This is the only truly good review I've seen on the Gazelle Medeo T10+. Far better than the ones I had to endure from the real estate bike flipper who wants to sell his book. Thanks so much for this!
I've owned this bike in its mid step dual battery configuration for 2 months. It's been good. Every time I step over the beefy triangle in the middle of the frame I feel like this was a good decision. It's not always 28mph keep that in mind. For me it's 20mph up most hills in WI and 24mph average speed with the stock tires which I'm considering having swapped for skinnier ones for speed. Getting a stem riser and extra short stem to basically make it a cruiser, overall good. It's a head turner.
@@joefazio4995 hey joe. I spoke with their excellent customer support and they said all of these motors have been upgraded via software update to have 85nm.
Love the internal cabling. Its only when you have outer mounted cables rub off your sweet paint job that you long for internal cabling. That bosch motor is a nice size for sure.
As for now it's only listed on Gazelles US website, not the EU sites. Wish for Gazelle to type approve it for the EU market aswell. We need great value priced speed pedelecs in the EU too :) I think the R&M Roadster HS is among the cheapest speed pedelecs offered here and it's starting at about $4800
Great review/great bike/great price. 1 question: I'd seen a vague comment by another reviewer who talked about the need to be very careful when re-installing the battery cover. The person insinuated that it wasn't all that straightforward and could possibly result in the battery cover falling off while riding because it wasn't fully/properly seated. Did you notice anything in your testing to support that notion that the battery cover could possibly present any problems? Thanks.
I think they did it to allow the option of adding a second battery. I just ordered this bike and they're going to put a battery slot on it since I already have a Bosch battery.
Hi Chris, great review. Couple questions. Do you have this in stock in your Long Beach store? Also, is the display upgradeable to the Kiox display? And is this motor software upgradable to 85 nm torque?
Thanks! We’ll have it in another week or so. The bike will have 85Nm once we update in the shop and we could upgrade the display to Kiox. I hope this helps :)
Thanks so much for these videos. I am struggling mightily between the Medeo T10+ and the T10 which are both fabulous bikes IMHO, and my only concern about the T10+ is the whirring motor noise (which is absent on the T10). Have owners of the T10+ complained about that noise, and is there any way to remediate the noise? Or does the noise level possibly vary from one bike to another - such that the one I buy might be quieter than the one I test ride?
There will be little difference in motor noise from bike to bike. Another other consideration is the class III bikes will have more legal restrictions on trails compared to the standard class I T10. Both bikes are great. I have ridden both and ended up purchasing the T10. I don't use the bike for commuting and the 20 mph assistance is plenty for me and I can easily get over 20 mph with a pretty seamless difference once the pedal assist drops off.
@@fedguy9182 Well that's good to know. I'm retired 72 years old looking only for leisure cycling with a bit of around town shopping runs, so with your impression I might be best simply going with the Class #1 T 10. Thank You
It probably varies depending upon bike and weather conditions etc... I noticed a slight noise in my Gazelle Ultimate C380+ but after about 500 miles of riding it , I didn't notice the noise anymore. So there may be some break in time as well. With my Gazelle Medeo T10+ I didn't notice a noise on flats but on hills or in windy conditions I definitely notice some slight noise.
What is this "update" I see reference to regarding going from 75 to 85 Nms? I'm looking to buy but not until 2021. Will there be a new version next year? Thanks, great review.
Sorry about that. This bike will come standard with the 85Nm now. There isn’t a new version, but there are some expansions to this line, including a belt version with the enviolo hub.
I so wanted to buy this eBike until I saw the price for the second battery. Is Gazelle the Apple of the eBiking world? Close to $1ooo for a second 500Wh battery. I bought a Juggernaut Hub Duo Step-Thru instead with a 52V 21Ah 1118Wh second battery for about the same price as the Gazelle battery. The Biktrix is nowhere near as nice as the Gazelle, but hopefully I will get the range I hope for. It would be great to ride to the nearest beach and ride around for a bit before heading back home without having to rent a room to recharge the batteries. Chris, your relatives in Florida need to go ebiking with you and your UA-cam cameras. I love watching your many videos.
I just bought this bike today. I am so excited to get it and ride it. Woohooo!!!!! I rode it and I was sold. SOLD!!!! whooohooo!!! Can I switch the display to the smartphone hub?
@@3WolfMoon I still love this bike. It's still going strong in pristine condition. I upgraded to the Nyon hub back in June 2021. I sold my Gazelle Medeo T10+ in October 2021 to a friend because I really wanted the Gazelle Ultimate C380+ with the Eviolo CVT hub and the gates belt drive which I feel makes it the perfect bike for NYC. Either way, the Medeo T10+ is a close second in that regard and for some it may be the best bike for NYC with a chain. The friend I sold it to rode it to run errands a few days ago. We chat everyday via text or on the phone. Gazelle Bikes are extremely sturdy and can handle lots of conditions. The Medeo T10+ feels luxurious when you are riding it. This bike is built in Gazelle’s factory in Derien Netherlands. I wish I could go to Europe as well. Last year I was there 3 times and I miss my friends there.
@@Propelbikes Wouldn't it be great if a company like Gazelle could offer a "European Delivery" offering like some of the European car manufacturers do? Maybe something like where you and a family member can tour the factory and then are loaned a pair of bikes similar to what you purchased to go exploring for the day. You return them later in the day and enjoy the rest of your trip. When you return from Europe you can pick up your brand new Gazelle at your LBS.
I have thought about this and actually requested this, but the problem is the Eurospec bikes are different from the US spec ones. Come to think about it I think I will talk to Bosch about this and see if there is any possibility of doing this. When I was younger I used to dream about doing this with a German car.
Propel Electric Bikes I was thinking it would be more of a case of them having a fleet of bikes you use while in Europe and then when you get back to America it’s a brand new bike that you receive (not the one you rode in Europe). So you have been in Dieren (Animals in English) where the factory is. The factory has been closed from 23-3-20 till 14-04-20 when they resume the production because off the Covid madness. Nice looking bike, it does not look like a speed bicycle. Those normally have a big ugly flat license plate holder on the back and a mirror on the left of your steering wheel. Together with a helmet. That is required for a speed pedelec in The Netherlands. You not can drive on the bicycle path or it has to be a path where also faster scooters may drive. I understood that in the USA the rules are not as clear, I understood that it can be different depending where you are in The States. Probably this speed bike is made for selling outside the Netherlands?
Yes, I was there last November and I’ve been really anxious to publish this one, but had to hold onto it. It was a special US version made for us to test while we were visiting.
@@Propelbikes There are quit some bicycle brands in The Netherlands, but Gazelle has something special. Big factory, it is a royal name. Amazing video. You talked about the motor being gen 4.0, i just looked at the Gazelle website and it says Bosch Performance Line 3.0 (65 Nm). Do you know what's true? Are i am lookin at the wrong bike?
Thanks Andre! The Medeo T9 and T10 has the Gen 3 motors, but the T10+ has the Gen 4 unless it’s different in your market for some reason. Here in the States that’s what it is.
Please help: Can anyone please inform of some factory geography size large: What is the tallest seat position on this bike in the size large?? (from ground to top of seat) and stand over height? and reach length too? This info would be most helpful and greatly appreciated!! Thanks
I have the Ultimate T10+. Size L, which is the largest offered (there is no XL). I’m 6’4” and it fits me very well. And there is still plenty of height available in the seat post….so I’d imagine someone even taller or longer inseam would still be happy, too….to an extent…I mean if you’re like 6’7”+ I’d imagine it’d be tough finding any stock bike that would really fit you as well as you’d like…. Plus don’t forget the adjustable stem/handlebar angle which also allows some more customization for your preferred reach/riding style.
You're correct. I remember talking to a guy at a bike shop in Scotland about it. Basically it's the law for the European Union. No child seats or child trailers for speed pedelecs.
Nice review 👍🏼 From my experience Gazelle is to expensive for what they deliver. For that price you will have Bosch CX Motor, Kiox Display, 12 speed XT shifting, 625wh battery. Also from my experience their frames sometimes lack in stiffness. From the review it also seems that it isn’t possible to replace the 500wh tube battery for 625wh tube which I think it is strange they didn’t implement that.
For a feature rich quality high speed Bosch powered ebike $3500 is a good price. I don’t think looking for cheap in this market is a good idea, corners are usually cut in at least one area and it will often impact your safety or the reliability of the bike. There are many more lower speed bikes which are less expensive, but due to safety regulations and testing in Europe the speed bikes usually cost more, but at least you know that the company is putting out a quality product which you can depend on.
Thanks so much for watching! ✌
