- Year of the GS - Discussing the New BMW R 1300 GS Adventure and Its New Technology
That was Reiner Fings, Product Manager for the BMW R 1300 GS Adventure. You may remember hearing him in a previous episode last year, where we discussed the standard R 1300 GS. Hi everyone I’m Shawn Thomas, welcome back to the BMW Motorrad Ride and Talk podcast. BMW Motorrad is calling this “The Year of the GS” for good reason. In all we have seen significant changes in nearly every model in the GS line-up, most notably the F 900 GS, R 1300 GS, and R 1300 GS Adventure. My producer Louise Powers and I met with Reiner during the launch of the new R 1300 GS Adventure, which occurred during BMW Motorrad Days in Garmisch. Today we discuss this newest model, new technologies, and some little known history of the GS. Please be sure to subscribe, like and comment on this and other Ride and Talk episodes, we very much appreciate your continued support! Now lets hear from Reiner Fings about the Year of the GS.

Hello,
When you launch the new models R1300R,RS,RT?
Nicely done Shawn and Louise! These insights from Reiner are a treat! Shawn, I would like to encourage you to make more content that describes products from the engineers view! To hear a engineer or product manager describe what the intended experience is for the rider - on various product features, design decisions, technology, etc. With tips on how we as riders can gain the maximum experience. That's compelling I think - and a different perspective from standard rider reviews. Thank you!!!!
I am 55 and I am open minded and looking forward to test the new gsa 1300 auto shift! If we can trust on fly by wire planes why not on the auto shift technology!👍
I ordered a Multistrada today!I Hope that designer is fired
While the 1300GS is probably still king of the adventure touring motorcycles, I think the price is getting out of control. Two up riding might justify it but solo??
