They were there to welcome Toki home

They were gathering to help guide Toki back to her family and the Salish Sea. I'm sorry her return the next day was only in spirit, but she is now free to swim all realms, with family; past, present and future.

I also watched this live. These beautiful pods came together to enjoy life. What a beautiful event to witness even from my living room. However, the day after this...dear Tokitae passed away at the Miami Sequarium. Such a tragic loss. I’d like to think of her spirit here, among her blessed underwater family. Rest in paradise dear Tokitae. You will never be forgotten. 😞

Magic. I am so over the fact that these superpods regularly coincide with births and deaths being referred to as "coincidence."

I felt lucky to tune in during the amazing experience, many thanks for the great camera operation. I actually had an experience in person at Lime Kiln a number of years ago. On that day, one of the calves spy hopped a couple of times to view the applauding humans on shore. Could anyone hazard a guess what they were feeding on?

Lime Kiln Lighthouse Park was always a wonderful land based whale watching spot. The whale watching regulations also apply to kayakers so they should have went to shore! They also put themselves into a very dangerous situation with possible contact with the orcas!

I just want to say thank you for such an AWESOME experience yesterday! Y'all were perfect, and when you caught that full body breach out of the water, it was so beautiful I jumped up and down like a little girl, and insisted on showing everyone around me.
I split my time between here and Orcalab, and even if I can't see anything at night, I keep my phone turned on so that I can listen for them. It doesn't happen frequently, but to lie in the dark, (I'm up and awake during the night most of the time, though) and then begin hearing those haunting calls leave me happily in awe- it's almost as though it transports me to their world.
Thank you so much for making this possible for us! (and let me know if you ever need help on the night shift😂)

Orcalab is a really great channel! Some of the activity I've seen on their UA-cam channel is incredible!

@TheWhaleMuseum yes, it is. I love watching them, and that scenery is breathtaking! And of course I love learning about the different types of Orcas, as theirs are Northern/transient, which bear some physical differences from yours and other variations such as food sources, etc-but I love these magnificent animals, so all day I switch between your channels-and was fortunate enough yesterday to do so and catch that awe inspiring display from your area. They didn't mind that I went over there and recommended they come look over here yesterday, as we are all united in our love for them. With luck, by "sharing the wealth, " and encouraging others to come view them, we might just be able to excite a future in marine biology in someone, or even donations to help fund others out there studying them. ❤️

Thanks for your comment and for watching. While our amazing webcam operator has already chimed in, I want to thank him for his great work with the cam. He is a volunteer and does a steller job! --Jenny

@TheWhaleMuseum many thanks to not only the both of you, but to all of you who contribute towards making this possible, on any and all channels! With luck, your work will help excite the minds of the future, for those of us who no longer live near the ocean to view it for ourselves, in person.
