- The West Cherry river was dropping hard and so we rallied over to get it before the water dropped completely and I would have to wait another year to get it. We put on with a nine person crew and seven first timers, myself included. Captain Dane did an insane job of remembering the lines and bombing everyone down the river. With filming it took us a solid chunk of time just to get the Graceland slide done and after that we had to push pretty hard to make it to the bottom of the river before dark. Fair play to John Grace for getting the first descent of that crazy slide back in the day, that thing dished out a couple or crazy lines throughout our session.
Honestly so impressed with this river, there are so many sick rapids to kayak down and a couple of bigger sets in there as well. My favourite part was the gorge towards the end at the confluence. Those rapids were so cool and it's a different vibe dropping into powerful rapids when you're tired. I loved it!

If I lived closer I'd totally join you all. Im in OR and some of the best spots I found I had to hike my kayak in to. I just don't have a group to kayak with unfortunately, but I love being on the water!

Incredible job on another video, Bren. That was a full day for sure. I don't kayak any of this kind of stuff so just wondering if this is actually as dangerous as it looks or at least more dangerous then the regular river craziness I see you do? I would think having that rock so close all the way would lead to less control and bigger consequences if flipping. Amazing job by all and nice job on the video.

I mean it’s the same as everything to get to the point where you feel confident kayaking down these rapids requires lots of little baby steps and small increases in skill and judgement. Each style of rapid or waterfall carries its own risks and maybe I will make an edit in the future talking about them all so you have some more insight into it

Working hard to get the licenses but god it's hard and takes up so much time, not sure it's entirely worth it yet but going to keep trying! Makes such a difference being able to use music I actually listen to
