So happy to have been able to witness this weapon during the Étape du Tour. Great quick chat with you Tristan, in the last kilometres of the Col de la Couillole, you were so nice with me ! I hope to see you again on the roads ! Cheers, Colin
Bought a set of Assiomas at the start of this year, best thing I've done in all my years on the bike. Data coupled with a HRM, the power readings completely know whether you should be on a hard or easy day within 10 minutes of being out on the road.
Just got myself a red Teammachine recently as well! Been loving the ride and it's just a treat to look at. At size 58 I can only dream of that weight though 😅
Great build as usual Tristan, so happy to follow your videos! The black and white slr01 will surely be missed ~ send it my way (jk). Appreciate all your videos and can't wait for the next one, cheers mate!
Awesome bike. I would love to hear a review of the Craft wheels after you used them for a while. I am always afraid that these lightweight wheels arent durable
At the moment i'm just training on the bike, my next big block of racing won't be until later in the year, but i'll most likely swap to S TR's for that period.
as a fairly new cyclist only 5 years now i don’t understand why we don’t weigh bikes with pedals as they are part of the a bike without them we are stuck. just curious
Nice job, Tristan. I'll take inspiration from your video, my Bianchi - Specialissima 2022 (weight: 7,5 kg.) urgently need to loose weight, I put it on a strict diet🤣🤣🤣. First of all, I need to lighten the rotating masses, that is, mainly rims, tires, inner tubes, brake discs. Finally, if I still have something left to spend, I will move on to replace the crankset (the 12V Dura-Ace cassette is ok, at the moment), perhaps switching to a single chainring. Am I wrong?
Yeah I think that's a great way to do it - rotating mass first, based on budget. Often lighter tires will help make a bike feel lighter as they have lower rolling resistance, and it's easy to save a lot of rotating mass in the tubes by going latex or TPU over butyl. Wheels are the most expensive upgrade but are most noticeable usually. Carbon cranks are a good way to shave a few hundred grams as well, but i'd stick with a dual chaining setup, personally...weight saving shouldn't override practicality.
top of the line, wow, the only thing I would change would be the disc rotors, why, cause the Shimano Dura-Ace/Ultegra rotors have a aluminum core for heat dissipation, then again you're lightweight so maybe not an issue.
Yeah, for very long descents, the Dura-Ace rotors have less brake fade than the Galfer's, but I haven't found it a huge issue for me so far. Maybe i'll go back in future.
I wonder how tall are you?? I am 177cm and the Q-factor increase using the Favero-Shi impacted my knees badly, and switched to the normal Favero instead
@@ekm3820 For flat terrain, i'd go the slightly deeper versions. These are great for climbing but the more aero 50mm or 60mm versions will be quicker on the flat for not too much of a weight penalty.
@@tristantakevideo ufff . I stand corrected. I should have known better than to question your thoroughness. Thank you Tristan. I am inspired (to build up a climber's bike)
Impressive weight! China sells carbon cranks, you could run 53/39 and save 130g. I don't think they make 54/40, and I don't think they make 165 either (you can choose between 170 and 170, afaik). So I guess DA it is for you :)
True. Panda Podium have carbon cranks around half the weight of the Dura-Ace, and they have them in 165mm and 54/38, so maybe that needs to be my next purchase...
I think my bike is lighter ... at least if we only look at the relative weight of the bike compared to the rider's weight. And my bike is pretty heavy compared to this one 😞
"How did I get my bike's weight down to a non-impressive number? I just threw lots of money at it, bought some parts that I won't describe further (like through-axles), and that's it." I like your videos, how you structure your communication, and obviously your magic with videos (for a lack of better English). This bike and this video however, are completely uninteresting. We have seen countless bikes that are good because they are expensive and for a few years now, we have seen bikes that were good despite being cheap. But it all comes down to lego for grown-ups: Choose some parts that get clicks (like a frameset for 4k €, or some "spicy" chinese parts that get the discussion rolling). Where is the real innovation? Where are the people tricking out their bikes with ingenuity and some craftsmanship?! And what really disappoints me is the final message with a tone of 'thanks for supporting me, otherwise I could not make a video about someone else building up my bike with sponsored parts and lots of money' -.- Let me reiterate: I will keep watching and liking your videos. You can do better than this, though

Thanks man. Great to meet you out there! Video from the event is coming very soon...
Epic Tristan, love this
Best cycling video’s online. He’s the reason I found Girona -Thank you.

Next to actually buying my bike, my Assioma’s were my second best investment…
What a beauty bike new BMC 👍👍
I am not a fan of red in general but I'm LOVING the matched bars. Bravo

Super cool bike. Despite all the great features I gotta admit my favourite bit is that computer mount!
It's pretty cool hey?
I'm very happy for you. And I think, no doubt you deserve it.
Thanks so much. Really appreciate it!
Good job, mate! Love that bike. Hopefully BMC will crank out a few more frames in a size 61 at some point!
Great build, curious why you went with all season/winter tires?
scratches on group set == weight savings 🙂

Nice build! Heavy tires though :D with the str you would save easy 150g
True. I reckon i'll swap to S TR for my next big block of racing.
Amazing looking machine mate 🤩🤩🤩
No doubt you’re gonna SMASH some serious numbers on it🥰
great video, love the detail, thanks for sharing and hope you win soon on her
Just a tip. Stock Shimano lockrings for the disc rotors will shave off some grams
Definitely dreamy
The lines of that bike are 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Such a good video
Thanks man 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Stunning bike 💯
Maybe you can use shimano "s center lock hub, the Galfer "s is heavier
Nice work!
Lovely build! ❤
Thanks mate!

NICE!
Nice build 👌🏻🚵🏻
Love the look of these aero handlebars unfortunately I can’t find any stock in Australia
I will copy a bit of all that build to build my Sworks sl7 !
💪🏻💪🏻
Lil tip if you run the teammachine R bottle cages they save 0.04 grams over the teammachine SLR01 bottle cagez

14.44 pounds for us North Americans, not bad for a disc road bike, awesome build!

Why the AS TR tires? A good bit slower than the S TR
Was wondering about that, too
Good advice. Maybe something I need to look into...
You need to get your mate Ben back onto the BMC
Nice bike, but what's matter, are the legs...
I'm on...
Cheers from Portugal 🇵🇹 Sintra ☀️ 👊🏼
Any reason you went with gp5k all season over regular gp5k?
Very nice build, one question, how much weight had the shimano dura ace brake disc had for you to switch to galfer brake disc?
I haven't weighed the Dura-Ace discs and I didn't switch to Galfer for the weight, but I think the Dura-Ace would be lighter.
I wonder how tall are you?? I am 177cm and the Q-factor increase using the Favero-Shi impacted my knees badly, and switched to the normal Favero instead
I'm 172cm. I did notice the difference during the first couple of rides but didn't have any pain or issues.
Weight savings of this bike are in the wheelset. They are light. Good build👍🏾
Definitely. They make a huge difference.
@@tristantakevideohow are the wheels so far? Will you recommend it for flat terrain?

@@tristantakevideo Thanks for the quick reply.
Could save another 100g by going with a Cybrei Carbon Crankset over at Panda Podium :)
As always, VERY beautiful bike!
it really looks like a weapon!
Time for tubeless and waxed chain goodness mate!
Weighed in WITHOUT the pedals. I think that is worth mentioning. So WITH PEDALS would be 6,8Kg. Not bad for a disc brake bike.
I wrote the weight with pedals on the screen at 10:14, under the weight without.
@@tristantakevideo ufff . I stand corrected. I should have known better than to question your thoroughness. Thank you Tristan. I am inspired (to build up a climber's bike)
Damn bud. Thats light. You can probably drop 200g if you get thm cranks
For sure. Maybe even 250-300g which would be cool.
And the Total Price? :)
i am 164cm and my saddle height is also 68.5cm maybe my leg is too long.

Thanks for the feedback.
man these wheels look weiiiiiird
It's not exactly rocket science, just buy any top tier frameset, slap on dura ace and carbon climbing wheels, and you got a 6.x kg bike
Who claimed it's rocket science?
