey Google, Reply" and then you can reply to whoever did the broadcast.

Don't ..just go .get the echo Dot it's is freaking amazing. I got both Google and Alexa and the functionality of Alexa is Awesome. She skills is so vast.. Google can't compare at all.

Holy sh*t, I've been slowly doing new things with my home. And I knew I needed a mini in my bedroom. But wow I didn't know the home was so robust already. Definitely gonna get 2 homes and put one in my son's bedroom, and one in my bedroom. That cast feature is going to come in handy. Especially since you can do it from outside of the home location.

Thanks I just bought one today this really helped I got the Google home nest mini 2nd gen
like the features, setup was difficult for some of my devices (August Door lock, ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxhB5YOMNj04GuoAosExygP4cH-dKeb4aB Bose speaker)... but all switches and outlets (5), thermostat, tankless water heater. Unfortunately all I can do is turn on/off Bose. It doesn't support volume or changing channels, but I believe that is due to the particular speaker I have.... Worth getting if you already have other devices to use it with... I don't sit around and ask Alexa questions much so that doesn't really matter to me....

You can also set the default playback mode of your speakers to be the group you created so that you don't have to ask it to play everywhere every time.

Awesome! Broadcast is so cool, I can talk to people downstairs just through my phone. But where be those pre-made broadcasts?
ask google or search what some of the pre made ones are. I know a couple like "dinner's ready" and "time to wake up" but I'm sure there are others.

a simple thing i wish to achieve additionally, bit different.
i have Android TV that doesn't have Bluetooth built in and the google home. (i saw all those bluetooth options/extensions, but don't want to add complexity where you have to permanently expect audio to come out of those aux output connected speakers)
simply, i would like to have option to cast audio to Google Home (from time to time depending on content i'm watching)...is there an app that can enable TV to throw audio output to the Google Home mini speaker, just over WIFI...not over Bluetooth
Also, i saw all those hometheatre expensive receivers where they have multiple HDMI inputs and optical input options but that doesn't seem fair option as i don't want to spend too much on this selective requirement as no use for those huge speakers and surround sound stuff

I know this video is a bit old, but one cool thing I found out yesterday is that you can turn your TV on using your voice if you have a chromecast attached to the TV and the TV has CEC turned on (most newer TVs have this function). It'll turn it to whatever input the Chromecast is on, but it's pretty cool to be able to turn the TV on without having to buy something like a Harmony Hub.

@@JonSuejoj did you turn CEC on? And do you have your chromecast set up with your google home system? I also noticed that one of my TVs apparently doesn't provide power to the USB port unless it's turned on, so I can't use this feature with that TV if I have the chromecast powered by the TVs USB port.

Is there a way to disable the confirmation message? For example, when I say "Okay google, turn on the living room lamp", I'd like to the Google assistant to just turn on the light and not say "Okay, turning on the living room lamp". That gets annoying pretty quickly to hear that every day.

Can you use a Home with Spotify what is using another device to stream/play the music? Let's say I say Google Home that play a song and it starts playing on the computer, just as I can do it with Google Assistant on my phone. Or I just set the device on the computer and than give commands to the Home? Would that work? (I'm thinking about buying one and this would be one of the main thing I used it)
So, now I know, that you can't command other Spotify devices from Google Home. It says "nothing is playing at the moment".
You can however control music from phone or pc if it's played on Home, except the sound.
can I play my bluetooth music (iphone/apple music) to all my speakers? or is it only through spotify/google music?

I am thinking about buying Google Home Mini I want to control home appliances, yesterday I bought syska LED light Wi-Fi enabled and I find out that I can control it by Google assistant easily so now my question is is there any benefit of buying Google Home Mini, (I don't want to use Chromecast because I have a PC)

Yes, it acts as another smart devices in other rooms like a bedroom so you communicate between places in your home. You can also ask it to do commands like play music or set reminders and it doesn't cost nearly as much as a regular google home.

Great video. I learned a bit about my nest mini. Shopping list is the most used for now besides just playing music. I also have a TV I can speak to too but it is still more in the fun area than practical yet. But I see some bright future in these products.
