It’s complete bull that Apple didn’t just put the 80% charge limit option on ALL current iPhones! They could absolutely at least add the option for the 13 and 14 models.
Agree 100%...i suppose its another way for them to force us to upgrade to latest models. Setup a couple of shortcuts..one to alert you when it gets to 40%...another to alert you when it gets to 80%. It's what I use for my 13PM.

I had the same situation 5 months in on iP 14 pro. It started to degrade at around 6th or 7th month of usage. Right now it’s been around year and a half, and it’s on 93% with 262 cycles

Interesting how all you tubers tell us for years you can charge your phone like you want and fast chargers..etc won't affect battery health. Now that Apple has a setting that limits it to 80% it's worth considering. I've only charged between 40 and 80%..no fast or wireless charger and my 17 month old 13pm battery is at 100%
I've had my iPhone 11 for almost 3 years, battery health is still at 90%(started dropping 11 months after purchase), but due to charging issues with iOS 17, i had to turn off charging optimization cause with it it wouldn't charge properly despite the same charging pattern it's been following for 2 years

Nah you’ll be alright. The phone will slowly trickle power into the battery to not degrade it. One of the main thing you should be careful of is excessive heat. Try not to fast charge your phone too much.
Awesome Video. I’m still at 100 % but I‘ve only charged the 15 Pro Max 68 times. I only use it between 80-40% with the 80% Limit charging feature. I even only charge it with the old white 5 Watt Apple charger. Doesn’t work even when you puppy the phone with 80 percent cap. Mine at 99% and more now I don’t care about it. With the WiFi problem I feel like buying the s24 ultra.
Why would you only want to utilize 80% of your battery when all that’s going to do is save you 2 maybe 3% battery health per year when a battery replacement is only 100 bucks, it makes no sense.
Six months in my iPhone 14 Pro was at 99% battery health after one year it was at 90% but that’s very very, very heavy usage. my 15 Pro Max currently has 71 charge cycles and battery health is at 100%. No I do not use the 80% option and I mostly charge via MagSafe.
My phone was manufactured in July 20 23 and first used in September 2023, which would be my 15 Pro Max. I am at 100% battery with only 82 charge cycles.
I’m into my 16th month as of the 1st of march 2024 and my battery health is at 96% despite charging it at 100% most times. I’m a medium user so I’m guessing that would explain why I get 2 days per charge. I don’t know how many cycles it has been through.
Even my iPhone 7 and my iPhone 8 maintained 100% battery health for six full months before it dropped but my iPhone 14 I bought in June 2023 is down to 99% so I'm certainly not complaining about that
15PM 100% BH 35 Charge Cycles just 3mos old...always with optimization and wireless charge only. I charge my phone when it drops to 19-20%...not a heavy user though.
11 Pro Max and my battery health dropped a couple of days ago. was able to maintain it at 100% from February 13 last year, now it's at 98%. it initially dropped to 99, then it dropped to 98. I bought it 2nd hand, but the previous owner is a relative of mine and she had the battery replaced before selling it.
I use a app called battery where u can set the charging % I set it at 92 it will sound a alarm when it’s at 92% the app has black out line withe a green battery 3 lines and a bolt

A lot of years ago aprox. 6, I made a dep investigation of forums, and the most common information, with people that supposedly work on battery brands and manufacturers, was to keep the battery health for more time, is first not letting your device go less than 20% and second not up to the 80%, with devices like my iPhone 12, I try to disconnect the charger at 90% the battery health was 92% after two years, and now with my iPhone 14 plus I finish my day with 30%, unplugging it by 80% and my battery health is 99% after 8 months.
