Kaavan looks so much more rested, at peace...like he knows he will never be harmed again. Thank you all for this, THANK YOU so much. And as much as Cher has accomplished and done in her life (btw, if you're ever curious about all her professional awards, humanitarian achievements, music, television & media success, look her up...she's pretty bad a$$) stuff like this makes me love AND respect her 1000 times more. So glad Kaavan has a real family and is surrounded with 1001 reasons to relax & have a ball. 1000 🤗's to Kaavan!!
The feat of bringing this lonely elephant to sanctuary was a monumental task, and I applaud 4Paws for their vision, funding and pushing in every way possible to make Kaavan a happy and content elephant. I cried a bit through the film, and just want to thank ever single person who was there to make it all happen. Special kudos to Dr. Amir Khalil for giving Kaavan the chance to be his friend, and get his second chance.
Also a shout out for help is the little lone female elephant held in a concrete cell in paphos zoo Cyprus. Disgusting that these beautiful, sentient and social animals are legally allowed to be kept in zoos. Please help her.
Unfortunately we do not have the resources to be active everywhere, although we do our best to help as many animals as possible. We receive similar reports about animals in terrible conditions on a regular basis and are sadly not always able to help. We are dependent on contacts and authorities in the respective region too. In order to work sustainably we have to focus on certain projects. You can read more about our topics and current campaigns on our website: www.four-paws.org/campaigns-topics Thank you for your understanding! Best, the FOUR PAWS team
@@FOURPAWSInternational I understand and you all do such a wonderful job. Maybe you have some contacts in the Mediterranean area that maybe could help. Thank you for your reply.
He never will forget the good dr. Amir. Thank you, dear and beautiful Cher, good people of Cambodia, mr. Derrick and his fantastic wife, mr. Pedro Vela ... But dr. Amir didn't sing the Sinatra song to Kaavan... We love the gentle Kaavan. Other ellies, other animals need the Four Paths help. A Nobel, please, for them. Not war, do the life survive .
Kavaan was very lucky to have people stand up and get him free!! Made me very happy for Kavaan to remember his old friend! What a beautiful reunion! Love you Kavaan.
It's so good to see Kaavan doing so well and he obviously recognises Dr Amir, which is lovely to see. Dr Amir makes my heart flutter as well Kaavan, so I know how you feel. It's just wonderful to see Kaavan thriving at last after such a lonely, bleak life. Thank you Four Paws. 🙏🐘💕💕 Penny from Christchurch. 🇬🇧
MERCI de nous donner des nouvelles de KAAVAN, cet éléphant venu dr très loin, il souffrait dans un zoo, un sauvetage magnifique , nous l'avons suivi merci è tous docteur , CHER !!ok!....
All the Four Paws teams are truly amazing, and Dr Amir Khalil is a great and highly skilled leader. He is a role model. Thank you all a million times for what you do.
Magnificent presentation of my Friend Kaavan. You are progressing so well. Thanks to all who care for this "Gentle Giant ". Until next time my Friend Kaavan. You are truly loved. Your Friend Mark.
2 days after my Can't wait comment & here I am 😢😣 of course lol. Don't know who I love more? Kavaan or Dr Amir!!! How lovely to see how he greeted the man who helped save him ♡ SO good to see you again handsome boy Kaavan. You look a m a z i n g ☆☆☆
Id sure love to see more young girls from this country " rescued" out of the sex slsvery industry. Im sure it cost a small fortune to aquire this animal snd will continue to cost alot just to feed thid beast. I wonder how many young girls could have been saved instead? Its awful the horrific things these poor girls are subjected too. It seems though our screwed up priorities make rescuing this field beast so much more important. Sickening actually. Us Americans are particularly guilty of these warrped priorities of putting the welfare of these wild animals ovet that of human children. SMH
@MagicsMoney-uv1de First of all, elephants are not beasts. They are gentle giants that have been treated cruelly for as long as man has been around. They are sentient beings which means they have the ability to perceive and show awareness or responsiveness. They feel pain, have a level of awareness and cognitive ability. All elephants should be free to live in peace in their natural environment w/o fear of being killed for their tusks or shackled like criminals. Yes there are many causes that money can be used for, to improve someone's life, however, there are millions who do donate to organizations that help children, single mothers, families etc. Animals are not inferior to humans because they have sentience just as (some) humans do!
Everyone who cares about Kaavan, needs to support the release of Lucy from the Edmonton Zoo in Canada. She is alone there and very unhealthy. She needs to be in a warm place with other elephants. Multiple sanctuaries are willing to take her. Edmonton will not let her go.
So happy to see Kaavan again! Few videos are available and not often!! Would love to see him at least once or twice a month! Hoping he's not lonely and why hasn't he been allowed to be with the females??
We´ve been so happy too! Kaavan is doing great! Yes, Kaavan is still alone in his enclosure, but not lonely anymore as he is interacting regularly with the female elephants as the fencing is done in a way that they can touch and communicate with each other. We hope that at one point, when the elephants are ready, they can be socialized and that Kaavan can share an enclosure with a female partner. Best, the FOUR PAWS team
Merci,Docteur Khalil , d’être revenu voir Kavan. Il y a eu tant de travail pour lui donner son "paradis". 🎉. Merci à tous ceux qui ont participé à cette oeuvre.❤.
I wish we could have more videos and footage of Kavaan and all the animals who have had high profile rescues. We are chomping at the bit to see more and hear more. How come Kavaan is still on his own? Is he showing aggression towards other elephant's? I know in the beginning there was alot talk about him sharing space with a female elephant but that wasn't working out. I haven't seen anything since. Will he ever be able to be with other elephants? These some questions I'm sure we all would love to know. But, at the end of the day. In glad to see Kavaan relaxed and that he now has much more space to roam. Thankyou to the sponsors and to all who make ALL the rescues a possibility. We MUST get stricter laws in place against animal trafficking and say no to zoos. So that one day eventually there will be no animals in captivity and it will ne as it should be. We also need to protect these precious areas where these animals call home. We all know better these days, so why are we not *doing* better? Argh!
Hi, thanks for getting in touch. Yes, Kaavan is still alone in his enclosure, but not lonely anymore as he is interacting regularly with the female elephants as the fencing is done in a way that they can touch and communicate with each other. Just watched this last night, well done to all involved with this Project, how could anyone treat an animal like this and think it's ok is beyond belief, am so glad that you lovely People came along, not forgetting one of my favourite singers cher big thank you lass, big hi from Bonnie Scotland ❤
Such a beautiful story animal's make us better people we need them and to respect that they need to be in their own environment God Bless all with love from Ireland 🇮🇪
Great work thank you! 🐘 Should add another rescue elephant or two in there instead of as a singleton. Elephants are highly social and live in herds. They’re most comfortable that way. You can see them trying to connect. Please give them some friends to roam with. God Bless 🙏
Okay..I watched this video..AGAIN! On what we in the U.S. call "Thanksgiving? Here in India, lot of wild elephants facing problems from humans. Last month a group of people from Kerala poached a wild elephant and buried after taking the tusks...
Although bonding with a new elephant would be very beneficial for his wellbeing, Kaavan and the other elephants at the Cambodia Wildlife Sanctuary did not connect well - therefore he is still in a separate enclosure. However, he can see other elephants and touch them through the fence.

Kaavan looks so good. Happy for him. He also has the most beautiful eyes.
He seemed like he remembered. Elephants are incredibly smart and don't forget who treated them kindly. He looks very happy and healthy. 💜
Its been several months since we have seen Kaavan!! good to see ole boy again.usa.........................................
I love this short story. Kaavan won the lottery. Great Vet became to know him, arranged for a longer life in a peaceful place. Beautiful.
You did a fabulous job by releasing him. Animals don't deserve to live in zoos or captivity. They deserve to live in their natural habitat.
God's bless animals.

Elephants have great memory. He definitely remembers the first person befriended him and won his trust back then. Happy re-union! Love to Kavaan
