In this episode we are staying in our East Neuk Campervan at one of favourite caravan sites in Scotland, Dalraddy Holiday Park, on the Alvie Estate near to Aviemore. It's January and the winter takes a turn for the worse with extreme temperatures. We make a crucial mistake, which could have been catastrophic consequences. Van Life in Scotland is beautiful, but we learned we need to be prepared!

This campervan allows us the freedom of travelling in all seasons, we actually do most of our travelling in the Autumn/Winter as I have lupus disease | SLE | We stay on campsites & caravan touring parks, Aires & wild camp out in nature. We like to walk | hike with our cocker spaniel dog "Charlie" taking in breathtaking scenery of the countryside and the coast. There is something so magical about driving through the mountains and tourist areas in a campervan. Buying local produce to take back and cook in the campervan, or stopping at an independent shop for coffee and cake helping to support the local economy. There was an Asian kitchen here, so that's what we had last night. Tasty it was too.
Bracken certainly is enjoying chasing the bunnies but I think he forgets he's getting old. I don't think he'd know what to do if he caught one 🤔
We're here for 3 nights then heading to Pitlochry.

We loved Dalraddy a lot and will definitely be returning again hopefully soon.

Beautiful scenery in your video. We have camped with Smirf at minus 6 in France which is the point that the grey waste freezes. The fresh water tank starts to freeze at minus 10. We experienced minus 12 at Chatsworth last year and fortunately we were on electric hookup and managed to keep the pump running. We are cowards. We didn’t hang around, we moved south on both occasions to warmer temperatures. Loved seeing the winter scenes, we soon forget how beautiful the frost and snow looks. We have no plans yet for next winter. Unusual for us but I am sure we will think of something 😃🚐💙 Trev

Hi Shaz, it was strange, cos the campsite was always snowy, but the roads were fine. Apart from when we were driving back from defrosting the tank & over the time of about 40 mins it just settled on the roads too!
