A bit different to our usual style of video, as bad weather up in Scotland stopped play. We had an enjoyable few days at South Valleyfield Caravan Site (link below) with Bob & Aileen McKay and @BobEarnshawMoHo We didn't film anything as we have been there many times and it was nice to just have a relaxing time. You join us driving back in our East Neuk Campervan from Ballater to Perthshire for a family meet. We then drive through the Cairngorms to Tomintoul Bowling Club (link in description) and were lucky enough to see a Snowbow or white rainbow. We survived storm debi without too much rocking of the van. We had to do some laundry and as there wasn't many caravan parks open during the winter months, we head back to Ballater Caravan Park to get the chores done and spend a lovely few nights there. We also had the pleasure of meeting Craig from @kingingit who were pitched there too. We try a new coffee van hack, but was it a fail?

This campervan allows us the freedom of travelling in all seasons, we actually do most of our travelling in the Autumn/Winter as I have lupus disease | SLE | We stay on campsites & caravan touring parks, Aires & wild camp out in nature. We like to walk | hike with our cocker spaniel dog "Charlie" taking in breathtaking scenery of the countryside and the coast. There is something so magical about driving through the mountains and tourist areas in a campervan. Buying local produce to take back and cook in the campervan, or stopping at an independent shop for coffee and cake helping to support the local economy. Never seen a snowbow before, that was lovely. We are old enough to remember Mellow Birds 😉 Just goes to show you can relax in a campervan when it’s cold outside. Thanks for sharing your travels ❤

Sweep, our collie/whippet cross, has a thing for shoes. He always tries to greet visitors with a shoe and often wanders about with one in his mouth. If shoes aren't available he settles for a rolled up pair of socks.

@@vansforthememories I'm about a month off getting out in the van. What with shingles still playing up (get the vaccinations if you get the chance), selling my Mom's house and the family holiday in Galloway, the beach hut refurb is dragging on a bit but should be all over in a fortnight. Then it's just tidy the garden a bit, do a few jobs in the house and fit the new rooflight on the van (thanks to a kamikaze pigeon) and then we can be away. Hopefully, we can start with the east coast of Scotland and then do the Inner Hebrides early in June.

Yes, apparently it’s quite a rare phenomenon too 😎 It’s our favourite time of year to go out in the van 🚐🤭 Summers can be quite difficult for me to manage, with my lupus. (As much as I’d love it not to be the case) Yes, do mention the coffee bags, they’re really good when you follow instructions 😂 You can get different strengths too & also decaffeinated, just bought some today as we are on travels. Site looked nice. Glorious weather even though it was cold. So cheap at Tomintoul. Would like it there. Love our diesel heater. Looked bloomin’ cold. We do the same with the windows. Aw Charlie 🐶 he knows he shouldn’t do it! Liked the road to Ballater. Remember mellow birds 🤣. Nice that you met Kinging it Thanks for sharing ❤👍😊
It was beautiful weather for a drive, Tomintoul is one of regular places we visit, cheap, but no black waste disposal sadly, but there are toilets to use. (Not for black waste disposal). We love Ballater, the drive there is wonderful 😁 Charlie’s always stealing something 😂 Thanks for watching, Em 💜
Never seen a white rainbow, amazing! We stayed at Blair Castle once, it was quite nice. Expensive if I remember, but it was early September. Why is it dogs nick socks and gloves!! Made me laugh! Lovely video Em x

hiya em! snow is rarely my friend. 😁 i'm not sure i'd ever heard of a snowbow before. had to google it. we're having pork pot pies (i don't know why we call them pot pies, rather than just pies) for dinner tonight as it's rainy with a chill. always blame the inside "wind" on the dog. good call. best to you, gary, and charlie! 🛴❤

Never seen a snowbow before or even heard of one. Great to see though. Ha ha ha, Charlie with your gloves.😂 Beautiful scenery on the drive. I don't do coffee, it's gross stuff. I remember Mellow Birds. My Mom and Dad used to have Camp coffee and when I make coffee and walnut cake, I put Camp coffee in it. I've always got cheese and crackers in the campervan lol.

@@vansforthememories it's a liquid coffee with chicory and is a really old fashioned coffee, but you can still get it. If we ever arrange a meet, I'll make a cake lol.

When in doubt and the subject is wind always blame the dog, Tomintoul no longer allows black water disposal.
Haha always blame the dog 😅 I don’t think they ever had a provision for black waste, certainly not over the last 2 years anyway. Would be handy if they did 😁 Em 💜
@@vansforthememories They used to allow use of the Disabled toilet but not anymore. Someone messed up, literally I guess.
