Great video man, im trying to change my lo beam bulb but the screws in the triangular pattern have stripped any advice or thoughts? Should I try to tap and die it or is it better for me to just bring it to a shop
Can't you just open the guard plate under the hood to access the headlight bulb? If replacing the actual headlight ballast I see why you would take it out obviously, but you can access the bulb without taking anything apart and screwing up your headlight alignment.
Try craigslist. Also, if you wanted to get different wheels I'd suggest getting BBS, even though they are expensive, they look great on BMW's especially E30's

Thank you for the tips! Saved me a lot of time. One word of advice, it is usually a good idea to replace both low beam lights when they go out.

Hey on my '85 318i, there aren't those three screws on the bezel. Any explanation for that? It's a euro model if that makes any difference.

Can you tell me how to literally plug in the bulb itself? like what do you do between 2:51 - 2:53 ? help would be appreciated .
It gets plugged in by wires (black and white) and then the bulb is held down by a clip.
I fixed it by getting the whole lamp itself for 10, it wasn;t clear in the beginning now figured out thanks anyway

RitualFitness There is no "bulb" on the earlier E30s, the sealed beam glass is the "bulb". Kinda old school right?

Mask off the chrome and spray with plastic black spray paint

God Forbid your high beams get busted , a lot more complicated
