Washer is damaged at the spray end. What size washer should I get? Is it 3/4 inch?

  • @wilf15592

Nice vid. The bidet hose that you replaced is not intended to withstand high pressure though, its not the wire mesh reinforced/armoured type. If there's no waist-level faucet to operate to shut off the water supply, which enables you to drain out the water in the bidet hose by squirting remaining water out, then the pressure in the hose cannot be relieved and is always there long-term. This reduces the longevity of the bidet hose especially if a normal ring-reinforced shower hose is used instead of the heavier duty wire mesh reinforced one. The wire mesh one is more unergonomic to hold though

Thanks for your contri! You are right. Most hoses comply to EN1113 standards of max 3-5 BAR of dynamic water pressure. Most singapore households have between 1.2 to 2 bar of static pressure. Which is well within the rating of the chain hose. That said, EN 1113 does state that the hose should not be under constant pressure and the bidet should be shut off at the tap when not in use.
Lots of words, simply saying turn off the bidet at the wall!

@@ThePunggolHandyMan sir I used my bidet for a long time to clean my bathroom floor, does this equate to high pressure with caused it to leak right after? Thank you

What if I just want to get rid of the Bidet? Do I have to put some cover on the tap to block the water coming out?

Pressure is low because sand got into the sprayer cartridge. Any advice for taking out the cartridge? It doesn't want to budge.

You can do a back flush. Force the water from the front of the bidet out the back

    • @wilf15592

You could check if there's a waist-level faucet to operate to shut off the water supply, which enables you to drain out the water in the bidet hose by squirting remaining water out. This relieves pressure in the hose and will certainly prolong the life of your bidet hose.

Maybe you can try 2 washers and see if that works. If not your bidet is cracked somewhere

That’s all? Just replace the hose? I thought you were actually going to show us how to replace the washer and/O-ring in the part of the hose that connects to the bidet spray-head! And btw, it’s pronounced as “bee-day”, not “bee-det”! 😂😂😂

@@ThePunggolHandyMan i've tried 2 different hoses now. still leaks. the water pressure is quite strong. i've turned it down to the minimum to wear the both the bidet and toilet still works but still leaking. going to try to double up on the washer. any other recommendation? i dont have an extra valve to relieve the pressure and drain the bidet after each use. that would pretty annoying to do each time as well.
