Hi there! I am Joseph.
I have been an immigrant / expat living in central Portugal along with my beautiful girlfriend Mariana for eight years now.
Together Mariana, my father Clinton and myself, would like to show you a bit of the daily goings on around our Portuguese farm / homestead / smallholding and all of the work we are doing whilst renovating, starting building projects, working with our livestock, DIY and trying to grow our little families own food!

This is one of the few best properties with land that I have seen so far. I would take early retirement and live here if I could!

Another fine property! I was talking with my son about purchasing a small farm in Portugal. I’m 73 and he’s is 49 now and still working. I’m trying to get him interested but so far he only enjoys what he sees and thinks Portugal is beautiful and affordable but he also has some concerns. His biggest concern is being an American who is only English speaking and living in a place where he can’t communicate with anyone. I’m not so bothered by that as I have travelled quite a bit and always managed. Im sure he’s also worried about finding work or even being able to work. He has a good environmental remediation background and can operate most equipment also. However he is still years away from being able to retire. Im basically to old to really do much farm work but fortunately I am financially secure and don’t need to. I was also born in Germany to a German mother so I might have some citizenship rights but updo now never had a reason to pursue it.
So are there any English only speaking people living in Portugal that want to discuss challenges? Being 72 I’m clear minded enough to know i will never speak another language . Medical is another issue. We understand Portugal has good facilities but how affordable are they to foreigners?
i think over 70% of the portuguese speak pretty good english, they are on the highest rank of none native english countries that are able to speak english.

The farm is perfect, an absolute dream, but I must admit to having been surprised by the small kitchen which seems awkwardly placed. I expected to see a larger summer kitchen off the patio, where one could process the abundant harvests and have lovely al fresco dinners with friends.
The farm caretakers do a brilliant job, would they be available to work for the new owners?
And there´s no window in the living room. That´s strange with all that nature to appreciate.

The thick stone walls help to keep houses cooler during the hot summer days, but they also have few windows, making the rooms dark and almost cave-like. Part of the price of this property may have been the cost of the sometimes-convoluted legal process of building or enlarging a habitation on agricultural land in Portugal.

This wonderful property has only one Achille‘s heel, the number of bedrooms. I wonder whether the garage and the additional room can be turned into a two room/one bath area. This property is so well kept. The owner must get help if he is absentee.
The stair case in the kitchen area seems out of place . No place to sit for coffee or a sandwich .

Gorgeous! Close to a village is ideal for us! Cheers from Canada. Please show more like this property with beautiful livable stone house, buildings, water sources 3:03 and orchards. For a warm place to stay for several months each year to escape our Canadian winters😊, return to Canada in summer.

A quinta é magnífica, o existe um problema, a casa é pequena comparada com o tamanho da quinta, só tem um quarto, e uma casa de banho, mesmo que se possa fazer outro quarto em baixo falta uma casa de banho, se a casa tivesse 3 quartos e 2 WC, seria ideal para se morar o ano todo e receber visitas.
Adorei é a primeira vez que comentei nos vossos videos, e adorei a quinta

I would give anything to live here, what a beautiful property. I would open a glamping sight, with yoga, cookery, pottery, jam making, wine making. It would be my absolute dream come true. A petting zoo for the kiddies, cheese making. Oh my somebody throw me a few million quid!
I was hoping that the actual property would be as magnificent as the gardens the land and the pool entertaining area but to be honest was a little disappointed with the cave lounge the tiny kitchen and a master bedroom with no storage.I guess it could be reconfigured incorporating the annex. The quality of finish looks impressive and I guess it’s location and the views are a major plus point.

Dommage seulement une chambre et 'demi' si non c'est superbe! J'étais en vie de demander s'ils vont acheter une maison dans un village médiéval juste après Limoux dans l'Aude mais malheureusement cette maison est trop petite pour nous 😢

I don’t want to be responsible for maintenance and work on a farm when I retire. I want to live in a granny house adjacent to the farm, blessing farmers with my desire for fresh eggs and beef. :)

For us in the US who are not into the metric system, good idea to note the sizes in S.F. Bob in Nevada
I would instal a bath and join both the garage and the room next ot it and make it a kitchen diner. The first room at the entrance, I would paint the walls white. Not happy with the stone showing. Again this is my retirement home.

What is missing are wood chips to put around trees to absorb rain and hold onto water. Where can you buy things to chip.
If I understood correctly there only in Portugal in August someone taking care of all that cleaning up and so On am I missing something? Other wise nice everything the only thing in the winter there must be very cold ,FUNDAO facing Serra Da Estrela.
