I learned in public speaking to say the same thing a second time in a different way. It drives the point home and it makes sure there’s no misinterpretation of the idea.
I appreciate the compliance of this test with actual scientific method. You tested 1 variable (stat outcomes from breeding), No additional variables in the mix (same set of parents) and a sufficient enough sample size to draw conclusions. You then confirmed the results with a 2nd identical test using a different type of pal. This is useful data instead of the conjecture or flawed experiments I see everywhere else.
Nah you where right i switched my jourmantides to 2 traits each and got all 4 traits within 5 eggs after previously going through almost 200 with 3 on each. I appreciate your time and effort to help us all.
I have been fighting trying to get mine to have 1 trait I need, both parents have a trait that matches and the others will pass down just fine, but this 1 trait just will not pass with the others.
Reddit told me that the melee stat is unused code left over from Craftopia, so only the ranged atk matters. This could be why the inherited melee IVs are inconsistent
I love the non-intro intro. Thanks for the explanation. Hopefully the devs will make it not so random in the future. On the other hand, it is kinda nice not to have to worry about TV/IV inheritance, on top of passing down the passive skills/Traits.
Trying to hit the like button on every video to this Chanel to help. Huge fan of the OG channel and wanna say thank you for spending your time doing this.
I had been struggling for days to get my Pals with the perfect passives for me until I watched all your breeding videos. I now have three pals with perfect passives in a single day or playing. (My egg hatch speed is down to 1 in world settings.) Thank you for all of your hard work!!!
Seeing you starting to cover this game, i told myself FINALLY another game where the guy wont just do top 10 random facts you can figure by yourself but just tryhard infodump on a random specific feature of the game to cover it at max potential, keep up the good work pal ! red berries for you today
I’m so glad you branched out and gave this game a try , I have just shared your Chanel with my discord group so they can’t stay up to day with all the best and most straightforward info ! Found you with pokemon, still here on the world of pals !
aight. my take away is exactly 1 thing: as long as there is no ranking or ladder in the game: dont bother IV-breeding. that being said, the vid was very interesting and hats off to you and your production value! the thing about 2+2 trait pals was something i had concluded from my own pal breeding but it certainly is reassuring to see it in writing
I haven't even fully engaged in the breeding mechanics yet, thank you for these videos! You're the man! Don't listen to that Austin John Plays guy, this is your time to shine 🤣
Hey Austin John thanks for making these videos covering Palworld! I saw a comment that someone made referencing this video in Blahable's Hidden IV thread. Blahable responded to it with an evaluation of your data from this video that I think you might really want to take a look at. The TLDR is he found breeding IVs to have better odds than what was concluded here. I was able to find it quickly by clicking on comments in his profile. I apologize that I don't have a better way to contact you, but I figured you would want to be aware of this information.
Great video and thank you for the tests! Regarding the melee attack not being passed down, the modder of Pal Info said that melee attack is basically not used for anything in the game and shot/ranged attack is the actual attack value of the pal. All of my testings pretty much correlate with the results in the video. I was lucky enough to get a 100/100/100 IV pal and once I started breeding it, relatively often the offspring would inherit one of those IV values, regardless of what the other parent has. The other times when no inheritance occured, the IV was completely random and had no relation with the average IV of the parents, as many people were saying.
You are such a great creator! UA-cam seems to be pushing shorts like crazy to compete with TikTok - might be worth it to condensed some of these into bite-size shorts :-) I love that you’re covering on Nintendo games now, too, and can’t wait to keep watching your videos
10:15 I may be misunderstanding, but I’m pretty sure this conclusion is wrong. It looks like from the data, EACH parent has a 30% chance to pass down their stats, with a random mutation happening only 40% of the time. The parents combined rate of passing down their stats is 60%, or in other words, 60% of the time, the offspring inherits one of the two stat values from their parents, and the other 40% of the time the result is random. This should mean it’s a lot easier than the conclusion suggests to pass down max 100% stat values if both parents have the same stat maxed.
It's nice that you have the patience to do these tests. Since there is a decent chance the child will get the IV's from one of the parents, combining parents to keep getting good IV's seems like a good way to improve. Because once you get the traits needed, looks really random to get the IV's you want and keep the traits, I think going the other way around is the way to go. I think most optimal way is to keep breeding until you get a male and a female, both with good IV's and each with 2 of the desired traits. I think perfect start would be 1 pal with each of the 4 desired traits, 2 male, 2 female. I would combine both pairs in parallel until I get from each of the pair a male from one side, a female from the other with good IV's and the 2 traits and nothing else. For each pair: - if a pal has only one of the traits, check his IV's (probably have to level him up to 10 or something). If the IV's are better and the sex is a match, switch it in for the one with the worse IV's. - if a pal has both of the traits, check his IV's. If they are good enough he is a candidate for the second phase. but keep breeding until the other pair also has a good candidate and of the opposite sex. You never know if you don't get a better one until then. Once you have both base pals with good IV's and two traits each, start making sweet babies until you get what you want. If you can afford it, run in parallel the base ones as well. You never know when you get a better one for your combo, or you might get a second pair to breed. The more breeding you can run in parallel, the less time you spend until you get your perfect pal. The time in between breeding can be spent making cakes so you can have more breeding in paralel. You could have a base dedicated to breeding only, a base dedicated to only making cakes and the first base being your good for everything base. None of the breeding will be lost anyways as it will go into the condenser at the end. I would only do this for my preferred battle pal, maybe 2 battles pals at most. I don't think IV's are worth the hassle for the running pals.
As statistics goes, probably a greater sample size would even the statistics and show (maybe) a low, yet consistent, 100 inheritance. Nice job btw! Love your didactics/explanation skills Have a good one, everybody ❤
I don't know who said your wrong, they clearly don't watch Austin John..... You've always done loads of research, tests, collect data for as long as I remember! Love your videos man!❤
Smartest Palword channel on the internet. Congrats for you work and all the "debunk" you are making. It's really appreciated and you defenitvly deserve more follower for sure. Great work and great videos, thanks a lot. Cheers from France
Wait, a new Austin John Plays Channel that's making content for Palworld?? The best dream ever, been following you ever since the release of Pokemon Legends Arceus, very fantastic and detailed videos!
Great video, this and the trait passing vid helped me with a lot. Glad i found your channel, and im also very glad that this vid was made with impatient gamepass players like myself in mind, hope you get monetized soon.
This helped me not waste my time trying to breed 24 perfect base Anubis with 4 traits. Those odds are atrocious for Huge eggs without tweaking server settings.
I didn't post a comment on the last video but I just wanted to say thank you for the previous advice about breeding down ability's. It has been invaluable help which has allowed me to breed some dope mount pals today. Ignore the haters. I've never known you to be wrong.
Love the content man. A lot of the other gaming channels are run by hyper weirdos cutting random screams into the video or somebody from a former Russian satellite country I can barely understand. You saved us all from that fate.
"Do you have any idea how long it takes to get this footage!?" *Me remembering my 1st ever video, being about palworld, and it took me 10 hours to write the script, get the footage, put it together, edit, review, and upload.* Yeah I felt that one deeply
It's also worth noting that wild caught Alphas typically have a lot more HP, so even without breeding and perfecting them, they have better survivability and are generally better for combat, even without passives for attack and defense.
Can you do a test on what the threshold would be for a normal pal to be better than an Alpha version? I assume if you bred a Pal to have all the absolute best passives then that could easily be better. What if you caught an alpha with a couple of really solid passives though, and just wanted to run with that instead of doing TONS of breeding to have a normal version with enough passives to be better. I'm currently doing this with Mossanda Lux. I'm catching alpha versions while breeding up a bunch of feeders. I'm hoping I just get a really good Alpha in the meantime but I wondered if I happen to get a really good normal version would it actually be better than an alpha.
“There’s people with Xbox game pass watching, and those aren’t patient people.” Omg this is so true! Lmao. I was just about to skip forward to get to the good part.
The austin john plays and austin john gaming collab was unexpected
That was not a collab, that was the beginning of a beef saga.
Wanna know why I like AustinJohn tutorials? Because he talks to me like I'm dumb, and I appreciate that

Don't listen to that other AustinJohn. We appreciate all your hard work and commitment to truthful, accurate, refined and premium information.

Austin John is basically Professor Elm. His expertise is vastly but breeding is his expertise.

I loved how meta the intro was ❤ I love the extra effort/personality in the little ways you add to your edits
Wow thank you for the time save! Instead of starting an seemingly endless grind i now switched to "nah not worth it, passives is enough"
Reddit told me that the melee stat is unused code left over from Craftopia, so only the ranged atk matters. This could be why the inherited melee IVs are inconsistent
huh that would make a lot of sense
I’m glad there’s a reasonable explanation for this. I wasn’t ready to believe that PAL attacks were categorized as melee or ranged.
@@dlvarcade9729makes total sense tho. You want special attacks and physical attacks. And defenses that walls either of the two types.
@@AntilleanConfederationwhy do we want that? The game doesn’t need to be just like pokemon. I like that it’s not like that. Much more simple
