The amps are like 400$ and u could get a 1965a for another 4 or a used mesa cab would cost abt 5-7 hundred. U can achieve this tone with just the eq on any high gain amp honestly
@@Michael_VGI got a combo version for 400 on FB Marketplace, gonna convert it into a head and run it through my 70’s Marshall cabinet. So that’s my route, just as an idea for ya.
Dude you did it again! I play some pretty substancial Mesa rigs AND what you get out of this amp is mind blowing. Genius use of the eq. Fu@king suck tones BROTHA!
Your volume control is your gain knob basically, and your treble control will give you more saturation, the amp doesn’t work like a regular tone stack, it takes some messing around with it to get it right, just remember to keep your bass and middle knob fairly low and keep the treble around 7ish
@@Gornflyin I purchased the 50 cal for 400 from a buddy of mine that his dad had stored in the garage for 20+ years, got it home, cleaned all the pots and replaced the tubes and works great, it was the 1x12 combo, i converted it into a head
That sounds exactly like the demo version. I would kill for that tone

Why don't you just buy the amp instead of commiting murder?
@@mercilessforever I can't find one under $800. if you could find one listed for $400 i'd really appreciate it

All you need is an eq pedal.
That's heavy bro sounds really good
Right on man! Sounds Great!\m/

What (2) power tubes and preamp tubes are you running in v1-v5 positions? That will play a huge role in the tone as well.
Very close I love it
Amazing tone!! The cab is mesa 4x12?
It’s actually a 1x12 cabinet with the stock c-90 speaker, it was combo to head conversion I built
Hey, I just found this video. You’re getting a decent sound. I do similar stuff. What kind of mic and adapter do you use for your iPhone?
I was using a single sm57 into a behringer umc1820 connected to my iPhone and I’m using garage band
@@Metalicker69 okay ✅
Is the pic the same settings you used on the recording? What speakers did you have?
Yes all the settings are the same, and I used g12t-75s
@@Metalicker69 Sweet! Will try these settings on mine when I get home from work!
I just bought this amp and found out it has no gain knob. How do u get so much gain? Does it have something to do with ur eq?

@@Metalicker69 thanks for the advice. Does the boss eq really make that big of a difference? I dont have one yet but im willing to buy one.
@@kaasisbaazzz yes it does! The amp sounds amazing on its own, but you will have tons more adjustability with an additional eq in the loop
Just got this same amp, maybe I need to run my 10 band eq in the loop instead of the front of the amp ?
Yeah that will have a bigger affect on your tone than running it into the front
@@Metalicker69I re tubed mine. Holy crap! Now it sounds like yours. Friggin love it.
@@smith8281what tubes did you end up going with for power tubes and what tubes did you use in v1-v5 positions?
Hi. Your mesa 50 is from what year? Thanks
If I remember correctly, it was made in 1992
seriously! Just the amp and the EQ pedal? Sounds really good
Yup just the amp and the pedal, no post eq, recorded with an Epiphone les Paul with a Duncan distortion in the bridge
@@Metalicker69 Thanks for the reply. I missed out on grabbing one of these by an hour. Sad face lol
@@Gornflyin definitely worth trying one out and messing with it, get great tones all around
@@Metalicker69 the one I missed out on was only a grand. Next best one I can find is an extra $500.....but the search is on lol

Wow;) 6l6 version?
Yup 6l6 version
why is there no bass guitar in this? wait…
We in effects loop?
Yes!
harsh sounding
Ye probably recording with an iPhone isn't exactly the best way for capturing a tone, it makes it all so squished like the worst Metalzone would do.
Wtf happened to your eq sliders lmfao
When I bought the amp it was missing a couple of those knobs
@@Metalicker69 fair enough I was confused because the sliders looked empty lol
@@MetalliDay no they are still usable lol
