this guy just casually held his breath for 3 minutes and 38 seconds. i swim competitively and i’m impressed.
This is different, I can hold static for 6 mins, but when I swim, I can only do 1:30. It’s all about controlling consumption of oxygen. I bet you can easily do 3 without training if you are good swimmer.
Thank you so much for sharing this and saving lives! I survived a shallow water blackout then sank 65'. Even when told to stop my buddy didn't stop CPR until medics arrived. I went on to get married, have 4 children and a grandson! :) I also went on to have a 32-year-long career in Policing where I was able to help others. Spread the word!!! Jonathan, Hawaii
You didn't breathe for 65 minutes or seconds sorry?
@@midclocksame question lol
@@midclock @Dailycast99 65' = sixty-sive feet.
Christian Wodey :- Shallow water black out causes when you try to stop your breath for a longer time. It is very dangerous.
Also Christian Wodey :-stays underwater for 3 mins 30 seconds approx.
If you are reading this, just have a nice day!
Sure, thank you begging bot.
@@ScubaShark--8964 lol
You too!
You just made me more scared of swimming 😪
new fear unlocked
Watching you hold your breath for 3 minutes gave me anxiety I can’t imagine drowning myself
i want to drown myself too actually kind of i cant imagine it either, im with ya
@@moon69428 Are you okay or is that just a typo in your sentence? 😅
@@OmniNeon900 i do not know
@@moon69428 I'm assuming that English isn't your first language. I could understand what you were saying in your older comment but the typo looked concerning so that's why I was asking. This is probably a misunderstanding anyway, sorry.
@@OmniNeon900 thats fine, also yes English isnt my first language its actually Dutch
I can’t believe this dude held his breath for this long. That is insane. . I probably couldn’t even hold it for a minute. :
If only I found your channel when I wanted to be a mermaid 😩☝🏿
When I was about 6 or 7 I thought it would be a good idea to hold my breath underwater in a warm public pool. I started to feel that euphoric feeling and I went into a fettle position and I’m pretty sure I passed out. AM I DEAD!!!?????
kinda wish that would happen to me
also whenever i see comments like this i always get random anxiety and stress, what can stop this at all
@@moon69428same here haha
I don't understand the logic explained at the beginning. What's wrong with hyper ventilating? It definitely changes your O2 vs CO2 balance/ratio right? Gives you more oxygen, enough to supply your organism until your movements produce too much CO2 and you are forced to breathe, to compensate with new oxygen because the one you had, is already gone, you spent it already.
A sequence of repetitive deep breaths does increase the quantity of O2 in your blood. Am I wrong? You can even pass out by that O2 rush xD (like the guys from Yes Theory on Wim Hof) That's why you are forced to breathe deeper and faster the more you demand from your muscles when doing exercise. They make so much CO2 that your body forces you to take more oxygen in.
The guy in the video is a legend. Much respect. Over 3 minutes and even doing a backflip underwater on the pool floor hahah
Hyperventilation expels CO2 and it doesn't increases O2. When you deplete your O2, instead of having high CO2, you have low CO2 and that won't trigger your brain so that it's time to surface and take a breath and you black out and die. Levels of O2 have no influence on triggering breathing, only levels of CO2.
When you run, you are producing CO2 that must be expelled, that's why breathing is increased.
Nah,
The urge to breath is triggered by Blood acidity which increases by CO2 levels.
When you hyperventilate, you have the same amount of pO2 in your blood as normal,
But you flush CO2 out very well,
Thus the urge to Breath, Diaphragm spasms are subdued,
You can continue to hold your breath past the point of O2 depletion, which you otherwise wouldn't be able to do because you would have an impulse to breath due to High CO2 levels.
I never breath when I swim, I mostly hold them whole I swim. Idk how to breath while swimming.
The water kinda gets the in the way, huh?
i have goggles like the guy in the video, i can kinda breathe in them but not really good but still
I noticed something as he swim down the water that his short trouser turned blue from red. It's like litmus paper react with base😅😅
Doppler effect maybe
i guess this is the real answer i want
but how to increase our holding if we shouldnt do it too long
That's scary to think of I hope that does not happen to me
I wasn't aware of this, I'm not a pro diver, but I like to go o underwater in the summer.
Something that I really like about it is the peace down there. Sometimes i felt like I didn't need ti breathe and stayed down much more than usual... I felt even more relaxed.
Is that how you can blackout?
....the water where I dive is at least 15m deep, if a blackout would happen to me, I'll easily end on the bottom withiut anybody noticing for sure
Good info. Im getting geared to snorkel with eyes on possible freedive-spear fishing interests
this if why i am afraid of water
What’s it like passing out? I just can’t comprehend it
Ikr! Do you just skip time or is it black and they can’t move? Or something else?
@GBF freeloader strange.. thanks for the info
@@hyenasami8481 feels like the peak of a THC high, that lasts for quite some time, your perception of time and events is kinda wonky.. at least in my experience. I’ve only been choked out in jui jitsu a half dozen times never fainted under water but I imagine it would be the same
@@weStayModest probably
It's like you just wake up after being asleep, without knowing what happened in the last seconds.
Very strange feeling.
I passed out only once while going downstairs.... after some instants I was on the floor, with an open eyebrow, knowing absolutely nothing about what happened.
Luckily 3 stitches were enough, but worse could happen, because you fall like a sack of potatoes.
Him talking: me : keeps on questioning how he holds his breath that long
Hello i hope someone sees this in 2030
im finally not late
Hi. Better to try it without weight belt. Use only finns. Thank you for the moovie. Try to avoid lead skin contact.
Do a video about swimwear - what do you recommend for both men and women and why don't you wear Speedos?
A: Because its gross
it doesn't have to be underwater sometimes it's above too
is that why when u cme out of a warm pool and u feel sleepy
And can you give me some advice??how to get there ??
Can you teach me how to swim again i can't swim?
so are u saying, i can black out without any warning even i wasnt do hyperventilation?
What I understood is that swiming is actually very dangerous
Who else struggles to breathe while watching him bec u think u will drown
not me, although... "u think u will drown" i kind of want that to happen to me, i watch alot of this and i cant stop myself
I’m the first one that comments
No some one else was first sorry
Arixel yt
Was first
How can you hold you breath for so long
How do y’all dive properly under water?
I just float straight to the top and I couldn’t even dive
He's got a weighted belt. It's pretty much impossible to dive for any reasonable length of time without weights since you'll expend all your energy pushing yourself down.
Hey thank you for ur tips in swimming I'm really afraid of swimming cause I might drowned when I see ur video I'm not afraid anymore so thank you so much for ur videos it's ok if u don't see this so thank you again for ur tips in swimming it realty helps me 😁😁
congrats! are you a good swimmer at this point?
@@moon69428 yep
So today I decided to jump in head first into my local pool(aiming fotr the bottom of a 3 meter pool) Something strange happened my head started buzzing and my vision went all I can remember is my vision going from BRIGHT WHITE TO BLACK AND THEN BACK TO WHITE and then back then I was fighting to get back out the water.Im not sure what happened but if yout diving you need to know what the hell your are doing.
I'm not sure but it seems very similar to when you stay crouched for a few minutes, and then get up fast. It happens more in the summer, when temperatures are higher (and your blood pressure is lower).
Maybe you jumped in the pool after laying in the sun for some time, and you had a pressure drop just after jumping in the pool.
Does it make sense?
New fear unlocked
First!
What color are your shorts blue or pink???
Pog
1:44 How do i know if i feel empowered/euphoric by holding my breath too long, or from reaching a personal breath holding goal :|
You'll feel that.
How long you last underwater??
Then how to know our limit?
Dont pass than 20 seconds
Without breathing
Your vision starts to get spots
I missed your coke video
am i the only one expecting him to try one?
#Rip #JjRice... 😢😢😢
Rip to JJ Rice a 18 year old Caucasian male who was going to be in the Olympics and represent the island of Tonga who died form shallow water blackout.
Here's a tip to not go in prison don't do something stupid

Me siento que mi record en '68 fue' en la prehistoria
That's scary
Well I was waiting for a black out but fuck me i guess
Ahmed
Did I die???
Never swim or hold your breath alone? Like how is that even possible. It’s just not realistic and I bet most people don’t follow that.
Thats creepy
c
Imagine being so good at holding your breath you die. I got surfers ear, i cant put my head underwater and cant get it fixed without private health insurance.
15th!
