The same situation has occurred here at Salome, in La Paz County. Three farms here are owned by companies based in Saudi Arabia. They grow multiple crops of alfalfa every year, which are made into pellets which are then shipped to Saudi Arabia to feed coes in that country. As a result, the water table around Salome has dropped several hundred feet in the past 30 years.
