    Your channel popped up in my feed recently and I am super happy about it. Been playing your videos while I work/game/clean and I love your narration.
    I travel and explore too, but it's usually destinations by car and countries by plane. Not the way you're doing it, it's eye opening and feels like I just stumbled upon a different point of view.
    I love how your trips feel like true adventures with trials and tribulations. Your adventures aren't full of wine and dine eye catching tourist spots, but more about appreciating the moment, the little things, experiences, nature, and people. Things that we forget during our 9-5 lives.
    Thanks for documenting your trips and I look forward to continue binge watching your videos!

    Hey Kelly... You're doing an outstanding job of filming your hike. It's a perfect balance of the time you feature you on camera and the time you feature the trail on camera. Love the way you showcase the trail and capture the small details as well as the grandiose and the off-trail places too.

    On the trail, when you can say: "We don't know where we are, we're just hiking..." 3:58 means that it really doesn't matter where you are as long as you are "there," where you're so caught up in the present moment that the worries of the past and the fears of the future are, at least for a little while, banished to oblivion and you're lost in the bliss of the present moment. What a wonderful place to be.... even if you don't know where you are.

    Feeling inspired. Just started backpacking this year (Ok, I was in the Army and I did my fair share of hiking...they ruined it for me for way too many years). My goal is to hike the MD section this fall. I suspect I will have done it all by then as individual day hikes but want to do it as a day hike. So I'll continue to follow and perhaps I can link up with you guys when you finally make it up here!!! Keep going!

    Are you allowed to camp anywhere along the trail, or only at designated points? 🤔 assuming the latter since that’s what you’ve been doing!

    • @djg5950
      @djg5950 3 роки тому +2

      People do camp along the trail wherever there's a spot flat enough to set up a tent. If you hike along the trial you will see areas outside of the shelters or actual established camping areas that have bare spots and a fire ring built by someone that stayed there. Usually there is room for one or two tents but sometimes enough room for 3 or 4 tents. Not staying at established campsites is banned in some states and highly discouraged in others. The reason and problem is that if a lot of people use non-established campsites it destroys the wilderness after a while from overuse. Mostly due to not following LNT (leave no trace) principles and leaving garbage behind. That is fairly rare though. Most of the garbage left behind is done at shelters or established camping areas. Hope that helps you to understand that yes, places are available but just leave the area as you found it (or pack out others garbage if you see any). Watch Quicksand On The Trail's videos because he camps at a lot of these places (to be alone) and shows many of them all along the trail.
